Built in 1912, the Edwardian mansion at Gorse Hill, Woking offers a selection of elegant event spaces to host all aspects of your wedding celebration. The venue is licenced for civil ceremonies, allowing you to enjoy your entire day here. The Mansion House is available for ceremonies of 90 guests and offers a regal ambience for vow exchanges. The perfect venue
We held our wedding reception (Walima) in June 2024 in the Garden Suite at Gorse Hill Hotel and it was one of the best decisions made. We initially visited it at the start of our search and months later having not found any other venue which ticked all the boxes we came back and confirmed our booking. It has everything you need from the gardens (which in the Spring just looked stunning though we were blessed to have good weather on the day), bridal getting ready suite and overnight stays, an outdoor marquee area and the venue itself (both the hotel and the Garden Suite) are very elegant. My point of contact was Belinda who was incredibly helpful and responsive throughout the process. She went out of her way to answer all queries promptly and made the process as smooth as possible for us. Belinda had even requested the in-house head chef who very kindly put together a South Asian style menu for us if we wanted to get the catering in-house. We had gone for dry hire and they were very flexible with our chosen caterers and decorators. If you get the right decorators they can help to create a perfect setup and stage for photos in the main ballroom along with the banqueting tablets and with the view out into the garden all the way around the room it just looks spectacular. All the guests had a great time and were full of praises. I cannot recommend the venue highly enough!

Wonderful, 10/10 experience with Gorse Hill
Thank you to Celeste, Belinda, Scott and the wider Gorse Hill team for the most incredible wedding day. Their help throughout the wedding planning process over the last 10 months was instrumental to the day's success. They answered my (many) questions over email, on the phone and in person with professionalism, and left me feeling like no task was too big or small for the team to handle.
The day itself was stunning and ran smoothly. We received several comments on the day about the beautiful grounds, decor and overall vibe of the hotel/venue. Several guests loved the wedding breakfast and said it was the best wedding food they'd ever had. Everyone who stayed over had a lovely and comfortable stay.
Considering how much of a mammoth operation a wedding is on the day, I thought the day's running was very smooth overall. As for the small mishaps that happened on the day (the best-laid plans...), Scott and the GH team handled them without any complaints whatsoever and seamlessly amended plans as needed. It made the situation much less stressful and was handled superbly.
There must have been so much coordination on the day with our other vendors that we didn't even see while we were getting ready, so thanks again to the GH team for helping set everything up and making our day absolutely perfect. We'd recommend Gorse Hill to anyone looking for a gorgeous country house wedding in Surrey.

The Ultimate Wedding Experience. Perfect hosts, perfect venue, perfect day…..and still married two years on.
From first contact till last the entire Gorse Hill team made the day and the wedding experience the best day we could ever have hoped for. Celeste (originally) and Belinda were always available to give advice or provide clarity and would always go that extra mile to make sure our day was exactly how we wanted it. Only issue we had (which may well have been looked into by now) is the way that additional dinner choices are priced. I wont go into detail as its a bit complex but we ended up paying significantly more than we expected to because we wanted more than one choice of dinner menu. That aside the venue, the people, the accommodation were exceptional and I would highly recommend the venue .

Beautiful, Classy & Reliable!
The Venue:
As soon as we visited Gorse Hill we knew that it was the venue where we wanted to share one of the best days of our lives. We booked the same day we saw it, to have our wedding reception! We were blown away by the grounds and standard of the lower building where the reception took place. We had 100 people in there and it was spacious yet cosy at the same time. Likewise, the main hotel was fabulous and the honeymoon suite was extremely comfy, it has a balcony for the bride and groom to privately toast and relax after a wonderful day as well. The gardens were amazing with games on offer throughout the day and some lovely places to stroll with a glass of Prosecco. It's also lovely for mass people photos and if you want a sparkler send off too! (Plus if the weather is grim there is a lot of shelter, not that we needed it!)
The Staff:
The event team and staff were great in the main - they were very attentive to detail and ensured a smooth transition for different parts of the day and evening. One lesson for any new couple would be to ensure that the waiters be instructed when it comes to wedding cake. We had a lot of cake left over which is annoying when you pay a lot for it so getting them to hand out at the end would have been good.
Catering:
Overall, the food was immaculate and many people I spoke to loved the 3 course meal. The main and dessert were exceptional. The evening meal choice of an American buffet was great and catered for many. The breakfast the morning after is a lovely touch and sends people off home in a nice way.
Extras:
We'd definitely recommend using Denise Winter as the photographer and who affiliated with Gorse Hill. Likewise, they provided a useful list of people (such as DJ, Photographers, decor etc).

Gorsehill 2022
I got married in 2022 at Gorsehill hotel and the day was amazing from start to finish, my wedding co ordinator did such an amazing job with everything I asked for. The tables for the wedding breakfast looked beautiful, the food was lovely and everything went so smoothly. What I liked even more was the separate building just down a path from the hotel where we had the evening reception. There were lots of lights which made it look really pretty in the evening. We had lots of photos outside which looked fantastic as the grounds were so beautiful. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone getting married, all the staff were very professional and did a amazing job. Thank you again Gorsehill for making our day so special.

