Historic Wedding Venues in Greater Manchester

We booked our wedding reception at the Old School Rooms. Trish and Dave were fab from the get go. Easily contactable and happy to help with everything. The wedding day ran beautifully, the whole team of staff were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. Food was perfect , had lots of good feedback around the menu choices. Couldn’t have asked for more from this venue and the staff, the venue is stunning and is a little hidden gem in middleton.

We just want to thank the staff at Edgar Wood for being such an amazing part of our wedding day. We were very impressed with the service we received & the building is just incredible. Our guests keep talking about how amazing & beautiful the venue is. Mine & my husbands families are born & raised in Manchester, but we never new this hidden gem existed until searching for wedding venues. The grounds are beautiful & there is so much space inside. Each room is just so beautiful that minimal decorations were needed. Steve & Rosie were so attentive & lovely. The only thing we would say in the slightly negative is that the official website states "The hall is equipped with a state-of-the-art PA system." which it does not, and early in the day ladies toilets became unusable & guests had to share the mens & accessible toilets - but considering Edgar Wood is a listed building, we understand the plumbing won't be state of the art. But other then that - thank you for everything, we had the most amazing day and we would highly recommend this venue to other couples.

The venue was a 'yes' as soon as we walked in the door. Beautiful period house and decor. We were looked after brilliantly by Katie, the wedding organiser, both before and during the day of the wedding. We felt lucky to celebrate with Katie and two of the volunteers (Cath and Jane? Sorry ladies, my mind was elsewhere!) who were responsive, friendly and kind. We had the best time. I recommend 100%.

Such a beautiful place, perfect for the right couple to get married there, old wooden beams, real beurial stone to walk upon floor, walled garden perfect for photographs as well as a courtyard and frond lawn to pose upon. very special place xx I have not attended a wedding there which needed to submit.

From the moment we saw Stockport Town Hall we knew it was the venue for us. Even un-decorated it looks really grand and once the windows are lit up from inside it's perfect. Over a year later we still receive comments about the venue. Great tip is to use the main entrance and staircase as a backdrop to any photos.

From our very first visit, we knew The Bowdon Rooms was for us. It offered a uniquely versatile and spacious venue, with such friendly, accommodating staff. Our wedding organiser, Karen, was so helpful - she offered guidance and advice whenever we needed it. With her expert assistance, the room looked fantastic. All guests commented on how good it looked and we were very happy. We literally had compliments on everything: the beautiful venue, the food, the staff, the location, the dancefloor ...even the Ed Sheeran look-a-like barman! We had an amazing experience and would do it all again tomorrow!

Could not of asked for a better service. While planning nothing was too much trouble. On the day everyone was just as helpful and my guests also commented how helpful the staff were. We held our wedding reception in the cloisters suit and there was another wedding on the same day, if they hadn't told us we would have never know they made sure we never bumped into each other. Overall this venue looks amazing and I could not of asked for better organisation. I can't recommend this venue enough.
