We held our wedding reception (Walima) in June 2024 in the Garden Suite at Gorse Hill Hotel and it was one of the best decisions made. We initially visited it at the start of our search and months later having not found any other venue which ticked all the boxes we came back and confirmed our booking. It has everything you need from the gardens (which in the Spring just looked stunning though we were blessed to have good weather on the day), bridal getting ready suite and overnight stays, an outdoor marquee area and the venue itself (both the hotel and the Garden Suite) are very elegant. My point of contact was Belinda who was incredibly helpful and responsive throughout the process. She went out of her way to answer all queries promptly and made the process as smooth as possible for us. Belinda had even requested the in-house head chef who very kindly put together a South Asian style menu for us if we wanted to get the catering in-house. We had gone for dry hire and they were very flexible with our chosen caterers and decorators. If you get the right decorators they can help to create a perfect setup and stage for photos in the main ballroom along with the banqueting tablets and with the view out into the garden all the way around the room it just looks spectacular. All the guests had a great time and were full of praises. I cannot recommend the venue highly enough!

Thank you to Celeste, Belinda, Scott and the wider Gorse Hill team for the most incredible wedding day. Their help throughout the wedding planning process over the last 10 months was instrumental to the day's success. They answered my (many) questions over email, on the phone and in person with professionalism, and left me feeling like no task was too big or small for the team to handle.

The day itself was stunning and ran smoothly. We received several comments on the day about the beautiful grounds, decor and overall vibe of the hotel/venue. Several guests loved the wedding breakfast and said it was the best wedding food they'd ever had. Everyone who stayed over had a lovely and comfortable stay.

Considering how much of a mammoth operation a wedding is on the day, I thought the day's running was very smooth overall. As for the small mishaps that happened on the day (the best-laid plans...), Scott and the GH team handled them without any complaints whatsoever and seamlessly amended plans as needed. It made the situation much less stressful and was handled superbly.

There must have been so much coordination on the day with our other vendors that we didn't even see while we were getting ready, so thanks again to the GH team for helping set everything up and making our day absolutely perfect. We'd recommend Gorse Hill to anyone looking for a gorgeous country house wedding in Surrey.

We truly had the most wonderful wedding day at Gorse Hill Hotel and so much of that was down to the beautiful setting but more importantly, the amazing staff there. Our wedding co-ordinator (Celeste Pederzolli) was absolutely fantastic from our first meeting through until the wedding weekend, guiding us brilliantly and making us feel 100% confident that it was going to be a great day because she obviously knew what she was doing, understood our personalities and what we were looking for, was totally calm and professional throughout, but so friendly and approachable with it. Our friends and family have been in awe about the fact that we never once felt stressed about the wedding, but we didn't need to be as we knew in Celeste, we were in extremely safe hands.
The food at our tasting, and again on the day, was delicious; the Chef and their team are exceptional. The plethora of very clean plates was a testament to how good the meal was, we had so many guests say on the day and in the couple of days after how tasty it was, and we've even had people asking what was in each course as it was so good, they want to try and recreate it.
All of the staff in the hotel from reception, to the bar staff, to the wait staff at dinner and breakfast were professional yet friendly and the team that worked throughout our wedding breakfast and evening reception were excellent, extremely professional and efficient.
As well as saying another special thank you to Celeste for being such a font of information and a total rock for the 16 months between our initial meeting and the wedding, we also wanted to say how wonderful her colleague, Mia, was on the day. She guided us expertly through the afternoon and evening and was, like Celeste, that perfect mix of friendliness and professionalism. One of our guests was so impressed with her attentiveness to our older, less able-bodied relatives and how Mia diligently but discreetly took care of them and made sure they had enough to eat and drink, that they sought us out on the day to tell us how wonderful she had been and how grateful they were. Celeste and Mia are true credits to the brilliant Gorse Hill team.
We really can't fully put into words how wonderful the whole weekend, and particularly the wedding day, was. The lovely house and grounds are impressive and everyone loved them, but beautiful scenery alone wouldn't have made our wedding as fantastic and fun as it was - that was definitely all down to Celeste, Mia and every other member of staff at Gorse Hill. There is literally nothing we would change about our our day / weekend because it was so perfect. Celeste and the entire team at Gorse Hill really did help us have the most special and magical day that we could have hoped for.

We got married at Gorse Hill in May 2023 and had the most beautiful outdoor ceremony in the gardens with the reception in the garden suite. The grounds were presine and it was great have various areas for our guests to be in throughout the day.

The organisation leading up to and on the day was smooth with no hiccups. Belinda was on holiday and she left us in the very capable hands of Celeste. The day ran like clockwork, leaving us to just enjoy the day and not have to worry about a thing.

The food was incredible and all our guests complimented us on this post wedding. Tasted as good as our menu tasting.

We would absolutely reccomend this as a wedding venue. Everything was just as amazing as we hope for.

From first contact till last the entire Gorse Hill team made the day and the wedding experience the best day we could ever have hoped for. Celeste (originally) and Belinda were always available to give advice or provide clarity and would always go that extra mile to make sure our day was exactly how we wanted it. Only issue we had (which may well have been looked into by now) is the way that additional dinner choices are priced. I wont go into detail as its a bit complex but we ended up paying significantly more than we expected to because we wanted more than one choice of dinner menu. That aside the venue, the people, the accommodation were exceptional and I would highly recommend the venue .

