Hilltop Country House is a beautiful wedding venue located in the heart of the Cheshire countryside in Prestbury, England. Nothing is standard at this exclusive and elegant country estate. The house is brimming with historic charm, while the staff are experienced and helpful. Surrounded by pastoral landscapes of whispering woods and gently rolling fields, the venue offers a spectacular and secluded setting for your romantic day.
Facilities and Capacity
Hilltop Country House is a stunning 17th-century manor house that is dripping with ivy. This fresh, verdant backdrop will frame your outdoor ceremony, which can be held on the terrace (seats 130 guests) or top lawn (seats 150 guests). Here, you will be surrounded by the manicured yet subtly wild landscaping that characterises the classic English garden. If you prefer a covered location for your exchange of vows, the marquee and garden room will be at your disposal. The glass-sided marquee is the perfect blank canvas and has a maximum capacity of 180 people. If you're planning a smaller, more intimate gathering, the garden room, which can hold up to 66 people, is a great choice. The house also has a luxurious bridal suite and three en-suite bedrooms for your guests. The rooms are all immaculately appointed to ensure that your experience is flawless from beginning to end.
Services Offered
The Hilltop Country House team build a close relationship with all of their couples, allowing them to translate your ideas and dreams into reality. They offer bespoke menus and packages, last-minute deals, and late availability bookings. You don't even need to worry about decorating the venue yourself. All you have to do is drop off the table decorations, name cards, and favours, and the events staff will take care of the rest. They invite you to contact them to discuss your wedding plans and arrange a visit.
Food and Drink
Hilltop cater for all your food and drink needs in-house with their excellent kitchen and bar team, just to make the planning process that little bit easier. Head chef Iain and his kitchen team work closely aloingside Paul Merrett, a two-time winner of a Michelin star. Paul is an accomplished author, has been on TV many times and now runs two award-winning gastro pubs in London. Their dedicated bar manager Cameron and his team of mixologists will serve up your favourite drinks. From signature cocktail menus to perfectly paired wines. Together, Hilltop's catering team will ensure to deliver a dining experience you'll never forget.

Hilltop Country House - A beautiful venue anytime of the year!
We celebrated our wedding at Hilltop Country House back in April and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue. From the very beginning, all the way through to our magical day, everyone was incredibly accommodating and nothing was ever too much trouble.
From the moment we arrived on the day of our first viewing, we were enchanted by the beautiful surroundings.
The setting is truly picturesque, with stunning gardens and serene countryside views that provided a breathtaking backdrop for our special day. The attention to detail in both the indoor and outdoor spaces is impeccable, making every corner of the venue a potential spot for memorable photos.
The staff at Hilltop Country House were phenomenal. They went above and beyond to ensure that everything ran smoothly and that our needs were met. Upon my arrival the morning of the wedding, I was surprised at how instantly relaxed I felt and knew that everything would come together. Their dedication and professionalism were evident from the planning stages right through to the end of our wedding day. No request was too big or small; they were always there with a smile, ready to assist.
The food was a massive highlight with many of our guests commenting on the quality of the Michelin star food and how delicious and beautifully presented the dishes were. Even having our very own his and her cocktails created especially for our day was a truly special touch. The catering team did an outstanding job, ensuring everyone was well-fed and happy.

Our Dream Wedding
We can't thank Clare and her team enough, they were kind, thoughtful, and determined to deliver our dream day. Our friends and family had a fantastic time and we have been inundated with compliments on the beauty of the venue, the delicious food, but perhaps most of all how kind, thoughtful and friendly all the staff were. Everything exceeded expectations and the whole day went off without a hitch. The space is perfect for a mixed group, with some of our friends exploring the gardens, others hitting the dance floor in the boogie room and we loved watching the kids play with the garden games outside the marquee during the wedding breakfast. Clare is exceptional and is a key reason our wedding day was so perfect and I'm sure she will look after any couple who book Hilltop Country House. She and her team look out for opportunities to make each wedding unique, from decoration, to a bespoke cocktail, to having a nook dedicated to our pictures. Our only regret is not being able to do it again.

Magical day!
Wonderful wedding! Beautiful location, friendly and attentive staff, excellent food. Ideal location for up to 50 guests. Lots of flexibility in the options for menus and drinks packages. All our guests were extremely impressed with Hilltop House and had a fantastic day. Bedrooms were great, especially the bridal suite! Special thanks to Olivia, Beth and Emile, but a very big thank you to all the team!

Hilltop made our special day perfect!
We got married at Hilltop just under a month ago and the day was absolutely perfect.
The planning process was really straightforward thanks to Clare and her years of experience and we went into the day feeling relaxed and prepared.
The venue itself is beautiful, with picturesque countryside views from all sides and pretty plants and flowers all through the gardens. The photo of us in amongst the bluebells is really special and you can even spot the skyline of Manchester in the distance over the rolling hills at the back of the house.
The food was excellent - the menus have options to suit everyone with local ingredients (including herbs from their own garden) and we were thrilled with the quality and the taste of the wedding breakfast and the evening food.
All of our requests were accommodated with ease and all of the staff were friendly and welcoming. If you want to get married in a beautiful place which feels like home, then Hilltop is the venue for you.

