Had to write this review straight away, the morning after our wedding. We can not recommend the Sitwell highly enough, a truly lovely venue with fabulous gardens and lake, the photos are going to look great. But what makes this place exceptional are the staff. Every question is answered, every need is attended; our day ran like clockwork. My wife and I cannot thank Laura and her team enough, we didn’t have to worry or think about a single other thing apart from enjoying our day. The food is gorgeous, and there’s plenty of it, the bar prices are good. Every single guest commented on how fantastic everything was. If you want a really good venue and a care free day you can remember for ever, this is the place. Spectacular! Laura, thank you, we will remember how special and welcoming you made our wedding day forever. Brilliant!

We would like to thank you for all your hard work, effort and organisation for our wedding. We had a wonderful day, absolutely loved spending it in the wonderful grounds and the food was superb. Just a message to thank you, especially David for providing such a great venue and service for our wedding day. The venue was the only one we looked at but as soon as we saw it we just knew it was exactly what we wanted. Wood lane seem to offer a service that we couldn't find anywhere else, a blank canvas that we were allowed to create our perfect day in. We had so many comments from guests about what a great venue it was and the registrars and the caterers also said that they loved working with you. Thank you David for putting us at ease the day before and on the day, we had total confidence in you!

Every part of our civil partnership went as well as it could have thanks to the staff at Temple Newsam. The house felt like our own as we were allowed to move freely between rooms among beautiful antiques without ever feeling we were in a museum being watched. Wonderful caterers, florists and hotels in the area meant everything we wanted was easy to perfect and guests well catered for. Will never be able to thank Temple Newsam enough for helping us put it all together and regularly telling me to relax!

June 2012 - We had our evening meal and ceilidh here. Truly a stunning location for dinner in an ancient hall and a large area for sitting and dancing downstairs. Hidden treasure in central York that has beautiful, well-maintained riverside gardens. Absolutely recommend it for couples who want an original and historic location.

As half our group were Italian coming from Italy, we needed to find somewhere special to impress them and this was the perfect venue. In the centre of York, there was no need for people to travel, the gardens were a fantastic setting although it rained all day so we couldn't go out but the place, the food and the staff were perfect. My only regret was that the day passed by so quickly.

We had such a wonderful day, everyone enjoyed themselves. The food was absolutley first class, the ambience and each room was fabulous.

I attended a wedding here and everything went so smoothly. The staff were excellent, the venue was so different it gave the day a real wow factor and the food was great too!
