5 star all the way for our micro wedding

We had to organise a wedding fairly last minute for health reasons and decided on Dalgarven as loved the setting and the price. They have a range of packages available and we chose the micro package for 44 people. At a bargain price of £3000 including overnight stay we had a ball and couldn't believe the value for money. Our guests had a welcome glass of bubbly and we got married on a Sunday in their orangery overlooking the river. The package included a 3 course dinner with wine as well as bubbly for speeches and a small buffet in the evening. We had the place to ourselves as our guests booked the other bedrooms. The staff were really nice and friendly and food delicious, very home made comfort style food which suited us. We didn't have time to use their spa facilities as only stayed one night but my friend is booking the place for her hen party in 2025.

We really appreciated not having to hire equipment as they included stunning thrones, table decorations, arch, prosecco cart in the package.

Room were lovely and cosy. We stayed in a room with massive 4 poster bed.

Their drinks were reasonably priced.

Ideal countryside wedding location with river views

Can't recommend this place enough, especially for brides and grooms who like to be in control!

We booked a weekend wedding and opted for the 2 night stay so we had plenty of time the day before to get the place the way we wanted. I loved that we had the run of the place to do this.

We decided to decorate the conservatory first and worked with the dalgarven team to turn our ideas into reality but essentially they allow you to decorate as you please. That suited us as I had specific ideas on layout.

There is a dinner included the evening before wedding which is great as it allowed some of our family members who don't know each other that well to mingle.

We decided to eat in the bar area the night before so that the conservatory was ready on the Friday night for decoration. I really recommend this, it put my mind at rest knowing it was all sorted for the next day.

There are 9 bedrooms in the place so it was full of family and bridesmaids. The rooms are lovely, not luxurious apart from a few rooms. They all had shower rooms but there is a separate area with additional showers and changing areas that we were able to use which is was fantastic. They even had room in them for our hair to get done by the hair dressser we booked. Adjacent to the showers is a room with LED mirrors, magnifying mirrors and GHD hair dryers and straighteners. Perfect.. It made a huge difference getting ready having that wee bit extra space.

The outdoor hot tub stunning and overlooks the river. We didn't get to use this as much as we'd like with so much going on but our guests put it to good use.

Food was great and loved that a hot buffet was included for our evening guests in the bargain package of £50pp. So many places charge you £10 for a cold bacon roll. This was set out in the conservatory so guests could nip out of the function suite at night for a nibble.

We hired in the DJ and it was a bargain £150 for the night.

Massages can be booked and we didn't have time for this but our cousins and friends booked in morning of wedding and raved about therapists. They use the ESPA range and in all the bedrooms and spa showers they have Anne Semonin body washes, shampoo, conditioner etc. I hadn't heard of the brand before but it's a luxury french brand with lemongrass scents.

We can't wait to return to Dalgarven for another celebration.

A wedding with a private spa and friendly stafaf

We chose Dalgarven as live locally and wanted somewhere to put up our family travelling from Wales for the wedding and are so glad we did.

As we were on a tight budget we elected for a midweek wedding which was about half the price of the weekend if i recall recorrectly. Family paid £160 for their rooms for 2 nights so there was hardly anything left for us to pay for the hotel itself.

Loved the fact that could all eat a relaxed dinner the evening before the wedding togetehr without another soul in the place except staff.

Donna looked after our every need and refilled the wine glasses throughout the night making us all feel at ease and relaxed.

We were allowed to order in breakfasts to suit but decided to go with a contental buffet breakfast given we had dresses to fit into later that day.

The grounds are lovely at Dalgarven overlooking the river Garnock and the conservatory, where we had the ceremony, delightful.
The food was great and we had 2 choices from each course to pick from. We went for the pate to start and salmon and steak pie for the mains. Desserts were sticky toffee pudding (home made and amazing) and the margarita cocktail.

We had the indulge spa treatmetn package the evening before (a gift from my aunt) and got a great night sleep before as a result. Our therapist was fantastic.

What makes Dalgarven unique is having the place to ourselves and a private spa. We couldn't believe value for money and think this place will be charging double in a few years time with all improvements they are making to it.

Being a small hotel with 9 bedrooms but huge floor space gave us plenty of room but cosiness as well.

The owner was lovely to deal with and there on the day to ensure things went smoothly.

Relaxed wedding venue full of charm and intimacy

Amazing venue for a relaxed wedding.

We were a group of 30 and stayed over night before wedding. We had a lovely meal given to us and got us in the mood for celebration.

The hot tub is in riverside setting and was great with a glass of champagne. We booked in long massages before dinner to chill out and were able to dine in our bride and bridesmaids dressing gowns at dinner. It is that kind of place!

We decorated the tables ourselves with favours (well the bridesmaids and mums did) and our own decorations and brought in candles for atmosphere.

The rooms are spacious, some more than others, so getting ready wasn't an issue and we loved that the bedrooms are divided so half are on one side of dalgarven to another (separated by sauna and steam room and with separate staircases) which was ideal for keeping the groom etc away from us on the morning of wedding.

The food was lovely and served efficiently and friendly. There is not an air of stuffiness with this place and everyone was made to feel relaxed and welcome.

We had to checkout at 10 on day after wedding as another group were in after us but they let us stay to 11ish as long as we had vacated the rooms. Book a third night if important to you. They will give you it at discounted rates.

Overall, very happy memories here and my friend has booked it for her hen party next year.
