Moreton Hall is a Grade II listed, Georgian styled house, built in the early 1900s, located in the village of Moreton Morrell, Warwickshire.

In the early 1900s, the Eton educated American, Charles Tuller Garland, son of the co-founder of the National City Bank in New York, decided to build a house in the South Warwickshire countryside, with views over the River Avon. Moreton Hall was designed by the fashionable society architect and decorator W H Romaine-Walker and was inspired by Wilton House near Salisbury and given a Palladian style.

The Hall was completed around 1908 and designed for lavish entertaining. It featured beautiful plasterwork and wood panelling particularly in the great hall (with its barrel vaulted ceiling), library and dining room.

The landscaped grounds were extensive and included a blue garden, rockeries, a sunken Italian garden and a polo school.

The extensive drive which was lined with Wellingtonia trees, can be still be seen today. In 1920 Moreton Hall and the associated Morton Farm were purchased by Col Robert Ogilby for £35,000, following financial difficulties for Charles Tuller Garland. Col Ogilby himself put the estate up for sale in 1938 but it failed to sell that year.

In 1939 Moreton Hall, farm and estate were requisitioned by the War Office and used as a training facility to teach soldiers farming and agricultural skills. In 1948 Warwickshire County Council purchased the Estate to establish a farm institute and in November 1949 59 ex-servicemen started on a one year farming course at Moreton Hall with the Hall itself being used for staff and student accommodation and teaching.

This focus continued thereafter and ownership of the College and Hall were passed to Warwickshire College. In March 2008 the Hall suffered millions of pounds of damage in a fire that lasted three days. The roof has been restored and the building made safe, but the extensive water-damage caused by fighting the fire remains, making the Hall unusable in its current state.
