Wow what a great day we had and all the guests commented how amazing it was and the place itself, so many places and settings to get great pictures.

Extra care is taken and all is made sure your wedding is catered for and also whatever the weather luckily we had beautiful weather but even if raining it’s all catered for.

The wedding staff are great in ensuring your day goes as smooth as possible and ours could not have gone bettter.

We had our wedding at Colville Hall in June and it was the day of dreams. We knew straight away that Colville was the place we wanted to get married and it didn't disappoint, it is such a stunning venue. We loved getting to spend parts of the day outside and inside and all our guests have said how lovely it was. Claire is absolutely fantastic and was on hand whenever we wanted to ask her questions, and she made sure we were comfortable with everything and made the day go so smoothly. Thank you to Claire and Philippa and everyone else at Colville for an incredible wedding!

Colville Hall was the first venue that my now husband and I viewed after we first got engaged back in 2018. We then viewed a few other barn style venues in Essex and we just kept comparing them to Colville - they didn't even come close! The venue is stunning, the grounds are beautiful and there was plenty of space for all of our guests (we had 100 + for the day, then another 50 in the evening!). Claire the Coordinator was fantastic on the day and leading up to the wedding. She was so warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble! She was always on hand if we had any questions, and her service combined with the caterers Premier Crew make an excellent team. Our only criticism was that we would have loved to have stayed in the Bridal Suite the night of the wedding but the owner of the venue wouldn't allow us to because we hadn't booked the other accommodation, even though we were willing to pay. Despite this, we had a wonderful day and many of our guests commented that it was the best wedding they'd ever been to. Overall, would definitely recommend this venue.

Matt and I fell in love with Colville Hall as soon as we saw it. We had looked at other barn venues that felt like new builds trying to be barns but these barns are authentic and beautiful. We loved the fact that there are separate barns for the ceremony and wedding breakfast so you don't have to wait on the room to be turned round. The grounds are stunning but even if the weather is not what you hope for the barns are gorgeous and there are plenty of lovely photo opportunities inside; another reason why we chose the venue.

Claire, the wedding planner, was exceptional throughout the entire process and made life so easy for us. On the day we had COVID cancellations and had to re-arrange the seating plan last minute as I sat in my PJs and she just took care of it. My nephew wasn't feeling great in the evening and the team went above and beyond to source Calpol for him. We can't say enough good things!

There is a choice of 3 caterers and three drinks packages. My only slight negative comment is that we would have liked to swap one of the wines, with the same supplier and we were obviously happy to pay the difference, but this wasn't possible and we had to stick with the specific package choice. However, on the flip side, the team were very flexible with only a small deposit due during COVID times.

This is a beautiful venue and Claire will make sure you have a perfect day! We had the most amazing day and have fantastic memories to look back on for years to come.

My husband and I had our wedding at Colville Hall in October 2018. I had extensive dealings with the venue in the lead up to our big day, and also some of their recommended suppliers. From day one Philippa and Carol were both been very responsive to emails, answering all of my questions promptly, meaning I haven't had to worry about chasing at all. This made my job overall a lot easier. Colville is a relatively new venue, so inevitably there are lots exciting things going on all the time. Even in the time between our booking and the wedding we saw the addition of some stunning fairy lights, which really worked well in the reception barn, more accommodation, and rethatching of the ceremony I am sure there will be lots of other well thought out inclusions as well post lockdown, which will just make Colville even more of a beautiful venue.

I attended wedding fayres, plus an open day at the venue and all have been exceedingly well organised. We actually booked 2 of our suppliers from the fayre, and considered several others. You have the choice of a few catering companies- we tried 2 of them. It is clear the Philippa and her team have been very discerning in their choice of preferred caterers, whilst at the same time looking at all budgets. If you do want more of a budget menu, then you can do so, but equally there are some high end options. As Michelin star fans, having that option to tailor our menu was so important to our day!

