From start to finish Cottesmore were excellent. Their pricing was very reasonable compared to other venues that we looked at and as it is a family run business, everyone is so friendly and it feels like they genuinely care about your big day. Jackie and Julie were always very responsive - guaranteed replies within a few hours and accommodated most of our requests with no questions asked! The wine and food tasting ahead of the big day felt very special and allowed us to get excited for our big day as the food is beautifully presented. Our guests commented on how convenient the venue is, given the availability of over 20 hotel rooms on site which is not always the case for other venues that are in the middle of no-where. We had the best day and whilst we are sad that it's over, we know that we can go back at anytime to visit and to enjoy a lovely hotel stay. Wow, what a wedding! We can honestly it exceeded our expectations. Where do I start? The moment I started to walk up the wedding lawn it felt truly magical and dreamlike. Literally was an actual dream come true. Before we ever picked Cottesmore, I had a dream of seeing my fiancé waiting for me surrounded by trees in beautiful sunlight. When I tell you the reality was better than the dream, I am not kidding.
To hear our guests say pretty much the same thing about how magical it was, made me fully realise I wasn’t just a star struck bride. Words like ‘felt like walking on to a movie set’ and ‘thought I was in California and suddenly there’d be an ocean backdrop’ and ‘it feels like we are in Orange County’ were enough for me to know they felt it too. Everything about the ceremony was just the most ethereal magical and emotional experience. And to see Dan’s eyes fill up because of just how beautiful the moment was incredible. Neither he nor I can stop talking about those moments.

But it didn’t end there. The courtyard moments, the beautiful sound from the fountain, the smiling staff, the mix of lovely cold drinks, the canapés, hearing our music, feeling we were in a totally exclusive venue, the buggy to the lake, all so relaxed and beautiful.

The Challis Suite looked amazing and beautifully cool - although everyone had been wilting, they were all so happy but the increase in the happy buzz was palpable thanks to the very much appreciated air con. And our music again - so easy to do. Then the food. Absolutely gorgeous (although Dan and I noticed only one pea each in our pea fricasse 😂😂). So many positive comments from our guests. And such warm and friendly service.

The day and evening just kept going like that. Opening up the partition to reveal even more of Shelley’s styling - you could see how impressed everyone was. Like one more beautiful thing being revealed after another. A1 Disco was awesome and played all our requests and even repeated one for me when I missed it when I changed my dress. Evening food went down a storm but we over ordered!! Felt awful about the waste! Pls warn other couples not to make my mistake and although it pains me to say it (because cows and pigs etc are beautiful and gentle) the mini burgers were a hit way over the wraps. Chip mini cones were our best choice. Once again a big hit on food with our guests.

Right through to our final die hard guests belting it out along with the F&B staff to Sweet Caroline on final song, it was literally the happiest and best day of our lives. We could not have hoped for anything better.

We had looked at several Sussex based venues before we visited Cottesmore. We instantly loved it's beautiful setting and laid back, country barn-like style. It was super modern inside but that blended beautifully with the rustic courtyard and walkway to the wedding lawn.
We wanted so much to have an outdoor ceremony but we had several other boxes we needed to tick - not least of all we needed enough rooms to cater for several of our guests to stay overnight - plus with some travelling long distance, we wanted somewhere where they (and us) could stay the night before. As soon as we left after our first visit we knew this was the venue for us. The wedding lawn is beautiful but there is also the indoor barn room which really IS barnlike with its open beamed ceiling. Luckily, we had the most gorgeous weather on our wedding day, so our dream outdoor ceremony went ahead.
The little horsebox bar in the courtyard is lovely and they personalise it for you on the day so it really feels like it’s yours. The courtyard is closed off with a private event sign, so you really feel like you have exclusive use. Taking the buggy up to the lake for photographs really does get you the most amazing pictures. Our photographer even grabbed us later after our meal to take some further pictures in the taller grassy area and never once are you made to feel like you are at a golf club and 'shouldn't be there'.
The entire venue has a lovely modern laid back feel and any guest would be as at home in a tail suit or tuxedo as they would in chinos and a shirt.
All the staff are so lovely and helpful. Jackie and Julie are simply outstanding – replying to emails so quickly and always reassuringly calm and organised. They definitely know what they are doing. The staff on the day were so kind and lovely to us, with the F&B manager even helping me to bustle my dress.
Our food was really delicious, and every little change and dietary need was catered for. We had opted to have a bar tab so that all our guests could have a drink of choice. We wish now we had made more of a point of remindin everyone as not all bar staff seemed to be aware and some of our guests ended up paying for drinks where others didn’t and this was quote early on so it really depended on who was serving. My advice would be that if you do have bar tab, ask that all the serving staff are aware and remind your guests during the speech. We had told ours in our invitations, but they were obviously too polite on the day to say anything when ordering their drinks. This was the only little glitch and I blame myself for not being more vocal about it on the day.
If you are considering Cottesmore for your wedding then just go for it. You won’t be disappointed. We had the most amazing, perfect day that we will never forget. Cottesmore will always have a special place in our hearts and we will be back to celebrate our anniversary and reminisce about the most incredible happy day ever.

