Oh my goodness I don't know where to begin. Will try my best to put it into words, sorry I ramble on with all of my feelings.

From the start this has been more than just a venue. We fell in love with it last October when we came for afternoon tea, and picking this place to have our wedding day was the best decision I've made.
For the whole year that we spent wedding planning, Doxford became a little haven and happy place for me, and it has been an honour getting to know all the staff on a personal level including my (new best friend) Angela the wedding planner, to the reception staff, waitressing and bar staff, and whole wider team. They could not have been more lovely or accommodating, it for one is so special to have a wedding venue where you can visit on the lead up, whether that is going for afternoon tea and showing my family when they are visiting, or going for a wander and cuppa, the staff every time without fail treat you with the upmost friendliness and have been nothing but welcoming.
Angela has made the whole process of wedding planning so simple and I stressful, no email or question was a silly question (even though some of mine definitely were), and she was always there with a smile and turned into a true friend. She made this experience so magical and special and I could not ever thank her enough for that. She is one of a kind, and SO good at what she does.
One stand out highlight of the wedding day for me, is when I was walking down the stairs with my Dad and bridesmaids, and at the bottom waiting for us was all of the staff: Angela, the receptionists, waitresses and waiters, and bar staff who I've got to know well and who's faces said a million words, it was honestly so special and brought a tear to my Dads eye, and it was just what I needed. Not every venue would offer that or be that personal, and I think that speaks a thousand words of what type of place it is.
In addition, despite it being an amazing venue, it's incredible what you get for the price, and you can make the wedding to how you want it. I was shocked at the price when told as it's cheaper than most venues that I personally looked it, but as well as this with a choice of rooms to get married in to suit you, a WIDE amount of food to choose from (the food tasting was incredible) and also the choice, (but not the pressure where you have to fill rooms) for guests to stay there at a wedding price, with breakfast included the next day, which with a lot of people travelling down was ideal for us. We got a wedding package which made planning so much easier as we then just had to sort a handful of additional suppliers, making the organising stress free and enjoyable, something I did not expect wedding planning to be!
The day itself ran so smooth and beyond anuthing I could have ever imagined, we literally just turned up with our stuff and they did the rest. The ceremony was gorgeous, the drinks reception and canapés were to die for, and the grounds for pictures are out of this world! Also although it is not an exclusive venue, it is so cosy and you feel like you have the whole place to ourselves, and it is so special we have the opportunity to return, whether that is to go to the spa, for an anniversary trip, lunch or afternoon tea.

Sorry to you reading an essay (hope you got this far), but we truly hand on heart had the best and most magical wedding day, exceeding all our expectations. Thank you Doxford hall, I could not recommend a more perfect venue, it was the best day of our lives and I could not dream of getting married anywhere else! 💗💗 p.s if you need me to ever come and work wedding day open days for you I will! 😂🥰

My daughter has added a brief review re. 29 4 23 but from a Father of the Bride's perspective, this is what I emailed to the Organiser, Angela Carruthers:-

Hi Angela - the dust has settled, the suits returned and 'normality' prevails.

I wanted to place on record our sincerest appreciation for the effort expended by you and your colleagues over the period from selecting Doxford Hall as our daughter's wedding venue until the Sunday after the marriage when we all went our separate ways.

Your commitment, patience and guidance were second to none. Thank you.

The suppliers selected as a result of our attending one of your Wedding Fairs were superb - I have passed on our appreciation separately.

It was a highly successful weekend, the food we enjoyed throughout being first class.

Your involvement on the day, and that of Glen, is worthy of special mention, as is the oversight of the breakfast arrangements on 29 and 30 April (I did not get the man's name but he and his team were excellent).

There were some special touches that impacted greatly. Two of these were the supply of a chair with arms (a mini throne) at very short notice for our guest who was, until very recently, wheelchair-bound and also that the staff lined-up to see Victoria and me enter the Ceremony Room.

I wish we could do it all over again as we missed so much (not just the fiz and canapes!)...

What a fantastic day we had at my sons wedding 11th May. They had an outdoor ceremony as the sun was out and it was a beautiful day. The hotel arranged the chairs in front of the gazebo, it looked amazing. Following this the drinks reception was held with staff bringing out the canapes with a smile . The Wedding Reception room looked fantastic, it was the largest of the event rooms and is very grand and majestic, dressed up it looked wonderful. The food went down well and the sticky toffee pudding was to die for! Staff looked after us all into the evening where we danced the night away. Guests commented on how beautiful the hotel and its surroundings were and that they would like to return. The rooms were lovely and no complaints. The few children there were able to enjoy the spa pool for a short while and the maze .
The wedding day dresser was Gemma Connell who did an amazing job. Photographer was Stephen Beecroft who was very professional and helped the lads with their pocket dressing!
Staff were very helpful and one member of staff even brought a forgotten guest outfit on his way in to work after a meet up in a local carpark to be given it!

Got married 29th April 2023. Everything was well organised well planned and nothing was a bother. Staff accommodating kind friendly approachable. Angela was lovely and most of the weekend without a hitch. Food was amazing

Doxford Hall Hotel and Spa was the most magical and unique wedding venue for our very special day. Doxford is surrounded by beautiful scenery, character and flair that adds true decadence to the hotel. The team at Doxford were 5*, they are extremely proactive, personalised and professional. They made our day absolute perfection. The dining is exceptional, the food is very high standard even on a very large scale and they maintain superb standards. The ballroom is by far my most favourite place with beautiful high ceilings, crisp style, very spacious and amazing character. Every room is bursting with character, style and class. We fell in love with Doxford many years ago and it’s just got better and better with the support from superb staff and Jon Allan who has gone above and beyond to make our day and stay perfect in every single way. We are so glad we chose Doxford Hall to host our wedding this year. The food, service and facilities were all top class. Our wedding photos in the gardens and the maze are fantastic.
