We had our wedding at Colehayes Park and would wholeheartedly recommend anyone else do the same! It's a beautiful venue set in gorgeous grounds, and the flexibility they offer allowed us to design the wedding exactly our way - from a quiet Friday dinner, to Saturday morning lake swim, a wonderful ceremony next to the cork tree; ending with a live band, then DJ set in the Rave Cave.

The whole team were easy to deal with, very professional, accommodating and pleasant - both in the build-up to the weekend, and also on the day when we used some of their staff to help with the dinner and bar service.

I truly don't know how to thank the Colehayes staff enough, we had the wedding of our dreams at the end of June, and the whole process was outstanding. We found Colehayes online and instantly fell in love with the DIY vibe. Rebecca took us on a tour of the house and grounds, and I think it's safe to say after 10 minutes of that tour we were sold. Rebecca was laid back, answered every single question with complete honesty, and clearly loves hosting events at her beautiful property! After booking, the support from Ellice and Briony was second to none. Every email was responded to quickly, every question answered, and made my life as easy as possible. They were happy for us to visit on numerous occasions, and gave us such freedom to make the venue our own for the weekend. It really did feel like our home, and there are no other wedding venues I have been to that can offer this.

From a logistical point of view, Colehayes is second to none. When asking other venues about furniture/crockery/cutlery/rooms etc, everything was at an extra cost. Not Colehayes! All of the chairs and tables we could need, all the crockery and cutlery, the decorations room in the basement is HEAVEN (I love that everyone who previously held an event at Colehayes leaves some decorations for future weddings/parties, it has such a community vibe).

Once it got to the big weekend, we were welcomed in with open arms on Friday, Briony ensured to meet us, and the helping hands staff ran through the wedding day to ensure it would run as smoothly as possible. The whole house was immaculate, the rooms cosy and plentiful!! The gardens simply didn't need decorating, you can see how much work the grounds keepers put into them, it's just beautiful. There's plenty of parking, super easy to order your food delivery right to the door, and so much storage/fridges so you don't have to scramble for space.

So, to the day of the wedding. Perfect in every single way. The venue was flawless, the helping hands staff were kind, efficient, polite, everything you could ask for! We did not want a serious, soulless day, and we loved that the staff all had such a great sense of humour, laughing with our guests and helping create the atmosphere we wanted. The whole day ran seamlessly, I just didn't need to feel like I was checking on anything or worried about timings, because they were so well organised.

We also loved that our friends and family could all stay in the house with us, so once the party was over in the marquee, we could go down to the rave cave and keep the party going as late as we wanted! And it went LATE.

On a side note, four of our suppliers were Colehayes recommended suppliers.
Caterers - Dan's American Kitchen and my goodness do not miss out on Dan's catering. He made up the entire menu with us and was so passionate (he catered for us on both Saturday and Sunday and the guests could not stop raving about his food!). I can see why he his a recommended supplier!
Photographer - Warren and Howell Jones Photography. Again, I cannot shout loudly enough about this man. We do not love posing, and Warren captured the most beautiful, natural, candid photos of everyone. He joined us at 10am, and didn't leave us until we were down in the rave cave, late into the night. I have NEVER known a photographer like him!
Marquee - Really Good Marquees, the name says it all. Impeccable service, amazing quality marquee, and left it for the WHOLE weekend for us, just ideal!
Hair stylist - Brigitte Fisher. I wanted mermaid locks with plaits and flowers, and she truly gave me the hair I have dreamt of since I was a little girl. Brigitte was so kind, kept me calm, and gave all my bridesmaids the perfect styles personalised to them.
Colehayes clearly care about who they recommend, as the standard of suppliers was out of this world.

I could keep going for an age, but all I can really say is Colehayes were the very best venue, and gave us the dreamiest wedding. We are so, so grateful. Thank you

Colehayes is a beautiful DIY venue, where you can do as much or little as you wish. The grounds are stunning - a lake, firepit, pagoda, beautiful manor house and gardens. Within the house, there is a bar (which we stocked ourselves - no corkage!), gorgeous panelled hall, lounge, dining room and various kitchens. There are 75 beds which were very clean and well presented - including a great four poster master bedroom with a jacuzzi bath. In the basement, there is a pool table, table football, table tennis and a party room. We had the most amazing time - we were a midweek wedding so had 4 nights in the venue which made everything so enjoyable and gave plenty of time for fun and setting up with our favourite people. If you want support on the day, the "helping hands" team were amazing and kept our wedding running smoothly and offered great advice. An unforgettable experience - thank you Rebecca and team.

We hosted our wedding weekend at Colehayes and had THE best weekened of our lives. Such kind and frindly staff, an amazing manor that was all ours and the best thing was we could use whichever suppliers we wanted, stock our own bar and set our own rules! The most incredible venue for our wedding. Briony, Rebecca, and Elice were amazing throughout the planning process allowing my parents to visit many times. Would completely recommend as your own personal slice of Devon with pagoda and the most incredible cork tree, bonfire area, swimming lake complete with (yes of course) llamas(!?), and the rave cave a total winner so there's no curfew - we partied til 3am! Amazing that everyone could stay on-site too and enjoy the whole weekend, including a nice cottage in the gardens and airbnb on-site for family.

