New House Farm is a historic guest house wedding venue surrounded by scenic views in Lorton Valley, Cumbria. This stunning property was built in 1650 and has retained many original features, combined with elegant modern touches, to offer a warm and inviting atmosphere for to-be-weds. Here, you can enjoy the day of your dreams within this fairytale setting.
Facilities and Capacity
New House Farm provides a picturesque location for couples to host a heartfelt wedding ceremony. This ancient barn has been expertly restored and features original exposed wood beams and traditional touches to enhance the ambience of your vow exchange. This space is suitable for up to 130 of your nearest and dearest to witness your commitment. For those wishing to host a more intimate ceremony, the country house itself can be utilised for ceremonies of up to 20 people. Afterwards, guests can enjoy a relaxed drinks reception in the open air. The surrounding scenery of this property provides a breathtaking backdrop for wedding photos while your guests sip champagne and mingle. The lower floor of the barn is a beautiful blank canvas upon which you can imbue your individual wedding vision. This space features a professional kitchen to allow for a convenient catering experience. The barn can be decorated with candles, fairy lights, and any decor you desire to create your chosen aesthetic for your wedding breakfast and evening reception.

New House Farm exceeds wildest expectations!
Got married July the 4th, 2024 at New House Farm and it was an absolutely PERFECT experience from start to end. My partner and I live abroad in Chicago so knew planning a Lake District wedding remotely might be a challenge but Hazel and the New House team made it so incredibly easy. We had calls with a few other venues who very inflexible and immediately felt a sense of relief when we FaceTimed with Hazel- she made it clear from the beginning it was our day and her and her team were there to support whatever type of wedding we wanted. The recommended vendor list was very comprehensive and made planning so much less stressful. We simply had the best wedding we could have asked for and were told by multiple friends and family that it was the best wedding they had attended, in large part to the stunning venue and welcoming staff. THANK YOU THANK YOU New House Farm- we are so grateful!

Beautiful location (no matter what the weather was doing)!
My partner and I got married at New House Farm in December and we couldn't have imagined a better venue. Hazel and her team were so helpful and reassuring throughout the planning and were so adaptable to make sure we could run the wedding we wanted in the way we wanted it! Hazel was a wonderful host and went above and beyond on the morning of the big day to make sure myself and the bridal crew were all fed and caffeinated, and the rest of the team looking after us ran everything so wonderfully, there expertise alleviated so much potential stress so we could just enjoy the moment.
Despite the inevitable winter rain on the day, the venue and it's amazing surroundings still shone through and was a perfect backdrop. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend New House Farm to any couple as a dream location to tie the knot!

The perfect venue for our perfect day!
From the minute we saw this venue we knew we had to get married here. For anyone who loves the Lake District this is a must, the scenery cannot be beaten! Since the wedding all we have had are compliments for how amazing the venue was!
The service we received was second to none, the whole team put their all into making our day even more special! We literally had the most perfect day in our favourite place! The photos and video sum up the wedding and new house farm provides the perfect back drop from them all!
With being such close driving distance to crummock water we were able to get some amazing photos and videos!

The most magical wedding venue!
New House Farm is the most amazing venue! From the very first time we visited , we knew it was the perfect place for us to get married. We had our ceremony in the newly built ‘Cow Shed’, a beautiful room with a stunning backdrop of the mountains and fields. The lawn and grounds were perfect for drinks, canapés and lawn games after the ceremony. We had our wedding breakfast and evening reception in the Hayloft, which just looked magical all decorated with fairy lights. One of the best things about the venue is the people. Every single member of staff at New House Farm was so friendly and helped to make our day perfect! We especially have to thank Hazel, who truly is a Wonder Woman! As soon as we met Hazel, we immediately felt at ease and welcomed. She was so enthusiastic and never stopped! She was there to help us every step of the way. Everything about the venue was perfect and we had the most amazing day! So many guests commented on how fabulous the venue was. We loved that we were able to completely personalise every part of our wedding, making it unique to us. Everyone at New House Farm helped our day to run smoothly and we can’t thank them enough! We would 100% recommend New House Farm if you’re looking for a beautiful venue with stunning views and the most friendly and fun atmosphere.

Stunning venue, perfect location!
There are not enough words to express how much thanks we want to give to Hazel and her team at New House Farm!
We could not have asked for a better day, perfect location, helpful staff and even the sun shone down on us.
Hazel went above and beyond to ensure the venue and accommodation was immaculate and assisted where required for two demanding brides, striking the perfect balance of being there just enough without being overbearing. The next morning, nothing was too much trouble-even a cappuccino first thing.
Just to note you need to get your own suppliers for everything including styling/dressing the barn which they will provide a list of trusted suppliers to choose from. This is where you can tailor your day to your vision. They have fully equipped kitchen for all your caterers needs. The accommodation is beautiful and was vital to have by the venue for us and the bridal party.
We cannot thank you enough and for all the assistance you’ve given to us since. We are evidence of the fact that Hazel cares deeply about each and every couple both before, during and after the big day. We highly recommend New House Farm and only wish we could relive our special day again!

The venue itself is gorgeous, the rooms are stunning and the staff were absolute gems!

Perfect venue for our wedding day August 21
We fell in love with New House Farm on our first visit. Perfect wedding venue, B&B and location. Great communication from Hazel and she was really supportive of our ideas for our special day. Hazel and staff were fantastic and ensured everything ran smootly on our wedding day. Due to the nature of New House Farm we were able tailor the wedding to what we always dreamed off. I would reccommend this venue to my family/ friends and we cant wait to visit again for a weekend break. Thank you again for our amazing day!

New House Farm… what a venue & what a team
New House Farm was everything & more. When we enquired and saw this venue 2 years ago we knew this was it.
We got married here just over 1 week ago & we couldn’t have asked for a better day. Everything was PERFECT!
Hazel and her team are absolutely brilliant, you couldn’t want for anything. From planning, to set up & enjoying our day we knew we were in the safest hands.
We highly recommend… it’d you want a perfect location, a perfect team and no stress then New House Farm is the place to get married!

My husband and I got married here and would 100% recommend! It is the perfect wedding venue!
Hazel, Gina and the rest of the team were just incredible, nothing was too much to ask and they made it run like clockwork!
We needed to iron some shirts and asked to use the iron but instead Hazel insisted that she would do it for us, there were countless other instances where Hazel went above and beyond to make our day not only as memorable as possible but as stress free!
Personally we found New House Farm is brilliantly priced considering everything you get, Hazels expertise and knowledge is simply priceless!
The bar staff and drinks were fantastic, if you are having cocktails at your wedding we recommend the solero!

Beautiful Venue
We got married at New House Farm in August 2023 & had the best day ever! The venue and its surroundings are so beautiful, and was everything we wanted for our wedding. Hazel, the owner is so helpful and makes sure your day runs smoothly, putting everything into place in the background making the arrangement process less stressful. All our friends and family have commented on how amazing the venue is too. Thank you Hazel to you and your team for making our day so special.

Perfect wedding venue in every way
We cannot recommend New House Farm enough. The scenery is stunning - all of our guests commented on how beautiful it is. It is in such a gorgeous part of the Lake District. As soon as we turned up to view this venue we knew straight away it was the one for us. There is no set package meaning we could make our wedding exactly how we wanted it and it was completely individual and unique. Hazel is so amazing at her job, so professional and friendly and will help with anything she can to ensure your day runs smoothly. When we were planning our wedding she was always just a phone call or email away and she gave us great advice every time. She is truly an expert and we can’t thank her enough.
