About

Royal Blackheath Golf Club is a beautiful, historic venue for your romantic celebrations. Located in South East London, in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, the venue is a grand, yet intimate space to hold your wedding reception.

The 16th century, grade I listed house is steeped in over 400 years of history. The building has been beautifully restored to bring it into the 21st century, yet its historic charm and elegance can be sensed in the original ceilings, fireplaces and grand paintings.

The house is set within 110 acres of the stunning landscaped parkland golf course, which provides the ideal backdrop for your important photo memories of the day. The grand interiors and striking exteriors, create a truly majestic setting for your wedding day.

We are currently unable to hold civil ceremonies at Eltham Lodge, but we can accommodate your wedding breakfast for up to 80 guests with an additional 70 evening guests. For your wedding breakfast, our excellent in-house catering team will create fabulous dishes, all freshly prepared.

A first Class mid summers wedding

I am writing on behalf of my son, James and his new wife and indeed all my family to say a big thank you for the fantastic day we had on Saturday, celebrating their wedding at the Royal Blackheath Golf Club.

All the staff were wonderful and looked after us magnificently. They must have been seriously tired by the end! The food and wines were first class and the setting could not have been bettered (such impressive surroundings, particularly in the sunshine!). I am not sure how you managed to provide the best summer's day for some years, but thanks!

I should be grateful if you could pass on our thanks to all your staff, particularly Chef and your banqueting manager and also to Jan for her fantastic attention to detail in making all the arrangements for such a successful occasion. It all ran so smoothly and it was so good not to have anything to worry about on the day! Thank you once again.

The perfect place to have our wedding

Eltham Lodge was the perfect place to have our wedding. Not only is it an absolutely stunning venue, the service we received from Jan and her team was impeccable. Jan is responsive, calm and efficient which helped keep us stress free in the run up to the wedding and the quality of the food and the wine ( as well as service from Phil and Bashir) was great too. all in all we'd highly recommend it.

We would recommend the facilities to anyone.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you and the team at the club for the fantastic wedding breakfast and reception that we had on the 29th September.

Having spent a great deal of time visiting venues for our reception , from the moment that we set foot in the club, we realised that the setting and ambiance that the club offered, together with the bespoke package, meant that we could have the evening that we had dreamed of.

The menu discussion and taster menu meant that the fussiest of eaters could be catered for and the choice of accompanying wines was superb, and all delivered very well on the night.

Although we were a little uncertain about the role of a toastmaster, we found it to be a huge benefit ensuring that events post meal ran smoothly.

We would recommend the facilities to absolutely anyone and only regret is that it was over far too soon.

We could not have picked a more beautiful setting to hold our wedding reception than Eltham Lodge. We were very well looked after by the staff, everything was very organised, the food was delicious and the service was second to none. We cannot thank you enough for making our special day run so smoothly.

A perfect way to start our married life together

Celebrating our wedding reception at Eltham Lodge was just a perfect way to start our married life together. From the time we arrived at this wonderful setting in the grounds of Royal Blackheath Golf Club we were looked after in such a friendly manner. From photo’s… to lunch… to an evening party, it was just the best place to be on this very special day in our lives.

The dining room was the perfect setting for our wedding breakfast, the menu was excellent and staff very friendly and efficient not just on the day but also in the planning. Our guests came from many parts of the world and all were impressed with the beautiful Eltham Lodge.

A spectacular success

As "Father of the Bride", I have to thank Royal Blackheath Golf Club for the magnificent effort they made in making our wedding breakfast a spectacular success. The setting was ideal for the one hundred or so guests, of whom at least thirty were overseas visitors, traveling from America, New Zealand and Cayman Islands and they all expressed what a wonderful experience it had been.

Most importantly of all, my daughter, the bride, just loved the whole occasion, following a memorable wedding service earlier and the Haaka performed for the bride at midnight outside the clubhouse.

Again, many thanks to the Royal Blackheath staff for putting on such a lovely day for all of us. I must say that the addition of having a Master of Ceremonies, Tony Appleton, suggested by Jan, was a master stroke, in ensuring that everything went so smoothly throughout.

What a day!

Magical, memorable, fantastic and perfect, just some of the words to describe our special day, not only by ourselves but many of our guests. We cannot recommend Royal Blackheath Golf Club highly enough, wonderful service and care from day one. Thank you RBGC for giving us the perfect day and treasured memories.