The Perfect Garden Venue
We are SO glad we chose Hilltop for our wedding. The day was more special than we could ever have hoped for. Clare was very organised throughout. Being able to come to open days and the tasting event prior to our wedding was amazing. Olivia set up all my decor perfectly on the day. The gardens and outside seating area are stunning. The walk up the aisle through the garden seeing everyone up on the terrace was absolutely incredible. There are so many beautiful areas in the garden for photos. The food was impeccable and the cocktails and bar staff were amazing. And don’t get us started on the freshly cooked pizza in the evening!! Cannot recommend highly enough.

The Best day of our lives
The Best day of our lives happened on the 20th May 2023.
It all started on the 23rd Jan 2022 when I attended an open day with my neighbour and fell in love with Hilltop!
Right there and then I knew our Wedding had to be here, my now husband had never even seen it and trusted my judgement. Obviously I eventually brought him over and he saw in an instance what I saw on that day in January.
It was Clare who made our dreams come true, without her guidance and caring nature we may never have chosen Hilltop.
We want to thank Clare, Iain, Cameron, DJ Emil and the amazing team at Hilltop for making our day that extra bit special.
Clare also recommended an amazing photographer Joe Gardner (his photos are attached) who happened to be her son, he knew all the secret spots to get the greatest photos and stayed with us until 11pm.
We promise we will be back over soon for a catch up and a brew.

Stunning venue with excellent members of staff
We had our wedding reception at Hill Top in September 2022. From speaking to Clare on the phone and having a look around the venue we immediately fell in love with the place. Clare and the team are excellent, really helpful, nothing was ever an issue.
Iain the chef was open, honest and gave advice to how the menu in his opinion would be as we wanted to go around the menu.
The gardens are well maintained and in general beautiful.
Everything about Hill Top was excellent, couldn’t fault anything at all. It’s a shame we cant re-live that day as one of best days of our life’s helped out by all the team. 👏👏

Can we do it again?
We loved Hilltop so much! Everyone was so helpful, accommodating, flexible, supportive. And how important is it on the day! Starting from the breakfast in the room…they are professionals and also amazing people. They will make it the best day for you, they just know how. I wish we could do our wedding every year! :) Thank you!

Perfection
I don't know where to start with the words to begin and describe how amazing this venue and the team who run it are!
On our first visit to Hilltop we fell in love with the surroundings, the gardens, the views, the house, the marquee….just EVERYTHING. We loved the homely and family run nature of the business.
We subsequently got married at Hilltop late February 2023 and could not have asked for a more perfect venue. Our day was just fabulous from start to finish and Clare and her team could not have been more accommodating or on hand whenever we needed guidance. Clare was incredible and went out of her way to tailor our wedding to make it how we wanted it and was always on hand whenever we needed her.
The day couldn’t have run more smoothly, the team went above and beyond on every aspect to make our day just magical. Our guests cannot stop talking about the venue, the party and the food! Chef Iain made changes to the menu to accommodate everyone, and we really did feel like the menu had been made just for us.
The bar, variety of cocktails on offer (thank you to the staff!) and boogie room were all great and everyone has commented on how amazing the entire venue and atmosphere was.
We have created some incredible memories which will remain with us forever. There is a reason Hilltop has been voted the best wedding venue in Cheshire, we cannot recommend it enough! 5*******

Beautiful exclusive venue in the Cheshire countryside
A beautiful venue with wonderful staff. The process was made easy by Clare, Hilltop’s co-ordinator, who has a wealth of experience in weddings. The food was fantastic - one guest said the best wedding food they’d ever had! All the staff the day of the wedding were extremely welcoming and ensured the day went smoothly. Thank you much!

The perfect day, at the perfect venue
We fell in love with Hilltop as soon as we saw it. Clare and the whole team were so supportive of our many date changes (due to covid) and made the process so smooth for us.
The planning felt seamless both beforehand and the management of it on the day, and we loved being able to have a completely bespoke menu, Iain was a pleasure to work with on the food choices.
On the day everything went perfectly, we got ready at the venue, went to church and then returned for our reception. Our guests all commented on how beautiful the venue was . The flow of the day was really smooth, something that was very important to me, as I’ve been to many weddings where it’s felt disjointed being pushed out of a room and into another, changing the atmosphere of the day.
The bar was great and boogie room was perfect for our band and big party, leaving a quieter environment for the family in the marquee and outside was great to suit everyone’s needs.

A spectacularly spooky Halloween wedding
Claire and the team couldn’t do enough for our Halloween wedding. We had such a fabulous day with our friends and family. The food was standout - well worthy of the Michelin star - particularly the red pepper soup as a starter, steak pie as main followed by apple crumble with lashings of custard (bride’s request) for dessert were perfect. Our Halloween decor looked perfect with the Hilltop backdrop. Claire was always on hand to answer questions and Cameron the bar manager accommodated our drinks requests. A special mention to Joe the photographer- what a lovely man. He took the time to capture special family moments for us. We know we will keep in touch with Hilltop. Thank you x

Everything we hoped for
We really did have the very best day. It's such a beautiful venue and the team at Hilltop made it all so relaxed and easy, looking after us so well. The food, drink, music, everything was just perfect. Really can't recommend it enough!
