The moment we visited Malt House Barn, we realised immediately this is where we were meant to get married. Janet was a fantastic hold. She was always available to provide support and assistance when necessary. Also, all the guests were impressed with our venue choice and all gushed over how pretty it was. The grounds are well kept and make such a pretty background for pictures. The gazebo is lovely. The hall is big and accomodated our 150 guests easily without feeling cramped at all. We loved the venue and would pick it over again. We absolutely recommend this place to any intending couple! It is a gorgeous venue.

Where do we begin? From visiting the venue last year right through to our wedding day, Janet and the team at Malt House Barn have been incredible! Every query was answered with reassurance which helped us to build the perfect wedding day just the way we wanted it. Nothing was ever too much for the team and we really can’t recommend them enough. Amidst the chaos of wedding planning in the middle of a pandemic, choosing the Malt House Barn as a venue was the best decision we made.

We came across the Malt House Barn while looking for venues that could provide us good flexibility. We wanted to host a reception with 100 -120 guests, with the option to hire our own caterers and decorators which many other venues did not allow.

The venue is purpose built, brand new and beautifully and tastefully made to host a ceremony or reception. The main venue hall can be seperated into 2 rooms with the room divider or opened up into 1 large room. There is a stage for small dance performances (6-7 people) or DJ/musician. There is also essential facilities adjacent to the room including toilets, kitchen, bar. Outside there is 2 beautifully maintained bedrooms which can be hired for an additional cost and 1 bridal suite which is included in the package.

The venue is run by Janet and family who have worked seamlessly with us and our wedding planner to create the perfect experience for us. From arranging site visits to liaising with suppliers they have kept clear communication and been warm and welcoming throughout. The Malt house barn was truly the perfect venue and I would recommend this to anyone who would like a cosy barn-like ceremony or reception and the independence to make their wedding their own with amazing support from Janet and family.

We cannot recommend Malt House Barn highly enough. We had an absolutely beautiful day on our November wedding, and Malt House Barn was the perfect venue for us. We were able to plan every detail which allowed us to add personal touches in all aspects which made our day feel like “us” which was really important. Malt House Barn was the perfect venue for this as we were able to have everything exactly as we wanted. While we decided to add some decorations, the venue is so beautifully finished that we wouldn’t have needed to!

With a built in bar, high quality sound system, kitchen facilities and overnight accommodation, we had absolutely everything we needed. The rooms and bridal suite especially are so lovely, with lots of space for getting ready in the morning. There is even good storage space at the venue for the bits and bobs we brought along to help setting up the day before. We had the ceremony and reception here and the transition of the space (from ceremony, to drinks, to dinner, to party) all went so smoothly we didn’t even notice! The venue also has a great heating/air con system which kept the temperature just right all day for us.

The surrounding area and the grounds make the setting perfect. The dramatic and beautiful countryside was a perfect backdrop through the windows during our ceremony, and was brilliant for our photos as the weather was kind even in November.

Janet and the team couldn’t do enough for us, Janet was so helpful with everything both in the run up and on the day, and there was no detail too small for her to help us with. From recommending suppliers to greeting us on our endless planning visits with such enthusiasm, the service was absolutely brilliant. Thank you so much, we couldn’t have asked for more.

Malt house barn is a stunning venue, the backdrop, the lawn and the gorgeous building which is so clean and gorgeous! Everything inside is perfect for you to set up the wedding of your dreams - a blank canvas for you to add your own details to it! From the first viewing we knew it would be perfect for us! And it really was. The day was perfect (helped that it was sunny so we could use the gorgeous outside gazebo)! We would absolutely recommend using malt house barn as your venue!

