We got married in July 2024 (sorry for the delay in leaving the review!) and feel incredibly privileged to have had our wedding at Homme House. We were lucky enough to have a beautiful day for our wedding and had an outdoor ceremony next to the summerhouse, with incredible views over the countryside.

We fell in love with Homme instantly during our first visit, and did not hesitate to make our booking later that evening. The house and grounds are absolutely beautiful, very well maintained, and full of history, character and wildlife. Homme is an incredible family home, not a corporate wedding venue, and this really shone through in every aspect.

We were warned by friends and family how stressful planning and organising a wedding is, but we were both delighted and shocked with how smooth and 'easy' everything seemed to be, from start to finish. This is very much down to Charlie and Sarah! We cannot give enough praise and thanks for your help, organisation, positivity, and wisdom. We found that nearly every detail we could think of had already been thought of and answered in your online resources, and where we did occasionally have questions, we would email them over and receive thoughtful and quick responses. We were completely at ease both during the build up and over our wedding weekend knowing that we were in safe hands, and are very grateful for all your work behind the scenes over the weekend to help things run absolutely perfectly.

There is so much more we could say, much more than we could fit into a short review - but Homme House is an incredibly special house, and has a very special place in our hearts. We are honoured to now be a very small part of its history, and cannot wait to visit again in the future - hopefully for a stay in the summerhouse to celebrate our first anniversary!

They both went above and beyond to help us throughout the whole process - from the early planning stages with advice and supplier recommendations, to the big day itself helping to make sure that everything ran smoothly.
They made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived and we cannot thank them both enough for their hard work in helping our day to be as brilliant as it was!

One of the things we loved most about Homme House was that it is not a high-volume, cookie-cutter wedding venue with a very restrictive set of packages and options to choose from. Instead, we were given complete freedom and support to design our day however we wanted. Charlie and Sarah are amazing and were incredibly helpful throughout the whole process - both during the planning stage with advice and supplier recommendations, and on the day itself helping to make sure that everything ran smoothly.

The house itself and the gardens are incredibly beautiful and are overflowing with history and character. It felt very special to be able to stay there with all our family and make it our home for two nights.

We would wholeheartedly recommend Homme House to couples who are planning a wedding of any size. Even with only a small number of guests, the house very felt cosy and homely.

We feel so lucky to have been able to hold our wedding here and can’t wait to go back and visit again in the future.

if i hadn't have married my husband here, I would've married someone or found an excuse to use the venue! absolutely stunning gorunds and house, accompanied by the most welcoming of owners Charlie and Sarah. any question we had they answered and anything we needed help with, they helped any way that they could. you will not go wrong with booking here nor forget such an incredible setting. i genuinely wish I could move in!

We knew from the moment we first drove up the driveway of Homme House that it was a special place but, after spending the most amazing weekend there for our wedding in April, it’s fair to say Homme now has an incredibly special place in our hearts, as well as the hearts of our friends and family. The photos alone are stunning but as soon as you enter the house, you can feel the love that is poured into the place by the family.

Charlie was an absolute joy to work with throughout the planning process, and helped us to feel so much better about the somewhat daunting process of planning an entire wedding. Everything was dealt with so efficiently and, on the wedding weekend, Charlie and Sarah really went above and beyond to help ensure everything ran to the highest standard and as smoothly as possible.

We were made to feel so welcome from the first viewing, all the way through to welcoming our guests on the weekend of the wedding. We really couldn’t have picked a more perfect venue, it was so difficult to leave it behind once the wedding was over and we can’t wait to come back and visit again soon!

We honestly can’t recommend Homme House enough and are so incredibly thankful to Charlie and Sarah for being such an integral part of our absolute dream wedding.

We have had the most amazing experience with Charlie & Sarah, from the first time we visited - to the wedding day. They offer so much more than the location itself, and we couldn´t be happier with the whole process.

They have been so helpful, especially as we have been doing the majority of our wedding planning whilst living in a different country. The resources they provided for us to simplify our planning process were also great.

They helped us make sure all the key elements were in place well before, and during the big day, and they were great with communication through emails, Zoom meetings, and of course during our visits to Homme House.

Homme House is the perfect wedding venue if you want beautiful and serene surroundings, freedom and flexibility, and a first-class team to work with.

We cannot recommend Homme highly enough. Charlie and Sarah were invaluable in making our day the way we wanted it to be - both in helping to navigate challenges with suppliers, and ensuring a well-oiled machine over the weekend itself. No ask was too great. Working with Charlie and Sarah meant that we had whatever support we wanted, while retaining control and independence of the details - in our view, this was like having a wedding consultant but without being deprived of any of the fun of the planning!

The venue is gorgeous - inside and out - and the flexibility was a huge attraction (and one which was delivered on). We had complete freedom (but advice where we wanted it) on catering, no corkage charges, and accommodation at a fair price and charged only to the extent that we wanted to avail of it.

