Originally built by the Earl of Sitwell as a wedding present for his son in 1863, Horsley Lodge has earned a reputation as one of Derbyshire’s finest country hotels and wedding venues.

Since 1990 the former Manor House has been lovingly restored by the Salt family, retaining all of the original character and charm - from the sweeping drive in to the exposed limestone walls and original tiled floors. Set in the foothills of the Peak District on the picturesque 180 acre golf course and surrounded by green fields and wildflower meadows, this beautiful venue will have you and your guests feeling a million miles away from the rest of the world.

With two licensed rooms we are the perfect venue for civil weddings and partnerships of any size. For smaller weddings our Old Restaurant room provides an intimate, romantic space and for larger weddings our Amber Suite can accommodate up to 120 guests for your ceremony

The Amber Suite

The Amber Suite is a large and airy reception space perfect for dining and dancing. This Suite offers an opportunity to enjoy the courtyard which leads from the atrium where the reception drinks can be served. Your guests can enjoy canapés as they take in the stunning views of the golf course and countryside beyond, before moving inside for a mouth-watering wedding breakfast..

The stylish, neutral decor allows you to be creative and make it your own for the day. Whether it is a quiet, intimate gathering, renewing your vows or a traditional full wedding celebration, we can help to create your perfect wedding.

Celebrate at the end the day dancing the night away with your guests. Our Amber Suite offers the perfect party space with a private bar serving an impressive selection of drinks.

The dedicated wedding co-ordinator will help plan your wedding and make sure that every detail is covered, so that everything goes smoothly on your big day. We can recommend trusted suppliers from flower designers to photographers to ensure all aspects of your wedding are as perfect as you’ve dreamed.

From farm to fork

From intricate canapés and wedding breakfasts to informal buffets, every mouthful has been sourced locally from the best suppliers we know and trust – the head chef makes it his business to get to know the farmers. So, whether it’s our meat, poultry, eggs or fresh fruit and vegetables, we know where our food comes from and who has grown or reared it.

With over 30 years experience providing the best hospitality, we can assist you in selecting your food and wine. Choose your own three course wedding breakfast from our selection of menus created by our talented chefs or design your very own bespoke dining experience with our range of delicious additional options.

Accommodation

Horsley Lodge offers a total of 14 en-suite bedrooms within the Lodge House and the three-story limestone cottages in its grounds. Individually designed and beautifully appointed, each room expertly combines original features and contemporary decor and offers you and your guests a memorable stay as part of the celebrations. The Bride and Groom are offered a complimentary luxury suite for your wedding night where you may be tempted to get cosy and stay on for a day or two.
