Historic Wedding Venues in North West - England

We booked our wedding reception at the Old School Rooms. Trish and Dave were fab from the get go. Easily contactable and happy to help with everything. The wedding day ran beautifully, the whole team of staff were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. Food was perfect , had lots of good feedback around the menu choices. Couldn’t have asked for more from this venue and the staff, the venue is stunning and is a little hidden gem in middleton.

We had our wedding here in August 2023 and it was just amazing x the guest said the food was fab and the service was amazing. The staff responded to all our questions and quickly and nothing was to much trouble . I would definitely recommend this venue and for the price was just 5 stars xxx

We just want to thank the staff at Edgar Wood for being such an amazing part of our wedding day. We were very impressed with the service we received & the building is just incredible. Our guests keep talking about how amazing & beautiful the venue is. Mine & my husbands families are born & raised in Manchester, but we never new this hidden gem existed until searching for wedding venues. The grounds are beautiful & there is so much space inside. Each room is just so beautiful that minimal decorations were needed. Steve & Rosie were so attentive & lovely. The only thing we would say in the slightly negative is that the official website states "The hall is equipped with a state-of-the-art PA system." which it does not, and early in the day ladies toilets became unusable & guests had to share the mens & accessible toilets - but considering Edgar Wood is a listed building, we understand the plumbing won't be state of the art. But other then that - thank you for everything, we had the most amazing day and we would highly recommend this venue to other couples.

We had our wedding here during covid and had to move our day to September 2020 from a lockdown in May. I can quite simply say we had the best day, better than I could ever have imagined. The food was incredible - because we could only have a sit down meal at the time we make sure to feed our 30 allowed guests well! Everyone still tells me how good the food was. The atmosphere with the candlelit rooms and roaring log fires, with my own personal music playing and everyone I love in one room is hard to even describe. I can't thank Rebecca the wedding manager enough for how well we were looked after on the day. Afterwards we were able to retreat up to the amazing Shepherds Huts and stay cosy by the firepits Quite simply the best day and I will cherish every second forever

We got in touch with Chorley golf club after our initial venue let us down, upon meeting Michelle we instantly fell in love with the golf club and the views around. Had we had known about it first we would of booked here first of all. Michelle and her team at us at ease. No job was too big or to small for them. They offered us fantastic pricing based on our previous numbers ect. We had an over all amazing day - would recommend highly!

The venue was a 'yes' as soon as we walked in the door. Beautiful period house and decor. We were looked after brilliantly by Katie, the wedding organiser, both before and during the day of the wedding. We felt lucky to celebrate with Katie and two of the volunteers (Cath and Jane? Sorry ladies, my mind was elsewhere!) who were responsive, friendly and kind. We had the best time. I recommend 100%.

We just wanted to say a huge thank you for everything you did for us on our special day. You all worked tirelessly to help us with our planning. All our guests had the most fantastic day and we have had so many compliments about the venue. We couldn't be more proud to have picked Holmes Mill!

Such a beautiful place, perfect for the right couple to get married there, old wooden beams, real beurial stone to walk upon floor, walled garden perfect for photographs as well as a courtyard and frond lawn to pose upon. very special place xx I have not attended a wedding there which needed to submit.

From the moment we saw Stockport Town Hall we knew it was the venue for us. Even un-decorated it looks really grand and once the windows are lit up from inside it's perfect. Over a year later we still receive comments about the venue. Great tip is to use the main entrance and staircase as a backdrop to any photos.

Bramall Hall is a wonderful location for weddings with a good choice of rooms or outside to chose from. The hall is steeped in history, stunning architecture and glorious gardens. All fabulous settings for wedding photographs. Our wedding co-ordinator Ellie was with us every step of the way, helping to organise as well as giving us ideas, she was very professional and extremely approachable nothing was too much trouble for her and really made us feel totally at ease. For our wedding ceremony Ernest and I chose the Chapel which was absolutely perfect for us as we had a relatively small number of guests. After the ceremony we had drinks outside as it was such a warm sunny day. Our guest also had the opportunity to take a tour around the hall, all were very impressed. We chose the Banquet Hall for the wedding breakfast which again was just perfect, the staff did an excellent job setting the tables just as we wanted and the food was excellent. We all then danced the night away in the main hall - it really was a wonderful day, no words can honestly describe how momentus it really was. We highly recommend Bramall Hall for your wedding.
