We loved our day at Above the Bay and received so much praise from our guests. We were lucky it was a lovely dry day and the views were just spectacular. Our guests also praised the facilities, parking, setting and the food, which was excellent. It was so easy having the whole event under one roof, and we were able to use the different spaces. We enjoyed taking golf carts out onto the green and the indoor spaces were also ideal for our needs. The food was delicious and service was efficient, there were so many clean places, even from the fussiest of guests! The staff were very friendly, welcoming and engaged with the whole event. We had a rocky start with the venue as it was in the process of changing hands. However, once this settled down and the two Sophies were in post everything got much easier, and communications were efficient and swift. On the day, Sophie W couldn't have been more flexible and responsive, really ensuring our day ran as smoothly as possible but also being relaxed and enabling us to enjoy our day. We'd just love to do it all over again!

I cannot begin to describe how wonderful Pier One was for our wedding in June 2024. From the very first enquiry, to saying farewell at the end of our wedding, it was absolutely perfect. Monika, the most amazing events coordinator, was incredible. Nothing was too much bother. She was really personable, warm and professional whilst feeling like a friend. She made the whole process really easy and offered suggestions when I was struggling to make decisions. I cannot thank her enough personally as she was a key factor in actually deciding to book Pier One. The venue is perfect. We had 38 guests plus ourselves as the married couple, so 40 in total, for our afternoon wedding (11am to 4pm). I would say that was the perfect number of people. The views and atmosphere was stunning. It was everything I'd ever dreamed of. The wedding breakfast (we added on canapes and an extra course) was exceptional. The quality of the food and the portion sizes meant that everyone was completely satisfied with their meals. The staff were exceptional and having Monika there on the day made it all the more perfect and ran very smoothly. Even when I forgot to say that some of the guests would need highchairs and needed a few chairs replaced for the wedding breakfast, it was done without fuss and efficiently. I cannot rate Pier One and all of the staff (especially Monika) more highly. Thank you for giving us the most perfect day. We have memories that we'll treasure for a lifetime.

The location was very important to us as over the years we have spent so many hours on Combe Martin beach. On the day Nina was incredible! I don't know what we would have done without her. She was there to greet the groom and walk him through what was going to happen and how the music worked. She was very calming and explained everything, even helped with my dress. When I booked the venue I didn't realise we would get her as well. What a lovely lady, she is very kind and thoughtful. The venue was beautiful and it was a perfect day. Thank you Nina for being there to help support us on the best day of my life.

Fantastic wedding day held at the winter gardens. From the initial first meeting to our wedding day, we truly had the best day imaginable. We cant thank the wedding planner and team enough for what they did for us. We are beyond grateful for everything. Mr & Mrs Thompson

We had a festival themed wedding in June 2023, complete with giant tipis, a glitter bar, a cocktail truck, and an ABBA tribute band! The team at Bigbury Bay Weddings gave us complete freedom and creativity to design our dream day, but were always on hand to answer any queries we had. They are friendly, relaxed, and organised. 100% recommend this venue if you're after something memorable, magical, and unique!

We always knew we wanted to get married in Porthleven, and Beacon Crag was the first and only venue we were interested in - nothing else could possibly compare. Samantha was extremely accommodating, and offered us many options and choices so that we were able to really make the venue our own for the day. We opted to get married outdoors, and it was the most beautiful, special set up for us to have our ceremony. Samantha organised and set up everything, there was absolutely no stress for us at all. Our guests were absolutely wowed by the house, the landscape, and the gorgeous ceremony setting with the floral arch (which was the perfect centre piece), and it was genuinely a breath taking place for our lives to begin together. To be able to take the most incredible photos in a number of beautiful locations around the venue meant that we can treasure the memories forever. Drinks and food were brought out at perfect intervals, and Samantha had mastered being so attentive to us and our guests, whilst also not being at all intrusive on the day. We chose to stay at the house on our wedding night, and our suite was just outstanding. Beautiful rooms, stunning views - it was perfect. We look back on our wedding with the happiest, fondest memories at Beacon Crag, and we feel so lucky to have been able to say our vows in a venue as close to heaven as you can get. It will always have a special place in our hearts, and we will without a doubt go back to visit.

Our wedding at the Carlton Hotel, Bournemouth was without a doubt the best day of our lives. It was absolutely perfect and run smoothly. We had absolutely no hiccups, no near misses and no regrets for booking the Carlton Hotel as our wedding venue. It was organised but nothing was planned as such so we just watched as the day unravelled. It was beyond our expectations with amazingly friendly and helpful staff all around. Thanks to Mark for stepping in and taking over half way through the planning as the unfortunate event of our coordinator leaving left us a little stressed, however, Mark found his feet and rose to the occasion! Amazing communication and professionalism throughout. Joey and Balaram were absolute superstars the night before the wedding and helped sort out us out too. Along with Mark, again, ensuring that everything was in order with the wedding and our guests and discussing events of the day with us and our celebrant. Mark, still to this day, 2 weeks after the wedding is still keeping communication open and settling the last bits and bobs that have cropped up. Thank you for our perfect wedding day!! Getting married at Abbotbury was amazing! Jess, Martin and the team couldn't have been more helpful and made it a perfect day. They helped us with ideas and worked closely with suppliers. The gardens were beautiful and the photos are incredible!

The resort and staff are exceptional. Our 'pre-wedding' buffet reception was a huge success with our guests! From the first contact I felt that the event was in safe hands; the organisation was calm and efficient, the private room was great, and the buffet food was extremely good. Special thanks to Jordan, and to Madison who helped to organise at many of the guests' rooms. All commented on the excellent level of service. You helped to make my daughter's wedding wonderful!

We can’t thank Zoe, Georgia and the rest of the team enough for making our wedding day the best day of our lives. From start to finish, the communication, the kindness, the flexibility and of course fun was apparent from this amazing family. The venue speaks for itself… stunning! But what made this so special was the amazing team behind it. Nothing was too much trouble and they are absolutely on it! We will be back to visit every year if we can.