All in all, Homme House was everything we hoped for and more. It was also fantastic value and allowed us to curate our dream wedding. Thank you so much Charlie and Sarah - we will never forget just how perfect it all was.

If you are looking for a beautiful venue, with amazing grounds and the most perfect hosts, who care about your wedding just as much as you do.. look no further! Homme house was the perfect location for our small intimate wedding.

With only 11 of us, Charlie and Sarah made sure the wedding ran smoothly and that everyone felt at home, within their home.

The small touches provided made our day so much more special. Even Charlie's photo, which was our first print image from the day now stands proudly in our living room and holds a lot of sentimental value to us both.

From the moment we visited Charlie and Sarah at Homme, we knew it was the perfect wedding venue for us, and we were completely right. We had the most spectacular day, all down to the love and care that Charlie and Sarah put into Homme and helping you plan your day. It is a beautiful venue, with amazing rooms to use for your celebrations, and plenty of bedrooms for family and friends to stay in. Communication with Charlie and Sarah was excellent, a very much appreciated shared Excel document to keep up to date with details, and nothing ever seemed too much trouble. They really are amazing! Homme holds a special place in our hearts and we have already booked our stay in the summerhouse for our first wedding anniversary.

Homme House was a fairytale come true. Charlie and Sarah was incredible whilst making our day super special. They shared our vision, was super attentive and made the day seem so smooth sailing! Homme is a beautiful place. It captured all our hearts, and we’re so grateful for Charlie and Sarah to let us use the house on our special day. Homme House is simply perfect. The house & gardens are beautiful and it feels like a fairytale to have the property and grounds to yourself - even if only for a day!
Charlie and Sarah provided exceptional help and support from start to finish. They showed great kindness helping us to navigate changing dates due to Covid and ensured we had an unforgettable and wonderful day. At Homme House you feel as though you are being welcomed into a family, and we cannot thank the team enough for all the time given and care shown. Every question we asked throughout our planning and preparations was responded to incredibly swiftly and the attention to detail was excellent.
We are truly grateful for the most perfect Wedding Celebration at Homme House and would recommend it to anyone looking for an intimate wedding in a beautiful and grand setting.

If you want a wedding venue that feels personal, a home away from home, you can do no better than Homme House. We had spent a long time looking at wedding venues online and scrolling through every version of "hidden gem wedding venue" blog there was but we kept coming up against the same 'cookie cutter' venues we were trying to avoid. Then we found Homme House and everything fell into place... right down to the fact their website actually states "Not a cookie cutter wedding venue." It was meant to be.
The house is absolutely stunning and if you did nothing to decorate (we did very little), the house would still speak for itself. Charlie and Sarah are the most helpful and thoughtful hosts, often stepping into the role of wedding coordinator to help guide us through the process and advise on various aspects of the day. There are no fixed suppliers that you must use, but we chose ours from their list of recommendations and we were not disappointed. You can completely customise your day - there are few rules - and I have been told by MULTIPLE guests, including some married themselves, that ours was the best wedding they've ever been to! I can say with certainty Charlie, Sarah and Homme House played a huge part in that review. Book the venue and don't look back!

Homme House is the first venue we visited… and the last. From the moment we drove through the front gate we knew it would be where we would be spending our special day.

Working with Charlie over the course of our 3 year engagement was such a joy and took away so much of the stress you expect when planning a wedding.

Nothing was ever too much, you were always made to feel like you were the only couple getting married at Homme & the responsiveness to our many queries couldn’t of been smoother. The ability to design your perfect day with Homme House at the centre of it is simply amazing. Charlie is happy for you to work with any supplier to bring your vision to life, something that so many venues don’t allow you to do.

We visited Homme a large number of times (as we had to qualify to marry at St Bartholomew’s so had a number of trips to Much Marcle) and were also welcome for a check in and a cup of tea.

Covid unfortunately meant we have to reschedule our original date but as expected Charlie was at hand to talk through options and could not have dealt with the situation in a more professional way.

On the day, the days leading up to it and the morning after, Charlie & Sarah did everything they could to make it the most special time on our lives and that they certainly did. They never laughed at my many spreadsheets, questions (often silly) and requests (often weird).

Having access to the house from the day before and until lunchtime the day after is something we couldn’t recommended more. Your wedding day will go so quickly but having the time to create additional memories the day before and morning after is something we can’t even imagine not having had. It also makes your wedding morning a much smoother time and gives you the opportunity to really be in the moment.

All of our suppliers commented on how much of a joy it was to work at Homme & with Charlie & Sarah. Our photographer actually said he doesn’t think he’s ever worked with a nicer venue owner.

Homme will always hold such a special place in our heart and feel like a home away from home. It is such a magical & beautiful place which we couldn’t describe any better than with the word ‘perfect’!

