I never imagined my wedding would be somewhere as stunning as Gosfield hall but from the minute we saw this venue we knew it was the one for us and didn't bother viewing anymore venues as we had already made our minds up about having our wedding here! We were absolutely blown away with the natural beauty of Gosfield hall and so booked two years in advance of our wedding day! The professionalism and advice we received from Linda was super helpful and informative on the run up to our wedding as there is soo much to think about! We loved that we could have our day and evening all in one place aswell as the option weather permitting to have our wedding ceremony outside. I'm pleased to say the weather was absolutely perfect on our wedding day and we got to have our fairytale wedding outside! The package we paid for was well worth the money! Our guests were absolutely spoilt on our day and have all said it was the best wedding they've ever been too! It was amazing to have our guests stay over aswell! Jocie our wedding planner was absolutely amazing! She was sooo friendly and super accommodating and went above and beyond on our day to make it absolutely perfect with no hiccups! She even helped dress me on the day as she knew how to do up a corset dress and my mother didn't have a clue lol she made all my wedding details and decorations come to life and done such a stunning job decorating our dream venue aswell as being super supportive towards me my family and guests! The honeymoon suite is the best we've ever seen and completely took ours and our guests breaths away! Mind blowing! The food,venue,grounds,accomodation and night before accomodation were absolutely stunning and we want to thank everyone at Gosfield hall for making our day soo incredible and special and a day we and our guests will never forget! We can't wait to return to Gosfield! Thank you everyone at Gosfield what an amazing place!

The venue is stunning and was the perfect setting for our winter wedding (so much natural light even in January). Jocie Golbourn was our assigned wedding planning specialist and she is so kind, sweet, patient and professional. All our guests loved the venue but many actually commented on how flawless and seamless the day was organised and rooms decorated and prepared from each section of the wedding and we only have Jocie and venue staff to thank for their meticulous planning and preparations. The food and drinks were delicious. Couldn’t recommend this venue enough- we actually booked the venue on a whim and were SO happy when we visited for an open day. There’s no false advertisements- it’s stunning.

Everything, from start to finish, was exactly what we wanted and more. The preparation was helped by our wonderful personal manager, Tara, and accommodated each and every one of our requests and needs. The venue is gorgeous, food delicious, and atmosphere felt special. Our friends and family all told us that this was such a spectacular wedding for them that it was the best they've ever been to. We felt completely taken care of, kept us calm and happy throughout the day, and kept all of our suppliers in place and to standard. It felt glamourous and unique. We wish we could relive the day over and over. It really was our dream wedding.

Having just got married at Gosfield Hall I can honestly say it was the most beautiful venue and the most perfect day. The staff were so attentive and professional. The food was outstanding and the drinks and cocktails were fabulous. They couldn’t do enough to make sure our day was everything we’d dreamt of. I have to say a special thanks to Ellie - one of the wedding coordinators on site - she went above and beyond to help us plan our day and was there from the very moment I woke up delivering fresh pastries for breakfast to the moment she made me a cup of tea to go to bed with. I can’t thank you enough Ellie, you are an absolute credit to Gosfield Hall.

The venue is spectacular and was perfect for our day. We wanted somewhere with lots of space and having each element of our wedding in a different setting was what really attracted us here. The bedrooms rooms are amazing and the facilities are second to none.
Jocie was our wedding planner and we really don’t know how the day would have run without her. Everything was seamless and it really took the pressure away from us allowing us to enjoy our day.

We had the most perfect winter wedding at Gosfield. Everything from the surroundings, staff and food and drink were simply perfect. Jess our wedding manager was absolutely brilliant and was there from start to finish, ensuring everything went to plan. The accommodation was fab including the ladies chambers and Marquis the night before.

