Weddings at Madeira in Fife

We are new to Hitched but not new to hosting weddings which we love to do. At Madeira we have a large and wild two-acre Walled Garden with on-site accommodation, making it a perfect choice for an intimate Garden or Rustic wedding. Its tranquil surroundings, complete with its unique, entertaining areas, make it an enviable choice for all brides and grooms. It's within easy commute of Edinburgh and Dundee, where guests can fly or take the train.

The destination is best suited for small to medium-sized weddings for up to 60/70 guests, where you have the freedom and flexibility to arrange your own catering options or get us to organise it all for you.

Best of all? You won't have to share this with anyone because you will have the venue exclusively to yourself. No bumping into other hotel guests or feeling that you might be sharing the rest of your day with others. And your wedding weekend will last 3 days so you'll be able to spend time with your loved ones and make plenty of memories.

Accommodation

We have a total of six cottages within the estate. Eight bedrooms offer the flexibility to be both twin or double, accommodating up to 16. The cottages are fully equipped, and we can provide breakfast baskets and additional services in each cottage. We welcome dogs in the cottages, two in the large cottage and one in each small cottage.

There are also three gorgeous, fully equipped and very spacious Tree Houses with all mod cons. We had our brides and grooms in mind when we built these last year. Each has a bath or a wood-burning hot tub high on the deck, a wood-burning stove and a mezzanine bedroom with views over the fields to The Firth of Forth. The Tree Houses extend the bedroom count to 11 for exclusive use.

In addition to this, we offer six double sofa beds, which will extend the total capacity of Madeira in Fife to 34 bed spaces.

Your service

Your ceremony can take place in the garden, and you can literally pick your spot. It's very rustic and natural, and your ceremony can be delivered under an apple tree, in the woods by the snowdrops or bluebells, in The Bothy or perhaps at The Dell. The walled garden can also be used for the ceremonial part of your celebration next to the arbour or on the lawn. If it was raining or cold, your ceremony could be moved to The Bothy or into The Stretch Tent.

Your wedding meal

Our gorgeous Bothy can comfortably accommodate up to 32 guests for a seated meal and the colours and decoration can be adapted to your style. Or you can make use of our stretch tent which can take up to 60 seated or 100 standing for a finger buffet. We can organise catering on site, food trucks, picnics, BBQs, Hog Roats, etc, or you can organise the catering yourself.

We also have pop-up tents, garden furniture, small fire pits, lanterns and lighting to make the atmosphere really magical and ensure you have all the space you'll need to enjoy your special day.

Evening reception

For your reception, our stretch tent can accommodate 60 people seated, with a dance floor and space for your band. But if you have more people in mind, have a festival-style wedding with less formal dining or hire an additional tent to add to the covered space.