Wedding day at gorse hill 1st July 2023
We had our wedding at Gorse hill on saturday 1st july 2023. We had the best wedding day ever. The entire wedding team were fantastic through the entire wedding planning process and on the day itself. The day ran so smoothly thanks to the team working that day. The food was amazing and we had so many compliments. So glad we chose to have our Wedding at gorse hill.

Fantastic venue
Gorse Hill was a fantastic venue for our wedding. The grounds and reception rooms were lovely with lots of space. The staff responded very promptly to queries throughout in the time leading up to the wedding, which made planning the day so much easier. On the day everything happened on time and went completely to plan, which was thanks to the organisation and professionalism of the staff. The hotel accomodation for all our guests was also fantastic. We would recommend the venue to anyone. We loved it as soon as we arrived for our first viewing and had a brilliant and very special day there.

Perfect Day at the Perfect Venue!
We will never be able to put into words how much Belinda and team supported us on planning our day. Also huge thanks to Scott, who we genuinely controlled all aspects of our day and made it run so perfectly. All the staff were amazing.

Wedding August 23
My husband and I got married at gorse hill in august last year. As soon as we drove to the venue I knew this was the place for me. I loved how I could have the ceremony and reception in one place and all guests could park and stay too. From start to finish, Belinda was excellent. Nothing was ever too much trouble and she catered to all of our needs and wants. She provided very helpful advice and we had check ins prior to the wedding which made sure everything went without a hitch.
The venues were beautiful and we received a glass of champagne after the ceremony and a moment of quiet with my new husband which we both greatly appreciated.
The service of food and drink was amazing. Everyone loved the food which can be hard to cater to everyone’s needs and wants but it was amazing. Scott was amazing at informing us of everything and also to keeping the bar flowing. Everything was seamlessly changed into the dance floor as our guests waited in the large garden room and outside area.
Many of my wedding suppliers knew of gorse hill so delivering items and placement was carried out all without any input from myself which is a great help on a happy but stressful morning.
The grounds are stunning and the backdrop made for beautiful wedding photos in the sun as our guests enjoyed a drink and canapé on the veranda.
The provision of rooms to get ready in with my bridesmaids and the breakfast provided on the day of and after was great. Everything was just so perfect.
I could go on and on at this point, a truly beautiful day and perfect start to married life. I would highly recommend to anyone!!

Beautiful Venue and Brilliant team
We had our wedding at Gorse Hill Hotel in October 2022. We had the most amazing wedding weekend at Gorse Hill Hotel and everything went so perfectly. The team were brilliant on the day but also in the planning stages leading up to the wedding. The venue is beautiful, no request was too difficult for the team and we cannot thank them enough for making our day so special.

Perfect Wedding Day
Our wedding day was perfect at Gorse Hill.
The venue and grounds are beautiful.
The staff were very professional and attentive, Belinda was brilliant and so helpful in the run up to and on the day.

Absolutely wonderful experience!
The team at the hotel, in particular Belinda Willoughby helped make our wedding day on the 4th June 2023, the best day of my life!
Not only did she listen to all of our needs, she had no problem carrying out all our requests and made the day run seamlessly! She always answered my questions, and was always so friendly and accommodating. She even helped calm my nerves on the day.
It was such a wonderful experience from beginning to end. I am so grateful to all the staff that worked so hard to make it the most perfect day.

Couldn't have asked for more from our venue or the team. 10/10!
We chose Gorse Hill for our April 2023 wedding as it had the perfect balance of charm and character, social spaces and beautiful gardens as well as plenty of accommodation for our guests, many of whom were travelling from far away. We found the pricings to be very reasonable, including the bar prices (a very important factor!) and the food was incredible. The standard of food served on the day matched that from our tasting, we had such great feedback on how delicious everything was and the portions were generous!
The biggest highlight for me however were the team helping run our day. Everything went so beyond smoothly, we didn't have to worry about a thing, but, when we did have a question someone was always on hand to help us quickly.
We had our ceremony in the mansion house and the evening reception in the function suite and this worked so perfectly for us. We loved being able to make full use of the facilities and not have to re-use rooms. The weather sadly wasn't on our side but there was plenty of outdoor shelter for those that wanted some fresh air which made all the difference, and it never felt too crowded.
Belinda was a joy to work with, I couldn't fault her patience in the lead up to the wedding when I had a million questions and the team overall are a credit to the hotel.

A perfect location for a perfect autumnal wedding
Gorse Hill was honestly a perfect location for us. We got married in the garden suite which was an area just for our wedding day. The trees surrounding were gorgeous and gave us the exact vibe we wanted to create. As a supplier gorse hill were great. They were open to all ideas we had, communicated really well and never gave us a pushy sales pitch we did experience at other venues.
The day of the wedding went so smoothly and all morning hiccups with guest not turning up they made sure the table set up was changed to reflect the new set up. Would get married here all over again!
I cannot express how happy we were to say ‘I do’ at Gorse Hill. I fell it love with it from the moment I saw it, perfect for our occasion! We had seen many venues beforehand and none of them felt right for us. We had booked within half an hour of viewing the venue. We met Belinda a few months after booking and I was so worried that meeting a new planner would cause problems but it did in fact do the opposite, she was incredible. Even down to the moments before walking down the aisle she was professional, helpful and friendly. Would definitely get married here all over again! Can’t wait to come back some time soon!
