We would love to give more stars as this really is the most special place to get married. Every last detail was perfection. The team were wonderful and so supportive. They ensured the day ran seamlessly and our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. They couldn't do enough to make us feel at ease.
The venue was stunning as were the rooms.
Charlotte was an incredible support to us, not only is she a funny, kind hearted person, nothing seemed too much trouble and Tegan was a great help on the day too. The team must have worked so hard but to us they seemed relaxed and somehow still had time to get us a drink and relax us just before the ceremony. They made sure we were always in the right place at the right time and stayed on track (which was difficult as we were all over the place - even at the bottom of the garden when dinner was about to start). I didn't look at my watch/ phone the whole day, the time flew by. They linked so well with the other suppliers. The whole day was perfect. Thank you Lanwades (Alex, Elvis, Charlotte, Tegan) for the best most special day of our lives ❤️

I just want to say a BIG THANK YOU to the Lanwades team, yet again. I celebrated my wedding here on July 12 and found both the venue and staff fantastic. My husband and I highly recommend the venue to anyone pondering whether to choose it for their big day.

We viewed several venues for our wedding and picked Lanwades Hall for their gorgeous gardens and the charming old mansion. But we had no idea that along with that, we are getting the most professional staff we could ever imagine. Charlotte, our wedding manager, seamlessly coordinated all suppliers and made sure everything is on schedule on the day. She anticipated our every move and our every need, even brining food for us when we hid in the garden to have a quiet moment together. We had our ceremony outdoors, which went perfectly, but all backups were ready in the case of rain. Our wedding night was unforgettable in the beautiful bridal suite, and our family staying the night at Lanwades was equally impressed with their beautiful suites. Overall, we couldn't be happier we picked Lanwades Hall and our guests still keep mentioning that it was one of the most beautiful weddings they ever attended!

Lanwades Hall was the perfect venue for our wedding. From the moment we first visited the venue we fell in love with it. It looks very grand but has a very intimate feel to it and the grounds are beautiful. We went for the weekend package which was brilliant for giving us time to set up and to spend the evening before celebrating with our friends and family. The day itself was everything we could have wished for and the breakfast the next morning was delicious. Thank you to Charlotte, Tegan, Alex and Elvis for making our day so special.

We had an absolutely amazing wedding at Lanwades in June 2024. The team there are so incredible, managing to be laid back but totally on top of everything at the same time. They managed all the details seamlessly in the background and we were able to enjoy the day without worrying about anything. We had our wedding at Lanwades Hall on 8th June 2024. We had a phenomenal experience and would highly recommend this as a venue to anyone.

We were looking for a small-to-medium sized venue for around 60-80 guests. We chose this venue after visiting for one of their open days because the venue was the right size and location but also because everyone we met there (Alex, Elvis Charlotte, Tegan) was so warm, the building is beautiful and the sunken garden is spectacular.

Things we found particularly great:
• The setting is stunning and certainly has a wow factor. The house itself and the grounds are stunning. Despite the Tudor-style it is actually quite a modern building, so whilst looking impressive and grand, it is very clean and comfortable.
• The team (Alex, Elvis, Charlotte, Tegan) were fantastic. They were all extremely friendly and welcoming. They have been running weddings there for several years now, so are extremely experienced at knowing what works well, how to use the space, different things people have done etc.
• There will be members of the team there on the day to help guide your guests (and us) around and make sure everything went smoothly (absolutely no need for an additional wedding planner).
• They allowed us to select from two caterers at different price points, as these companies know the kitchens well and have a close partnership with the venue. Both caterers have fantastic menus. We went for the more affordable option (Portfolio), but the food and service was absolutely fantastic (many positive reviews from our guests), so either way you’ll have a great meal. In some ways the reduced choice of caterers is actually a blessing (sometimes too many options is a bad thing).
• The accommodation was great. We were able to offer affordable rooms in the venue to up to a max of 26 of our guests on the night of the wedding, which was ideal. There are lots of accommodation options in Newmarket near the venue (at various price points) for other guests.
• The space itself was really what we were looking for. There are lots of different interconnected spaces (bar, dining hall, cosy rooms with sofas and chairs, outdoor terrace). It meant in the evening people who didn’t necessarily want to be on the dance floor, could comfortably retire and chat, but still felt part of the wedding. We’ve been to weddings before where the venue is essentially one big room, which personally I enjoy less.
• All our local vendors (photographer, DJ, flowers) all mentioned how they had worked the venue before and how much they loved working there, which is great.

We had just under 70 guests, which is about the max that this venue can accommodate, so if you are planning a wedding with mega-numbers of guests (e.g. >100), it is probably not the venue you’re looking for. If however, your wedding is 50-70 guests, Lanwades is absolutely perfect and would recommend it to anyone.

My wonderful husband and I grew up in Newmarket and had no idea that this incredible location existed until we spotted an open day sign one day, when driving past. We had only really just started thinking about setting a date but we stopped in and fell in love with the place immediately. We didn't even bother looking anywhere else. As you make your way down the driveway you can feel how special it is.

We booked for the whole weekend and honestly am so grateful that we did.
Elvis and Alex were so welcoming and made booking the venue of our dreams so easy. Charlotte was fantastic at helping us plan the whole day and both she and Tegan just made everything from setting up on the Friday to packing up on the Sunday seamless. Whenever we visited and especially when we were there for our wedding, they made it feel like our home.

The venue is stunning, the grounds are beautiful. There isn't a part of this venue that is not to love. It's perfect if some of your guests have kids with a play area and being set apart from the road. Our guests absolutely loved Lanwades Hall and have all commented on how perfect it is for a wedding.

