Le Gothique is a historic wedding venue located on Wandsworth Common in South West London. Situated within the grade II listed Royal Victoria Patriotic Building, this venue offers a stunning setting for special occasions. Founder and manager Mark Justin and his elite team have over 35 years of experience in expertly executing unforgettable wedding events here.

Facilities and Capacity

Le Gothique offers its double-award-winning Secret Garden event space for couples to host their special day. Up to 250 guests can be accommodated here for a celebration to remember. The venue is licensed for civil ceremonies so that you can set your full day of festivities at one location. An open-air ceremony can be held within the charming internal garden on-site, where you can exchange your vows surrounded by splendid greenery and historic architecture. Afterwards, your guests can enjoy a drinks reception in the Gothic-style bar while you take advantage of this venue's many wedding photo opportunities. Your seated reception can be hosted under the unique retractable canopy in the garden. This structure can also be heated, giving you the freedom to set your big day here, no matter the time of year. A dedicated dance floor is available within the bar space, where a range of state-of-the-art AV equipment is available to facilitate live wedding entertainment, videos and slideshows, and more.

Services Offered

Le Gothique was originally a gastropub when it opened in 1987 and has retained its commitment to quality cuisine over the years. The in-house culinary team provide a wide array of primarily French cuisine options but is happy to adapt their selection to suit various requirements. The dedicated wedding events team here have assisted in creating over 1,500 special celebrations, making them experts when it comes to managing your needs and requests. They can supply their in-house florists and DJs for your event but are also happy to allow outside vendors. Le Gothique can also provide the use of their on-site Rolls Royce to facilitate a fashionable entrance to your occasion.

Perfect summer wedding ✨️

Stunning location, affordable wedding package and last but definitely not least, delicious food!

We communicated with Mark over email and then we met Andrew and they were both great throughout the all process.
From answering promptly to our emails, to showing us around when we first visited, to making us feel like VIPs during our wedding menu tasting and finally to executing perfectly every aspect of our big day last week!

Our guests were so happy with the wedding meal and lots of our London friends thanked us for introducing them to such a wonderful restaurant to which they will return in the future.
The team was very attentive with regards to some of our guests with serious allergies.

Le Gothique waiting teamwere so lovely, professional yet friendly and kept a smile on their faces throughout an undoubtedly long day. Many of our guests commented on how great the customer service was during the all day.

We must not forget the chefs and kitchen team for preparing such a delicious meal, we choose Tuna tartare&goat cheese salad as starters, gnocchi&confit de canard as mains, raspberry tart&sorbets as desserts. We cannot really recommend a specific dish as they were all great!

Le Gothique - what a team

I cannot praise Le Gothique enough for their work on our wedding. The weather was not playing ball but the team never faltered in their replanning to make sure everyone stayed dry.

The staff were absolutely amazing on the day. I got tracked down by a waiter who'd been told specifically to make sure the bride and groom ate and that's honestly genius because I would have forgotten otherwise.

Everything was set up perfectly and the staff we're super helpful in pointing out places for good photos in the building.

They dealt with our rowdy dancing and crowd surfing with good humour and grace.

I can definitely recommend Le Gothique as a wedding reception venue. 0 complaints from us.

A winter wonderland wedding

Our winter wonderland white wedding day was everything and more than we expected. Catering for 125 was always a big ask. And all the "awkward" guests were carefully attended to by Andrew and Jake who found the gluten free, vegan and special needs guests and made then feel special. Mark ran the show with the experience of a man who has done 1500 weddings.
The charm offensive was never relentling with big smiles all day from all the staff.
Wedding food can be a compromise but I can honestly say this was one of the best meals of our lives. How do they do it in the small kitchen?
I would recommend this "castle" on Wandsworth Common to anyone looking for something special, something different, something excellent in every way

A lovely day

Belated congratulations for making our wedding June 30th 2018 such a lovely day.
Everyone enjoyed the flavours from our very unusual Asian/Eurpoean menu. Mark and his chefs went out of their way to assist us with the menu planning. We could see that a lot of hard work went into this.
Elliot was brilliant. So too was the owner Mark's son, Andrew, who was consatantly on hand to help.
This wedding was never going to be a run of the mill occasion. The menu was very important to us and Fred in the kitchen really delivered

Great Venue, Great Service, Great Price

Le Gothique hosted our wedding day celebrations. Beautiful surroundings, very picturesque, ideal venue for a romantic wedding. Food served at the reception was lovely. Both food and drinks reasonably priced. Staff very pleasant. Had a lovely day, the outdoor alfresco setting is unique.
Added bonus the weather was fabulous too!

