We know that there are three main considerations when choosing a wedding venue, catering, service and surroundings and Portsonachan has the facilities to make sure that everything is just right for your wedding day. Portsonachan also has a civil ceremonies license, so you can marry then have your reception in one place.

We can tailor make your wedding day for you. Tell us what you would like and we'll do our best to make it happen! Our staff is on hand to give advice and listen to your ideas.

We understand that every wedding is unique and with that we advise you on local services, hair, makeup, cars and if you would like a church wedding, the local facilities. Portsonachan Hotel makes the most idyllic setting for any wedding day here in beautiful Scotland.

Accommodation

When deciding on a venue, there are so many considerations. Least of all can you find accommodation for all your guests? We are able to accommodate your party which will make a short break for your guests.

The morning of the wedding knowing that everyone is safely ensconced in the hotel, meaning stress free preparation. We are so close to Glasgow airport, flying up couldn't be easier.

Portsonachan Hotel has nineteen en-suite bedrooms in total, each with wireless internet access. With a mixture of family, double and twin rooms available. There are five superior rooms that directly overlook the beautiful Loch Awe and the Scottish countryside. All hotel room rates are bed and breakfast inclusive, a full Scottish Breakfast for two adults served in the Loch side conservatory.

Dining

The magnificent dining room runs for over half the length of the front of the hotel. It is a glorious place to eat providing modern Scottish cuisine prepared from local West of Scotland produce and presented with style so as to complement this amazing room overlooking Loch Awe.

A wine cellar is available covering most tastes but again if you have a personal preference then please tell us and we will ensure it will be available for your enjoyment.

Beauty

We understand that everyone will be looking at the bride and that her hair and makeup is all important. Portsonachan Hotel can advise you of all the services offered in and around the area. We have a list of preferred suppliers and will provide you with this before you visit.

If you would like to purchase your wedding dress in the local area we can give you the name of wedding shops in Oban, which also provide suit hire for the groomsmen. You may need to make a couple of trips to the Hotel beforehand to have fittings.