Where do we even start? From the moment that we were greeted by Janet at Malt House Barn, we knew that this was our wedding venue. It was the only venue that we viewed because as soon as we saw what it had to offer, we knew no other place could top it.
Firstly – on arrival, you are met by immaculate gardens which are so beautifully maintained, the indoor space is superb – ample space for dining, dancing and merriment, and the accommodation is exceptionally beautiful.
Once we had secured our date we were able to visit the venue to show family members and meet vendors which helped us to plan for our day. This was so helpful and aided our decision making hugely.
Our wedding day was slightly drizzly however in no way did this dampen our spirits or impact our day. Our drinks reception was held indoors where there was plenty of room for our hired bar to serve our guests their welcome drinks and the stage was the perfect place for our musician to play for us. The reception room, which overlooks the beautiful gardens, is vast and was the perfect setting for our long, feasting trestle tables and there was ample space for our 120 guests to be seated comfortably. When the sun came out in the afternoon, the garden was the most sensational place for photographs of us with our families, bridesmaids, and groomsmen. We also hired lawn games, which our guests loved, and they allowed the outdoor space to really shine. The stage was great for our band to play in the evening and there was the perfect amount of space for our guests to dance and enjoy themselves. Both our photographer and videographer commented on the picturesque landscape surrounding the venue which made for the perfect back drop for our couples’ photoshoot.
The facilities are exceptional and so well maintained. There are luxury restrooms for guests, a fantastic kitchen which was utilised the day before and the day after the event, and plenty of outdoor space for our caterers to set up and prepare our wedding breakfast.
As mentioned, the accommodation is sublime – better than any 5* hotel we’ve stayed in. It made for a brilliant space for the groom and his groomsmen to get ready in and was the most idyllic place to retreat to after our guests had gone home. It was spacious, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean.
Our wedding day was everything we could have ever wished for and more and this is largely due to this amazing venue – the flexibility allowed us to decorate the space just as we envisaged and for us to utilise vendors that shared our vision too.
Our final shout-out goes to Janet – the amazing owner of this superb venue. She is everything you could ever want in a wedding vendor. She is calm, approachable, friendly and has amazing eye for detail. She was incredibly helpful with our preparations and was always excellent at communicating with us. When we first viewed Malt House Barn she was in no way pushy or overbearing and was so sensitive and thoughtful towards us. We will be forever grateful for the love, care and effort that Janet has put into this venue – her passion and commitment really do shine through.
In short, we would wholeheartedly recommend Malt House Barn to any couple planning their perfect country wedding – we promise you will not find anywhere better.

Everything was just perfect! Malt House Barn feels like your own wedding home for the weekend - we would recommend extending the hire to 6pm on Sunday as you can relax and really enjoy having this wonderful venue as long as possible. Janet is fantastic and helps with organising just as much or as little as you need. It was so lovely to have the venue to ourselves, choose our own suppliers, make our wedding our own, but also know that Janet was there to manage the venue and help during the wedding weekend when needed. The grounds are stunning and the venue is a gorgeous blank canvas for anyone who wants to plan their dream wedding.

I genuinely can’t offer enough praise for the experience we had having our reception at Malt house barn. The venue had my heart as soon as I viewed it but so did Janet. To sum it up, I felt like I had an additional friend there with me on the day x x Both owners couldn’t do enough for us, nothing we threw at them was a problem and the fact they were so accommodating eased the stress of wedding planning. It was evident they are in this for all the right reasons….. the focus is you having your magical day and I can’t thank them enough for being part of ours x.

We wanted a chilled wedding in a beautiful location where we could chose every aspect ourselves , and Malt House Barn fitted the bill from the first call. Janet is absolutely the warmest, most accommodating, calm and unbelievably helpful lady with an eye for detail and a wealth of knowledge. From the first call she is a lady who fills you with confidence that she has everything on her radar and under control. The venue is extensive......a superbly fitted barn ( huge room which can accomodate ceremony [ if weather is poor] a great space for the band, a bar area,kitchen, immaculate guest cloakrooms, vast enclosed area for caterers, immaculate gardens with beautiful open views, gazebo for outdoor ceremonies, plus stunning bridal suite and two extra rooms for overnight guests.
Absolutely nothing about it failed to impress.
The bridal site is huge so there was oodles of space for everyone to have hair and makeup. Janet has thought of everything , plenty of mirrors for simultaneous hair and make up, lots of seats, luxurious decor to make the occasion uber special. Beds are made up with perfectly ironed sheets and very tasteful colour schemes. The bathroom is also enormous and beautifully fitted with high quality fittings. The two guest rooms ( both ensuite) are equally fabulous.
The entire venue was spotless on arrival,gardens too were pristine. The gazebo for outdoor ceremonies has a lovely backdrop and looks really pretty when the chairs are all in place. Those guests who had had enough dancing really enjoyed sitting outside soaking up the views.
There was masses of space for dancing and their music system was top notch. Its a light bright well designed space.
There is a huge car park too, many guests took taxis to hotels nearby and came back for cars next day.
We looked at many venues but the set up at Malt House Barn wowed us from the off. There is not a single thing I could fault here. A fantastic venue ready to " make your own" run by a wonderful knowledgable lady who is justly proud of what she created . The contractors also spoke of her very highly ,which speaks volumes.
This venue enabled us to have the wedding of our dreams, with no stress along the way.

Exclusive use gave me the range of possibilities and freedom to design my perfect night
