History

The company Ribbons and Rose has teamed up with Newbattle Abbey to provide couples with a unique property in which to exchange vows and celebrate their love. The Abbey’s heritage dates back to the 12th century, founded in 1140 by King David I. Initially a Cistercian monastery, the building and grounds have witnessed key moments of Caledonian history ranging from the drafting of the Declaration of Arbroath to frequent visits from Robert the Bruce.