We certainly can't thank the team enough and would not change a thing if we were to do it all again.

My husband and I live only an 8 minute drive from Lanwades Hall. When I first saw the sign, I said when I'm engaged I'm going to look at Lanwades. In April 2022, we got engaged and I booked for us to view Lanwades. We both feel in love with Lanwades to be our wedding venue and booked it. We knew we didn't need to look at any other venues.
From first booking and right up to our wedding day the Lanwades team were there for us. They always replied promptly and answered any questions. Charlotte was amazing and I knew she was there with me every step of the planning and most importantly there on the day. Everyone kept telling me that I was really calm and that is all thanks to Lanwades and the catering team (Portfolio Events). I had complete trust in Charlotte and the Lanwades team and they ensured that we had the most perfect day. I'm sure they were extremely busy in the background for it all to come together but the team only came to us to check in on us and let us know where we needed to be.
Charlotte was amazing at helping us prepare the day before and always greeted us with a smile and instantly put us at ease.
We have had so many guests thank us for such a wonderful day. As Mike said in his speech, I always aim for perfection and Lanwades was perfect for our wedding day making sure it was everything and more than what I dreamed of.
We used the Morning room for our ceremony and the Great Hall was both excellent for the wedding breakfast and then to dance in the evening. I love that you have exclusive use of Lanwades so there is a space to cater for all guests. I got ready in the bridal suite which is gorgeous and was the perfect space for myself and my bridesmaids to get ready in.
We were lucky with the weather that we could use the gardens for our photos and the building is stunning for a backdrop.
We honestly can't thank the Lanwades team and Charlotte enough. I would 100% recommend using Lanwades Hall for your wedding venue.

So glad we chose Lanwades Hall, its the perfect setting for an intimate wedding and the staff could not do enough for us. Charlotte was our coordinator and made our day so special, nothing was too much trouble, an absolute gem of a coordinator :-)

We got married on the 20th September 2023 and had our wedding reception at Lanwades Hall. Ofcourse it was the actual day that the wind and rain all came at once but that did not stop us from enjoying our special day!

We’ve been eyeing Lanwades Hall at the beginning of our search as it was the perfect distance to the church that we were getting married at. But due to technical issues, we didn’t get a response from our inquiry in the beginning but when they did, it felt like the right timing as we were still searching for other places and once we saw the venue, we knew it was the perfect place to celebrate our wedding. The hall was beautiful and did not need a lot of decorating (as my then fiancé said) and we just envisioned everything. The rooms especially the wedding suite was immaculate and the night that we were there, we slept like a baby! The sunken garden was my favourite part of it and we managed to capture stunning photos though I was gutted our guests didn’t get to see and enjoy it due to the weather but they still enjoyed the day 😌

I guess, overall, we just wanted to say our biggest THANK YOU to the team at Lanwades Hall for letting us celebrate our milestones (10th year, Wedding and 30th Birthday) at their beautiful place. Shoutout to Sophie and most specially Charlotte who was always there, from answering endless queries and sorting out last minute issues. (also thank you for asking us to have a quick break after the ceremony- it was very much needed after the overwhelming experience! really appreciate it!) Stunning venue and the staff were so attentive and made the whole day run smoothly

After visiting many venues in and around Cambridgeshire, we had our first meeting with Elvis and decided straight away to book Lanwades Hall for our wedding. We knew we found the dream venue with the dream team. From the initial meeting until the wedding day, Elvis and Alex were so helpful, accommodating, friendly, and always
quick to respond to our emails; a dream to work with. Later on, Sophie and Charlotte joined the team and were also extremely helpful and professional, helping us with the last bits and final planning. Our wedding at Lanwades Hall was a dream day, amazing atmosphere, intimate feel, and super organised, all thanks to the Lanwades Hall team, especially Elvis, who was simply amazing to us, and Sophie, who was so professional, helpful and organised. We had so many compliments on the venue from our guests, everyone had a great time. If you want your wedding day to be a dream come true, book a meeting with them. We cannot recommend Lanwades Hall highly enough!

Lanwades Hall is a beautiful venue, I knew I wanted to get married there the second I drove up the driveway and saw the building. The individuals rooms are all beautiful and cater for all types of guests, the gardens are so beautiful, a structured sunken garden and wilder walks through daffodils.

More than that though, the team were so thoughtful and attentive. I am a type A planner with a detailed spreadsheet but on the day, I didn't have a clue what time it was or what was next (I was just having a blast) but everything ran perfectly because they were so in control.

The suppliers list they have is a godsend as well, they have really scoped out these vendors and they not only know Lanwades Hall inside out they work really well together so it all felt like one cohesive team.

I had no idea I could enjoy a day so much and I was so surprised at how relaxed I felt and that I didn't have to worry about anything all day. Would highly highly recommend.

Lanwades Hall was the most beautiful venue we could have ever dreamt of for our winter wedding. The venue balances intimacy with grandeur perfectly. Alex and Elvis looked after us and our families from the moment we had a virtual (covid!!) tour in 2020 to the moment we said goodbye the morning after our gorgeous wedding (December, 2022). The grounds at Lanwades would provide a beautiful back drop for a wedding at any point throughout the year but we feel particularly grateful that we got to enjoy them covered in snow!

All of the local suppliers love working with Lanwades and we felt like we were working with one, big family in order to put together our perfect wedding.

If you have guests travelling from far away then rest assured that the bedrooms at Lanwades (of which there are many!) are absolutely gorgeous and incredibly comfortable.