Amazing Venue

I recently had my wedding at Le Gothique and it was absolutely perfect! The garden is beautiful, the food utterly delicious and the whole day ran so smoothly.
I would like to thank Mark, Elliot and the team for their help in planning the day, tailoring everything to our requests and making everything run like clockwork.
I could not recommend Le Gothique more, both as a restaurant and a wedding venue. We look forward to many more meals there!

Wedding reception sent from Heaven

On September 8th, 2018, we had our much anticipated wedding reception at Le Gothique. From start to finish, everything ran smoothly and effortlessly. The food was absolutely delicious and served with excellent precision and timing.The atmosphere was fantastic and the tables were set beautifully. Even the weather held up!
We could not fault a single thing, as Mark, the proprietor, took great care of us. He definitely knows his stuff when it comes to organising weddings and I would highly recommend him and his fantastic team.
It was a wedding day to remember, and this is due to all the planning, input and gems of advice from Le Gothique.
Thank you for all that you did for us, and for giving us a wedding reception sent from heaven!

Best Summer Wedding Ever!

We had our wedding at the same time as a the heatwave hit, so it was a very hot day indeed! But we had an amazing day, can't say enough about the quality of the food and the guests still comment today on how great it was, which we already knew as we had a tasting beforehand and on the day it was just as lovely. The staff were there running everything seamlessly behind the scenes and anything I needed fixing or correcting was done promptly without hassle. I wish we could do it all again! Maybe in 10 years for a vow renewal. Looking forward to returning for our one year anniversary for dinner. Thank you Mark, Elliot and Andrew for a wonderful day.

Wonderful Wedding Venue

We can't begin to thank Le Gothique for their amazing hospitality. We had the best time and all our guests did too. They were extremely patient and helpful when planning the wedding, answering all our questions immediately and always trying to give us what we wanted (no matter how strange or different) which made the whole day personal and special for us. We were able to taste everything beforehand and there were no hidden added costs like a lot of places.

The food was amazing on the day, such good quality and variety, many people mentioned how good it was.

The staff were amazing throughout the day, polite, always helpful, seamless. They were all so subtle and patient, even when politely telling guests they had to go inside (as we warned them on the invitations!). They were understanding that we were busy on the day so didn't ask us too much if it wasn't necessary.

They really did make the day for us and their experience was noticeable and flexibility much appreciated.

I think we'll be back every anniversary to celebrate, but maybe with less people ;)

Nice wedding venue

Came here for a wedding and it was super nice. Le Gothique is indeed gothic-like! Staff were friendly and holding the wedding here really made a statement.

The best wedding anyone had been to

Rob and I had an amazing wedding at Le Gothique on the May 23rd Bank Holiday weekend.

We loved the place from the moment we walked in. Everyone
commented on how lovely it was and that it was the best wedding they'd ever been
to.

Thank to Elliot, Mark and his team for accommodating my vintage crockery and origami hearts - I thought it all looked lovely.

It was a slick operation that was clearly very well organised, yet incredibly relaxed

I can't think how the day could have been better

Exceptional food and service

Our April wedding was truly an exceptional day. Mark & Elliot and his team were marvellous. The weather held up so we were able to make full use of the garden. The building really is stunning and we arrived at the main entrance to be greeted by Mark who had made all the arrangements and menu planning so easy for us.
The restaurant was laid up BOTH inside and outside so we could choose our seating options right up to the last minute. Essential when planning an April wedding al fresco. The food from Rafal in the kitchen was superbly cooked and delivered even though we gave him a tough time with all our "awkward" guests and their special requests. Well done all of you

Food and service were just great

We are just back from our honeymoon and wanted to say a huge thank you to Mark and his staff for making our wedding in May 2013 everything we could have hoped for.
The food and service was just great, everything flowed perfectly and easily and the staff couln't do enough to help us. More than that the staff were such great fun too!
Everyone who worked on the night really worked hard and made us feel relaxed and at ease.

Above all you looked after us so well

Mark, Elliot and the team did everything to look make Hannah & Josh's wedding day on Saturday May 25th such a success. We knew it would be good and we were not disappionted. The venue all looked beautiful, especially after all the rain of the previous week! But the sun shone and the flowers looked lovely. Everybody loved the BBQ and the bar and disco later were great.
But, above all, you looked after us so well. Both in the preparations beforehand and on the day itself. we had a wonderful day! Thank you from Anne And David Isherwood at the Holy Trinity Rectory.

We did it! It could not have been better!

Mark, Elliot and all the team at Le Gothique were marvellous. We were so pleased with how the wedding went. It really could not have been better. All of our guests commented on the wonderful venue and food. We couldn't fail to notice how smoothly everything ran. The garden at Le Gothique is a fabulous asset and unrivalled by any other wedding venue in London. We owe you a massive thank you.