We could not recommend Homme House anymore, choosing it for our big day was the best decision we made and one we will forever be grateful for.

It's taken me a month to write this review, because I simply don't know where to begin with just how happy we were to have our wedding (and the whole planning experience) with Homme. I say WITH Homme, not at, because we truly feel like a small part of the Homme family after sharing our special day here.

I want to start by saying that many venues we visited had a really commercial feel, we often felt like weddings were treated with a conveyer belt system. This was NEVER felt in capacity with Homme. Everything felt personalised to us as a couple, from the very first communication.

From the moment we arrived at Homme, we've been made to feel so welcome and at home. Nothing has ever been too much trouble and we have always felt comfortable contacting Charlie and Sarah with questions and requests for advice and guidance. The regular updates on all things wedding and venue related have been so welcome and only helped to build in the excitement through our longer-than-expected build up to the day itself.
Like many couples, we were finally wed after two years of postponements, but each and every contact with Charlie felt as special and exciting as the first (when some vendors could make us feel like a bit of a burden for the date changes).
Well, we can certainly say it was worth the wait! We genuinely had the most perfect day we could have ever imagined. Not just for us, but for all of our guests as well. Even our evening guests were saying it was the best wedding they've ever been to, and we're under no illusions that it has anything to do with us as a couple! The ability/option to come and go as they please, taking advantage of each element of the gardens and grounds was a real treat and made people feel simultaneously settled and excited.
Matt and I thought it great that any legal boundaries and limitations have been made clear from the get-go, as we feel this is something other venues hold back until later in the booking process.

It was expressed to me by Charlie and Sarah that they didn't want me to even look at a clock on the day. I'm a frantic planner and panicker but the amount of organisation, attention to detail, and eagerness to help keep us relaxed honestly meant that I didn't (and didn't feel the need to) check the time at ANY point in the day, not even the morning prep. My photographer also commented on how impressed she was with how organised and in-the-know they were. In fact, each of the vendors all passed similarly wonderful comments about Homme and the team-of-two at earlier stages of booking. Everyone is always so excited to cover a wedding at Homme!
Sarah's warm and friendly visits in the morning were immensely calming for me and made me feel like everything was under control. I stood in the library, ready to start the ceremony completely cool, calm, and collected... It was only once I stepped foot in the panelled room that it all went to toffee! And, may I add, floating down that sweeping staircase, ready to marry the love of my life, is a feeling I will never forget.
As a family, we all LOVED the wording on the website about a little bit of love from each wedding rubbing off on the place. If that is the case, and we believe it so, then it must be overflowing at present 💗

The option of being at the venue for the day before the wedding was simply the best! A relaxed day with a small gathering of friends and family, as well as the chance to set a few things up prior to the 'morning-of madness' was an absolute joy. It really took the pressure off us for the big day, provided some really beautiful memories, and is something we couldn't imagine the celebrations without. Over the two days, showing people around the gardens was definitely a highlight for us (actually, many many highlights, we really got our steps in!) and a few people asked us how we knew so many little bits of information. Neither of us had realised that we did really, I guess we just retained every titbit of information shared with us throughout our previous visits, out of pure love for the place. I have sent the link for the history section of the website around to so many guests as they were all so intrigued to know more, and disappointed when we admitted we couldn't remember many details!
The house itself, while grand and beautiful, is so homely and welcoming - no red ropes here - many guests commented on this also. We took full advantage of the walled garden by having cocktail hour by the summer house. We're so happy we did this, it really allowed everyone to feel immersed in such a beautiful place, and I think every guest enjoyed a little visit up in the summer house which was a really fun touch! The bridal suite... Well, you'll see for yourselves, but we felt every touch of luxury (again, homely and welcoming luxury, nothing ostentatious) and could have stayed forever. The views over the gardens are unbeatable in our opinion.
We actually decided to arrive a day early at Homme (arrived on the Sunday for our Tuesday wedding) and spent the first night together in the summer house and I would highly recommend this,it was so special and we had a wonderful picnic breakfast in the gardens before our 'day before,' guests arrived.


We could go on forever about the amazing breakfast, the beautifully thought-out spaces to enjoy separately, the utterly stunning decor and upholstery, and all of the extra touches that made us feel so loved and special.... But we'd like to save some surprises for you !

Charlie and Sarah mastered the perfect balance between acknowledging the stressful nature of hiccups, and making them feel totally manageable.
We truly feel we have been embraced so lovingly, and woukd consider them both friends for life.

In summary, Homme and the team behind it provided the best possible start to our married lives, and we are forever grateful.

Homme House made for an abosultely incredible venue. They were flexible in working with external suppliers for a range of functions, and Charlie & Sarah who run the venue were an absolute delight to work with. They were always prompt and helpful, and really made us feel like frineds they were welcoming into their home rather than simply clients hiring a space. Not just a goregous venue with excellent accomodation facilities, but a totally unique experience.
