Hidden Acres is a magnificent wedding venue nestled in the countryside of Netherfield, Battle, East Sussex. The property spans 300 acres of woodland within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, located near the historic towns of Battle and Hastings.
Hidden Acres offers an enchanting countryside setting, perfect for your special day. As guests arrive, they pass through a charming gatehouse, beautifully lit with festoon lights, setting the mood right from the start. They’ll catch glimpses of the impressive farmhouse before stepping onto the well-kept garden surrounding the property. The farmhouse accommodates up to 14 guests, featuring luxurious master bedrooms that can double as prep spaces for the wedding party. The ceremony lawn can host up to 120 guests, with seating for 120 under the marquee.
In addition to its stunning rural views, Hidden Acres provides all the essentials for your wedding, including a marquee, lighting, tables, chairs, a dance floor, and a PA system (until 5 pm). You’ll also have access to a fully licensed bar, staffed by the friendly Hidden Acres team. The venue includes the services of a wedding coordinator to ensure everything runs smoothly, plus a parking field that holds up to 40 cars. Hidden Acres also offers a variety of stylish props—like signs, lanterns, wheelbarrows, and milk churns—so you can add your personal touch.
You’ll have exclusive access to the farmhouse for three days and two nights, allowing you to settle in before your big day. Arrive early, customise the marquee, and rehearse with your coordinator. Enjoy the luxury of preparing in elegant master bedrooms, giving both parties plenty of space. Located just 10 meters from the ceremony and marquee lawn, the farmhouse offers easy access during the event for guests needing a break or a quiet moment. Plus, you’ll love sneaking peeks at your guests arriving from the farmhouse windows!

A beautiful place
It gives the perfect cosy and remote feeling whilst also being pretty close to the nearest town of Battle that has everything you need last minute.
The views from the garden are so lovely, all woodland and a few cute sheep but not a single other house in sight. And then the house itself is really lovely, and perfect size for the main wedding party to get ready in and have a nice dinner etc the night before.
It was beautiful at sunset too with all the little fairy lights and lanterns around.
A Perfect Day
The flat rate fee at Hidden Acres made planning easy. They provided everything we needed—like the property, marquee, tables, chairs, and even access to the styling shed, which saved us a lot of money! We also made use of their lawn games, which added a fun touch to the overall atmosphere.
The coordinator support was fantastic—Sarah gave us a thorough briefing and made sure every detail was covered. Sarah also oversaw the entire day, working closely with our bridesmaids and groomsmen to ensure everyone was where they needed to be and that we stayed on schedule.
For food, we opted for a hog roast, which was a huge hit with our guests! Hidden Acres allows you to choose your own catering. We also enjoyed free corkage during the day, which was a great bonus!
Wedding Delight!
The afternoon before the wedding was spent adding our personal touches to the marquee, followed by an early night. Waking up on the property made everything feel so special. With three master bedrooms, both the groomsmen and bridesmaids could get ready in separate rooms, which made the morning even more relaxed. Sneakily watching our guests arrive from the house was a delightful experience!
The ceremony lawn is absolutely stunning—sweeping countryside views and a perfectly flat lawn made for a picturesque setting. The venue provided chairs, a PA system, and a sound engineer, which gave us peace of mind knowing everyone could clearly hear the ceremony.
Afterward, the venue brought out lawn games, and our guests had plenty of seating and shade. At 3:45, we were called to the marquee, which was bright, airy, and perfect for our reception. The sides could be rolled up to allow for extra airflow, which was a welcome relief on the warmer afternoon. The venue provided all the tables and chairs. We provided corkage-free drinks from 1-5 pm, and at 5, the venue’s fully stocked bar opened with all the popular drinks. The staff was incredibly friendly, and Sarah ensured everything ran smoothly. It was such a relief knowing all the details were being looked after so we could truly relax and enjoy the day.
Sarah’s meticulous planning helped us prepare for every detail in advance. We opted for paella catering, which was fantastic! The day felt magical, and the sunset over the meadow created breathtaking photos that we’ll cherish forever.
We partied until 11 pm, when quiet hours began. Then we gathered around the campfire for the rest of the evening, continuing the celebration in a more intimate setting. The venue also provided three bell tents, allowing more of our friends to stay on-site. Additionally, we had free access to the props and styling shed, we choose a range of rugs, pillows, milk churns, and lanterns to add that touch.
A massive thank you to Hidden Acres for allowing us to be one of the first couples to marry here! The day was organised with military precision, and it was, without a doubt, the best day of my life.
