Nestled in the heart of England's Surrey Hills just south of Guildford, Surrey, Gate Street is a romantic venue for weddings and other milestone events. This family-run property is also a working farm home to English Longhorn cattle, Lleyn Sheep, and Mangalitsa Pigs. The barn and its surroundings have been home to countless celebrations for over 20 years.

Facilities and Capacity

Gate Street Barn is available to host weddings all year long, whatever the weather. Starting your day in The Tack Room and Old Dairy, two beautiful preperation spaces where you'll be able to enjoy the morning with loved ones. We have 3 licensed spaces for a Civil Ceremony including our traditional oak Barn, enchanting Woodland Wedding area or refined Farmhouse Avenue. Blessings and bespoke ceremonies are welcome to be hosted and we have lovely, local Church options in the picturesque Surrey Hills.

The Barn can seat up to 150 guests, while evening receptions or less formal occasions can host 200 attendees. Inside The Barn, you can enjoy the warm wood finishes and exposed beams wound with twinkling fairy lights. It's joined to both The Orangery and Pheasantry, allowing you to smoothly move between event spaces as the day unfolds. In the warmer months, you can also hold your reception in the beautiful landscape gardens. Wood-burning stoves add a touch of cosiness for weddings in autumn and winter.

Onsite Accommodation

Once the celebrations have drawn to a close, end the day on a high by booking the luxurious onsite accommodation that can sleep up to 28 guests. The Hayloft and Pool House are popular choices for the newlyweds with its abundance of rustic charm. The Farmhouse, located a few steps from the main venue, boasts seven double rooms and access to the Tennis court and heated swimming pool in the summer. The Stable Flat, which can be connected to the Tack Room, is well-suited for friends and family of the couple. It has two double bedrooms,a private garden and full equipped kitchen, ideal for turning the celebration into a countryside getaway. Those who want to treat themselves to a glamping experience will enjoy the convenience and charm of the Shepherd's Hut, with views of the Longhorn Cattle on the farm. The Beech Hut and The Shepherd's Hut are also available for overnight stays.