Cottesmore was simply the dream choice for our wedding reception for many reasons: its beauty and dreamy, lush outdoor greens and lake, the professionalism and flexibility of the events team, their comprehensive wedding package and catering and finally its surprising affordability in comparison to all the other venues in Sussex which we explored!!

As a bride who had an eye for detail; wanting a beautiful venue, great food and ample space for our guests to have privacy and yet enjoy a good party: I will certainly recommend Cottesmore!! The accommodation, recreational and spa facilities available were an added bonus and hugely complimented by our out of town guests.

Also the value of a supportive events team can never be overemphasised!! Jackie and Julie were exceptionally great at anticipating and meeting our needs! Nothing was too much for them! There were No hidden costs or terms and conditions set to catch the couple out!! (Something very common with other wedding venues!!). The couples needs were at the fore of every support provided!

We loved having our wedding here! The events coordinators are fantastic and all of the team here are lovely and thoughtful which really made our day special. This beautiful venue has a relaxed and characterful ambience. You can choose to get married inside or outside, we chose inside and it was an outstanding venue. We loved riding on a buggy to the lake for private photos. The food was fantastic with amazing feedback from our guests. We love the courtyard for private pre and post wedding drinks where there are also the hotel rooms for the guests. Overall, we can't recommend this venue enough and hope many more couples enjoy their wedding here.

From first enquiry at Cottesmore when we got engaged in 2021 through to the day itself in 2024, we cannot fault Cottesmore for their exceptional service. Julie and Jackie are an absolute credit to the venue and were helpful beyond belief. They answered everyone of our questions via email promptly and nothing was ever too much trouble. We had viewings with them around the venue on multiple occassions to help see how our wedding would come together, which was immensly helpful in the planning stages. The staff we had at our wedding menu tasting were so professional and welcoming, that we actually requested if they could work on the day of our wedding. Which they did and it was so great to see them there! The menu tasting itself was excellent, every dish beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. The meeting with Julie a few months before the day to discuss every element was extremely helpful. It allowed us to make sure we had covered all areas and that the venue knew everything we would like to happen and to be at our wedding. This extra layer of communication really put our minds at rest that our wedding was in the safest of hands. On the day every member of staff our guests and ourselves met were so impressed with their professionalism and kindness. We had so many guests telling us how impressed they were with the venue. Setting up on the morning of the wedding and the evening before was simple and easy, the venue allowing us to get on and get access to all areas we required around any other events happening there at the time. The hotel on site is such an added bonus and the staff in the Accommodations team were extremely helpful when trying to book in our guests. Being able to stay onsite and have everything we needed there kept the stress of planning to a minimum. They were super helpful with accommodating outside suppliers, such as the hiring of outdoor games and an ice cream tricycle in the courtyard. The venue itself is just beautiful, inside and out. With new improvements being added and made all the time to make it one of the best looking venues in West Sussex. It was the first one we viewed after we got engaged and there was nowhere else that we loved as much. It is excellent value for money and we actually spent less on the wedding overall than we had originally budgeted for! We really cannot fault Cottesmore and would reccommend them to any other couple looking for a high end wedding venue that covers all elements!

We fell in love with this venue the moment we saw it, the views are stunning and the hotel and reception area are beautifully set out and spacious. Jackie, Julie and their team were fantastic from day 1, they were so helpful and were always on hand for any questions or concerns we had without delay. Our day went without a hitch and the food was fantastic, our guests were so happy, some who had recently married themselves even said they wished they had found this venue! The staff were fantastic and helpful and attentive. We had an outdoor wedding which was so beautiful but it was a very hot day and they made sure all our guests were comfortable while they waited for the ceremony and not burning in the hot sun. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking to get married.

From start to finish having our wedding at Cottesmore was the best decision we made. The venue, accommodation, the staff, the food, the grounds - everything was simply perfect. Our wedding day was on the hottest day of the year in September 2023 and I remember asking when we were first shown around the venue, if they had air conditioning and little did I know 18 months later, we would be needing it on the coldest setting!

The whole day was incredible and a day we will never forget. Jackie and Julie are simply AMAZING in the Events team. No question too little and they were always there to help throughout the whole process, we cant thank you both enough. Best Day Ever!

The team at Cottesmore were amazing. We got married in April 2023 and they couldn’t have made it easier. They were lovely to deal with and so helpful, they really made it a stress free process.

The actual day ran smoothly and guests commented on the lovely venue and amazing food. We couldn’t have picked a better place!

We had our wedding here in Jan 24. I cannot praise Jackie & Julie ( events managers) enough for their professionalism, organisation and flexibility. There are three rooms which means you can have the ceremony then canapés followed by wedding breakfast without having to move far or wait for room to be set up. We had a disco in the evening so they opened up the partition between middle room and dining room. There were enough waiting staff to ensure everyone’s meal was served hot. The setting is beautiful even in the winter. One friend described it as the best wedding they had ever been to.

We had our wedding at Cottesmore at the end of October. The staff from the first viewing to the final minutes of our wedding went up and beyond to fulfil our needs every step of the way with a professional and friendly manner. Nothing was to much for them and their advice was so helpful as everything is very overwhelming on the lead up to the day. Julie and Jackie made sure everything was so special and the staff on the day made sure everything ran smoothly. A big shout out to the bar staff too, they were amazing throughout the evening. I highly recommend this venue. It is also such good value for money compared to other venues in the area.