The facilities at Colville are modern and new, whilst at the same time maintaining the stunning traditional barn feel. Clearly a lot of care has been taken with regards to the restoration project undertaken by Philippa and Richard, her husband. My sister is deaf, so light was always important for us, and the venue has this throughout- even in the ceremony barn, which has excellent lighting despite being a little darker (I believe since our wedding they have installed an additional window allowing a lot more light. The toilets are lovely and light- with a wonderful mirror that means you get to see both sides of your dress when you are in there. Something that seems so minor, yet is so important on the day. There are also disabled toilets should this be required. Outside you have beautiful grounds, which are well maintained, and offer great photo opportunities.

In terms of location, Colville really is in the countryside, but this means you have that feeling of exclusivity, and beautiful surroundings. It is also near to major towns and airports, which was quite important to us as we have a lot of overseas guests who will be flying in. Colville is an exclusive venue, and this is reflected in the price. However, we both felt their pricing is very fair for what you are getting, and for the overall standard of the venue.

Our actual wedding day went very smoothly. We had so many comments about how spectacular Colville was and how smoothly the day went. In fact, we had some people say it was the best wedding they had been to (including their own!) Unfortunately we had torrential rain despite the day before and after being bright sunshine so we didn’t get to make the most of the grounds. However, having the drinks reception in the ceremony barn actually, I think, worked better. If we were outside people would have wandered off and by having the drinks in the barn we all got to be together.

I definitely recommend anyone looking for a stylish and sophisticated venue to consider Colville. I wouldn’t hesitate to book if I were looking now. Thank you to all involved for making our day such a memorable one.

I fell in love with this venue the second we stepped into the ceremony barn and I couldn't have been happier with how it all went. The team at Colville really looked after us and were happy to answer any questions we had. Some rules about food and alcohol need to be noted - don't bring your own. So accommodating with requests and set up everything we wanted perfectly. The day itself ran so smoothly and that is down to the team. The two barns work perfectly to keep ceremony and celebrating seperate. The grounds are stunning for pictures. Accommodation is a little expensive but due to location of venue this is a good idea - taxis definitely need to be pre-booked by guests.

Colville Hall is truly an amazing wedding venue, as soon as we pulled in to view Colville we knew straightaway that this is where we wanted to get married, the grounds and barns are absolutely stunning. We got married on the 19th August and the whole day from start to finish was perfect. Leading up to our wedding Phillipa, Claire and Karen were always available to answer any questions that we had and Karen was amazing on the day. We can honestly say that our wedding day was one of the best days of our lives and that Colville Hall is breathtakingly beautiful.

Colville Hall and it's staff are literally amazing. The venue is breath taking and the wedding coordinator makes sure everything is perfect for your big day. The staff are helpful and the owner ensures everything goes smoothly. Would 100% recommend!

I would like to highly recommend Colville Hall. We had the best day and our guests are still talking about how wonderful it was. The grounds and barns are excellent for photographs and we are really pleased with how smoothly the day ran. Everything from start to finish was perfect and the staff are all very friendly and helpful.

The barns are beautiful, and if you like historic venues, I would highly recommend Colville Hall, which offers modern facilities, yet retains a traditional feel. The accommodation is stunning and the attention to detail was wonderful. This venue is something very special.

Colville is without doubt an amazing venue, with stunning grounds. We decided on Coville over other venues due to the brightness inside the barn.

Our wedding coordinator, Claire, was so helpful to us, right from the day we reserved our date until the big day. Claire relieved all stresses and pressures from us with her infinite wisdom in the industry, and I am so pleased she was there to support us throughout our wedding planning journey.

We had such a fabulous day at Colville. I would really recommend this venue, and Claire, for your Essex wedding too.

We got married at Colville Hall end of May and absolutely fell in love with this venue when we visited it on a dreary February (that really says a lot!) We struggled to find a venue in the area that consisted of beautiful barns, stunning scenery and space for our immediate family to stay on site. We met Claire initially and her enthusiasm was infectious. She was so professional and extremely responsive, and happy for us to visit the venue on a couple of occasions on the lead up to our day. Having Claire throughout the process, and who ensured our day went perfectly, was so reassuring and that level of consistency is quite rare at wedding venues.