I don't think any review I write for Colehayes Park will do it justice as a venue. It is PERFECT!! We were made to feel so welcome from our first conversations with the guys there. Rebecca, Ellice, Briony and Sam are all so passionate about what they do. All they cared about was ensuring we had the best wedding ever. And we did! It's such a laid back vibe at Colehayes, they encourage you to do whatever you want that's going to make your day as brilliant as it possibly can be. The fact that it's a dry hire venue meant we saved a fortune on alcohol, as Colehayes don't charge any corkage fees! It was also wonderful to be able to have so many of our friends and family stay on site. If it's available, I would highly recommend hiring Corktree Cottage as well - we used it as a groomsmen base to ensure myself and my wife didn't bump into each other on the morning of our wedding. What's more, it is such a beautiful venue. We can't wait to get our photos back because there are so many wonderful locations on site, from the lake to the cork tree, to the bridge over the waterfall, and that's not even mentioning the stunning manor house! Book Colehayes for whatever event you have planned - you won't regret it!

I can't get over how good this team is. I knew I wanted to book Colehayes from the moment I talked to Rebecca about the viewing. They made wedding planning easy and were always so kind and responsive. This is the most incredible venue with the most incredible team behind it! BOOK IT!!

We had our wedding in the middle of the pandemic and Colehayes were so incredible, supportive and responsive the whole time. The venue is so beautiful and is such an incredible place you can put your stamp on. For us we loved doing as much ourselves as possible and we tried to make the most of our mini-wedding with an intimate ceremony in the hall and a long chilled weekend with our friends. From our first visit we knew it was for us and we loved every second of our time at Colehayes. Love that you can book it for other events so an anniversary party a few years down the line is a great idea! 10/10 recommend going and visiting - the house has such a great vibe and Rebecca and the team are all so lovely!

Colehayes was the perfect venue for our wedding day/weekend. We knew from the begginging a 1 day venue wasn’t enough for our friends and family who would be travelling from the southern hemisphere.

Having exclusive use of the house and grounds all weekend was brilliant and all ours guest loved being able to make themselves at home, pour their own pints and even enjoyed being given a job or two to make sure the wedding day was perfect!

The entire team are just the loveliest bunch to work with throughout the whole experience from initial booking and viewing through to checkout! The incredible helping hands team also need a special shout out for making sure the BIG day went off without a hitch!

Perfect venue for your DIY Wedding. The location is stunning and well cared for. The staff have been extremely helpful throughout the whole process and we would recommend Colehayes in heartbeat. They helped make our wedding the amazing day that it was.

We had our wedding here in September 2023 and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The staff are just fantastic, with great communication the whole way through the process, always striving to help and solve problems. The venue itself is stunningly beautiful but also practical enough that you can feel comfortable to do whatever you want without fear. We found it great value and offering more flexibility and freedom than other similar venues. We couldn't recommend it enough. If you're after a DIY venue this ticks all the boxes.

Where to begin! From the first time we spoke to Rebecca and her team over two and a half years ago, to the day we left Colehayes after our dream wedding had come to a close, we have nothing but pure love for Colehayes.

The venue its self is beyond perfect, the private lake, beautiful gardens, amazing kitchen and bar, stunning rooms and of course the rave cave, all allowed us to create a wedding that we and our guests will never forget. This is then paralleled by the freedom Colehayes give you to make the wedding as personal as you like. This is something you cannot get at any other wedding venue and the amount of our guests who commented on how relaxed they felt and how much of an amazing venue it was, is a testament to Colehayes.

Then you have the Colehayes staff. Rebecca, Briony, Ellice, Sam and Kathy are some of the most kind hearted, patient, supportive and all round amazing people you will ever meet. They helped us at every turn, answered all our questions, guided us when we needed it and in short helped facilitate our wedding to become the majestic weekend it was. In addition, there was a small army of equally unbelievably incredible people that helped us all weekend and allowed our wedding to flow effortlessly and deliver the most amazing memories.

So, if you are looking for a wedding venue to give you everything you need to create your own bespoke wedding down to the very last detail, in a location that will give you goose bumps as you drive down the driveway and glimpse it for the very first time, with the people to help and support you, the only place for you, is Colehayes.

If you want to make a weekend of it then Colehayes is the place for you! We loved the whole set up, the freedom of doing the wedding DIY - it was easy to find local businesses and suppliers with experience of working with/at the venue - and we didn't struggle to find things or work stuff out when we were there, partly because the venue were great at giving us all the info we needed in advance.

We couldn't recommend Colehayes highly enough, it was just perfect for what we wanted, and we have so many great memories from across the site (swimming in the lake with the llamas watching on; ceremony and disco in the hall; pizza in the sun out the front; a picnic on the front lawn; drinks reception and BBQ on the top lawn; speeches at the pagoda... you really can make great use of the whole site). Our guests came away saying it felt like a holiday and a wedding rolled into one!

We got married at Colehayes in August 2017 and it could not have been more perfect. As we had lots of friends and family coming from Australia we wanted somewhere that all the wedding guests could stay together for a week so everyone could get to know each other and it was BRILLIANT. We had so much fun all hanging out together, going for walks, preparing for the wedding and spending quality time together. Rebecca and Ellice are the friendliest, loveliest people and just make you feel so welcome and are so helpful. I can not recommend this place enough!!
