Hold your civil ceremony in splendid isolation within 2500 acres of wilderness.
Home only to owls and bats for half a century, we’ve created a woodland Shangri-La where you and can immerse yourself in celebration, and then recuperate in style, soothed in all senses by the glories of nature.
The barn seats 75 at a long banqueting table, and our in-house chef can provide a full dining experience for you and your guests.
Lit by fairy lights and the glow from the surrounding picture lights, the mood is intimate, but there is plenty of room for dancing, as well as a bar and a snug with a snooker table.
We provide the barn, accommodation for up to 32 guests, and a new log cabin with toilets and hot showers - the rest is up to you...

Summer wedding

For our wedding in June 2021 we hired little massingham barn. Our wedding was originally planned for 2020, but unfortunately couldn’t go ahead due to COVID- they were super flexible and understanding, postponing the date for a year. Sally was always on the end of the phone for when we had questions or wanted to arrange site visits. The venue is a unique, rustic barn set in the beautiful Norfolk country side. We really liked the sense of isolation and stunning views surrounding the barn. Theres plenty of space for children to play and explore within the little wooded area and the grassed areas too. The barn retains lots of original it features and character adding to its charm. We were able to dress the venue to suit our theme and style. The recent renovation to the site including a pizza oven and toilet block are great. There is limited power available on the site, also restricted to certain time throughout the day.
There’s lots of space for parking. We married at the beautiful, quaint little massingham church which is only a short drive down the road.

Just idyllic

I know “Hidden gem” is a bit of a cliché but in this case it feels apt. We found the venue by accident. It’s VERY secluded – even by the standards of Norfolk barns – and surrounded on all sides by greenery, with no buildings aside from the barn in sight. If you love the countryside and nature, you will probably love this place (and you might be interested to know that the owner is investing in biodiversity projects nearby). We even saw deer and hares bouncing around on site.

The red brick barn itself is also beautiful in an authentic rustic way and an excellent space for partying and music (our wedding band said it was one of the best party spaces they’ve ever played at). And no neighbours means you don’t have to worry about the noise.

The people in charge of running the venue were absolutely great, they were just lovely kind normal people rather than wedding industry types, and were very laid back and flexible, essentially letting us do whatever we wanted with the site. There were no restrictions on suppliers or anything like that and the contract they sent us was incredibly short (our wedding planner was impressed!).

We had lots of people camping on the site – more than 20 – and the camping facilities were excellent. The bell tents are luxurious – it was great being able to offer guests a free stay in those.

Great Massingham is a five-minute drive away and is definitely one of the prettiest villages in North Norfolk (and we would know – we’ve seen a lot of them). The Dabbling Duck pub is a beautiful up-scale pub/inn/restaurant if you want a base for pre- and post-wedding activities.

Overall, very happy to recommend the Little Massingham Estate barn to anyone, especially if you love the countryside and want a space you can make your own. Although our wedding is of course over we still feel quite attached to the place and we feel that the owners deserve every success. Hope you have a wonderful wedding there too!

Amazing venue you really can put your own stamp on

We had our wedding at the Wedding Barn in Little Massingham in September 2021 - our 3rd attempt at a date due to covid!

Sally could not have been more flexible and helpful as we were re-arranging dates and planning our special day. The venue itself is really special and has a really lovely feel to it, not to mention the fabulous views. We loved how flexible everything was, we were able to set things up exactly as we wanted and the team moved any furniture we didn’t want to use. They even dropped off some straw bales for us to use as seats for our guests. Our guests found loads of accommodation options in Great Massingham nearby.

We really recommend this venue if you are looking for somewhere with character and charm that you can put your own stamp on.
