This was the first venue we viewed & we came straight back to it after viewing just 1 other venue! It is an absolutely stunning building with a beautiful view. There are also so many photo opportunities indoors if the weather is too bad to go outside. We managed to get a few photos outside & the rest indoors. Our day was just perfect ♡

From day one, Dylan's and their wedding planner, Gemma, went above and beyond to make sure our day went smoothly. The food was some of the best that North Wales has to offer and the stunning views of the Llandudno promenade from inside the Washington building will be a memory ourselves and our guests will hold for a lifetime.

We chose Plas Mawr as our wedding venue as we really wanted to be married within the town walls of Conwy, yet we felt we didn't really want a church wedding, so Plas Mawr just felt like the perfect location. From the moment we booked, the staff at Plas Mawr were wonderful, we discussed decorations and flowers for our day, which the staff wonderfully placed for us on the day. After the ceremony, we had a small champagne reception in the walled garden, which was lovely and gave us a fantastic opportunity for photographs. The day before the wedding, I dropped off all our decorations, flowers and champagne and left it in the hands of the wonderful custodians at Plas Mawr, they organised everything for us on the day, and really couldn't do enough for us. Plas Mawr really is a beautiful house, although the house can only accommodate a small number of guests, this worked for us as we decided to only have close family and friends present at the ceremony and then we would go straight into a reception with our other guests at another venue. If your looking for something a little quirky, intimate and different, do consider Plas Mawr. The house really does have a sense of grandeur for a relatively small venue, there are also some fantastic spots for some beautiful photographs. Overall, we had the most amazing day and really couldn't have asked for anything more, Plas Mawr and the staff were wonderful and we feel very lucky to have been married in this wonderful place hidden within the town walls of Conwy.

The location was perfect, room looked beautiful, staff were fantastic nothing was too much trouble..... and comments from many guests "the best wedding food they can remember". Thank you very much for making our day so special and one we will never forget.

I had my civil ceremony & wedding breakfast here on 6th April. The venue was perfect. We had a fantastic day all round. The manager David couldn't have done enough for us. The staff were very efficient and friendly. The food and service were fantastic. All our family & friends said how perfect our day was. I would recommend this venue to everybody. staff&food was excellent,all our guests commented on the quality of the day. Even our champagne breakfast in the morning was excellent.Wouldn't change a thing about it!

We got married at Gwydir Castle in Sept 2003 and had a fantastic day. The venue is superb - caters for 70 people max- we had 60 and it felt really intimate. The ceremony was candle lit with a big open fire, but despite the cool autumn weather was really warm inside. The local registrar Dave Rees put us at ease and we made the ceremony really personal with poetry readings. We booked the venue for the whole day and had 30 people for the wedding breakfast and the caterers (Blas Ar Fwydd) were fantastic - huge portions and excellent quality and service. The owners of the castle were really helpful and met all of our requirements and helped us to source local suppliers and a nearby evening venue. The grounds are beautiful and provide many interesting backdrops for the photos complete with peacocks! I stayed at the castle the night before the wedding with my cheif bridesmaid which made getting ready fun and my husband and i also stayed at the castle for our wedding night which made it even more special - great antique four-poster bed and huge en-suite bathroom, then a great breakfast the next morning. I would highly recomend the castle for a unique and intimate civil wedding which will provide you with many beautiful memories! Best wishes, Helen