Gosfield Hall was the first and last wedding venue that we looked at on our wedding planning journey. From the moment we arrived for our viewing we knew that it was the one! All of the staff are so friendly and go above and beyond to accommodate you. However a massive shoutout needs to go our dedicated wedding planner Jocie. From our first conversation Jocie understood our vision and helped us to achieve our dream wedding. All the way up until the big day she assisted us with any queries or last minute changes we needed to make. On the day she was like our fairy godmother ensuring that the day went smoothly and that any last minute issues such as a missing buttonhole were resolved before we even had time to stress about it! Wow we had the most amazing wedding day here in May this year, Tara was our wedding manager and she made sure everything was just perfect, all the attention to detail in the build up, making both my husband and I feel special and looked after, and our guests were totally blown away by the hospitality on the day, food was absolutely amazing and we have had guests say they have never had such nice food at a wedding before, Tara and the team really mad all our dreams for our big day a reality and we can thank them enough. Jess and her team were so helpful in the lead up to the wedding, going above and beyond to create a memorable day -accommodating many last min changes! We had such an amazing wedding day! The venue, staff and organisation was outstanding! The food was phenomenal and they catered for all guests with allergies and intolerances. All the guests at the wedding have commented on how good the food was! Would highly recommend! Special thank you to Tara our wedding planner who helped run the day, she made it so special and it run so smoothly. Overall we had the best day and we wouldn’t have changed anything!

My husband and I had our wedding here just over a month ago and we are so glad we chose to have it in Gosfield Hall. Not only is the place stunning but the overall process from communication with staff to arranging details on the day has been so smooth and transparent. Special thanks to our on the day wedding coordinator Jocie and to all the staff who made our special day so memorable. They say planning a wedding is hard and it is but it becomes a breeze when you have the right people around you to support and enable your vision to come true.

Our wedding at Gosfield Hall in May 2022 was incredible. Everything we had hoped for and more. All of the staff on the day did an amazing job and our wedding manager Jocie was an absolute superstar. She really went above and beyond both leading up to our special day and on the day itself. She was always really quick to respond to us on any queries and was extremely patient with us. It was nice to be able to relax on the day and know all the details were being handled.

This review is a tale of two halves which gives an overall experience we had for our wedding in September 2022.

The venue is stunning - that is not in question. The on-the-ground team were amazing and did all they could to make our day special. We had the best two days at Gosfield Hall and a very emotional and beautiful wedding.

Our wedding coordinator, Ellie, is a credit to Gosfield Hall - her attention to detail, support for us and our guests, humour, and care was exceptional. We hope Gosfield Hall / Country House Weddings recognise this. Others have been exceptional since we booked our wedding in the summer of 2019 (unfortunately, due to Covid, we had to rearrange dates twice), but they have since left the organisation.

However, whilst the on-the-ground team and Ellie were exceptional, the management of Gosfield Hall left a lot to be desired. Please be cautious if you are looking to book your wedding with them, and ensure you read the terms and conditions thoroughly before you pay any deposit. I recommend you sit and review it with one of their onsite teams to ensure absolute clarity. They will aim to use the terms and conditions against you, if not during the planning stage of your wedding, then post the wedding.

They tried to make us pay nearly £7,000 to move our wedding date from 2021 to 2022 but soon changed their mind once we outlined the legal advice we had been given.

They also, post the wedding, levied a charge for a missing umbrella and a room key (which, in the grand scheme of what we paid for the venue, is minuscule). We had no awareness of the provision of umbrellas and that there was no rain; therefore, no need to use an umbrella during our event seemed lost on the venue management. The room key (which we were aware of) had been returned the following week rather than on the day of check-out.

We recommend you walk the site with your wedding coordinator, asking them to point out what potentially 'missing items' you could be held liable for at the start of your stay.

Without a doubt, the most disappointing aspect of our engagement was the receipt of an email from the venue manager intended for the previous night's wedding party, where charges were levied due to what was claimed to be evidence of smoking in four rooms. The email went on to state the following:

"Unfortunately we are going to have to charge you as we were unable to use the rooms for Friday's wedding as the smell was so strong."

Initially, this was confusing as our wedding was on Friday, and all rooms were fully booked. Furthermore, the groom and best man got ready for the wedding ceremony in one of the rooms that could not be used, and there was no noticeable smell of cigarette smoke which would have been evident to us as non-smokers. We became aware that the venue management of Gosfield Hall is willing to knowingly make false statements to justify the levy charges to clients, so we were not surprised when we received our levies.

We escalated our concerns about their communication and charges to Country House Wedding Directors. Their initial response did not answer our queries, so we followed up and requested a more thorough response. Although these levies were subsequently refunded, and we were offered a complimentary meal and stay, which we declined, we are yet to receive a response to our second communication to them and have now waited three weeks for an answer. We do not believe this will be forthcoming.

So, in summary, beautiful venue with a fantastic on-the-ground team but poor management and leadership who will try to get more monies from you for incorrect, missing items or interpretations of their loosely worded terms and conditions, which means we are unable to recommend this venue.