We were very pleased with the service we had for our wedding. The contact we had from Belinda and the team was timely and really helpful, particularly in the time leading up to the wedding. They answered all our little queries and we felt well supported with members of the team on the day which meant a lot to us. The venue itself is stunning and our guests were made to feel welcome. We had so many positive comments about the delicious food. So much stress was taken out of the planning by the team. We'd love to do it all over again and would highly recommend it as a venue.

We used Gorse hill as the venue for our wedding in April 2023 and couldn’t have been more happy. Having our own separate building just for our wedding made it really special and the staff were really attentive and great with our guests and us on the day. In the run up to the wedding they were good at corresponding with us and answering any questions that we had about our day.

As a bride with many allergies, they couldn’t have been better. I am not able to have most items on normal menus and they designed a bespoke menu for just me. They then made it for me to try in advance which meant I didn’t have to worry about what I ate on the day. They never made me feel like it was a problem and were also very accommodating to our guests with allergies and intolerances.

We thank Gorse hill again for making our wedding day magical and would highly recommend them to anyone deciding on venues!

The Venue:
As soon as we visited Gorse Hill we knew that it was the venue where we wanted to share one of the best days of our lives. We booked the same day we saw it, to have our wedding reception! We were blown away by the grounds and standard of the lower building where the reception took place. We had 100 people in there and it was spacious yet cosy at the same time. Likewise, the main hotel was fabulous and the honeymoon suite was extremely comfy, it has a balcony for the bride and groom to privately toast and relax after a wonderful day as well. The gardens were amazing with games on offer throughout the day and some lovely places to stroll with a glass of Prosecco. It's also lovely for mass people photos and if you want a sparkler send off too! (Plus if the weather is grim there is a lot of shelter, not that we needed it!)

The Staff:
The event team and staff were great in the main - they were very attentive to detail and ensured a smooth transition for different parts of the day and evening. One lesson for any new couple would be to ensure that the waiters be instructed when it comes to wedding cake. We had a lot of cake left over which is annoying when you pay a lot for it so getting them to hand out at the end would have been good.

Catering:
Overall, the food was immaculate and many people I spoke to loved the 3 course meal. The main and dessert were exceptional. The evening meal choice of an American buffet was great and catered for many. The breakfast the morning after is a lovely touch and sends people off home in a nice way.

Extras:
We'd definitely recommend using Denise Winter as the photographer and who affiliated with Gorse Hill. Likewise, they provided a useful list of people (such as DJ, Photographers, decor etc).

We picked Gorse Hill because it was a stunning location and it had everything we wanted in one place.

The ceremony room looked perfect on the day, the food was delicious and plentiful, with many of our guests saying how nice it was. A very short walk to evening area which had a huge bar area and great space for dancing was perfect to welcome more guests. Equally the evening American style buffet was awesome and went down a treat.

From start to finish the staff at Gorse Hill were super organized, polite and helpful, everything you want from a team who are there to make a special day run like clockwork. We will never forget this day, thank you!

We were looking for a wedding venue where everyone attending could stay on site and we could make a weekend of it.

We had never heard of Gorse Hill until I found it on hitched, with the Georgian Manor house and the more modern conference suite ticking our boxes of wanting somewhere traditional but with the modern comforts such as air-conditioning for the dancefloor. Proximity to Woking provided lots of alternative transport and hotel options for our guests. Having exclusive use of the conference suite was great and made the whole experience more private.
Belinda the wedding coordinator was really helpful and put us in touch with their recommended suppliers for flowers and band. Both of them were excellent. We also chose to extend the evening requesting a late license from the council which was granted.
We did not want to design our menu from scratch, so having a shortlist we could pick from and adjust was ideal as well as easily addressing allergies. Belinda also arranged for the bridal preparation room to be moved to an accessible suite to accommodate a wheelchair. We also had on the day coordinator who helped make sure everything ran smoothly - and we got canapés!. All of our guests commented positively on the both of food and the presentation of it for example the whole table received their food at the same time avoiding that awkward moment where all but one person has their food.
The only issue we had was there was no preparation space for the groom. We had stayed the night before as a wedding party with the groom staying in a single room. It was expected that he would get ready here, which was quite cramped.

I got married in 2022 at Gorsehill hotel and the day was amazing from start to finish, my wedding co ordinator did such an amazing job with everything I asked for. The tables for the wedding breakfast looked beautiful, the food was lovely and everything went so smoothly. What I liked even more was the separate building just down a path from the hotel where we had the evening reception. There were lots of lights which made it look really pretty in the evening. We had lots of photos outside which looked fantastic as the grounds were so beautiful. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone getting married, all the staff were very professional and did a amazing job. Thank you again Gorsehill for making our day so special.

We had our wedding at Gorse hill on saturday 1st july 2023. We had the best wedding day ever. The entire wedding team were fantastic through the entire wedding planning process and on the day itself. The day ran so smoothly thanks to the team working that day. The food was amazing and we had so many compliments. So glad we chose to have our Wedding at gorse hill.
