Welcome to Dornoch Castle Hotel in Dornoch, Sutherland.

We are a bustling 15th-century family-run hotel full of warmth and personality. We personally run the Thompson family, General Manager Matt, and our excellent team. The well-known Dornoch Distillery is also situated in our Gardens and produces award-winning gin and whisky, run by Phil and Simon Thompson. We are situated directly opposite the famous Dornoch Cathedral in this very pretty Highland village and only 5 minutes stroll from our gorgeous long, golden beach and the world-famous Royal Dornoch Golf course.

We can cater from 2 to 200 (70+ with a marquee/stretch tent). Up to 70 max. in our Garden Room followed by dancing is a very popular option. The Garden Room overlooks our walled gardens and lawns which we use extensively during the warmer months for reception drinks and canapés.

Wedding ceremonies for up to 30 people are regularly held in our walled gardens around our lovely statue of Peter Pan, but most are happy to marry in the beautiful Cathedral or in the pretty local Registry office. Both are a couple of minutes' walk away. We now also have the option of our 15th-century Vault for small ceremonies or reception meals (up to 14 guests).

Wedding transport is not an issue, and there are many interesting local diversions for your guests, such as high-quality shopping, walking, distillery tours, castles, nature trips, etc.

Dornoch Castle currently has 21 bedrooms, including our two Deluxe Honeymoon Rooms with hand-carved four posters, champagne, and spa baths in the very oldest part of the Castle tower.

We are delighted to help arrange accommodation for your guests within walking distance when the Castle rooms have filled. We are also happy to supply contact lists for local wedding suppliers for cakes, hair, beauty, flowers, music, etc., and will be on hand to make the planning as easy as possible for you.
