Had the best day of our lives at the most amazing place

September 2024
We just recently had our wedding at abbey house and it was FANTASTIC!
The staff could not do enough to help us, nothing was ever too much they really looked after us flawlessly from start to finish. The food was amazing with lots to chooce from. We stayed in the priness suite which was out of this world, with great views of the beautiful gardens and grounds. We will definitely be going back every year for our anniversary. 10/10

We just recently had our wedding at abbey house and it was FANTASTIC!
The staff could not do enough to help us, nothing was ever too much they really looked after us flawlessly from start to finish. The food was amazing with lots to chooce from. We stayed in the priness suite which was out of this world, with great views of the beautiful gardens and grounds. We will definitely be going back every year for our anniversary. 10/10

Our Winter Wedding 🤍

From meeting Lauren at the Lake District Wedding show to having our first breakfast as a married couple, the whole process was just incredible & faultless.

I had a list of places that I dreamt of getting married, but after visiting Abbey House, we completely fell in love. The food, the rooms, the staff, the grounds & the whole feel of the place really took us by surprise. Every excuse to visit the venue on the lead up to the wedding we took & by the time the day came, we felt at home.

Lauren, Laura & Rob, along with all of the other staff that we met & that contributed to our big day, we honestly can’t thank enough. Nothing was too much to ask & they made everything so easy. We had the best day & I really wish we could experience it all over again.

To be completely honest, Lauren was our biggest reason for booking this place & we will be forever grateful for everything she did 🤍

The most perfect day!

We had the most amazing wedding at Abbey House on Sunday 18th August. I could not thank the wedding team enough, especially Lauren who was like a breath of fresh air from the beginning to end. I really feel like the day would not of been possible without all her and the teams hard work. Lauren answered all my questions quickly and nothing was to much trouble. On the big day Rob and Lauren made myself and Daniel feel so at ease so we were just able to enjoy our day. The staff at Abbey House were first class, everyone was friendly and welcoming. The whole day was absolutely perfect and Lauren really is the best in the business, we will be forever grateful to her for making our big day come together!

Amazing! Can't recommend enough

We had the most perfect wedding at Abbey House Hotel. Laura and Lauren the wedding coordinators were just amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and they made our woodland wedding dreams a reality.
The attention to detail was just phenomenal from the decor to the food and the overall service that we and our guests received. They really did think of everything and even helped us arrange a pre-wedding celebration meal the evening before the wedding for our family and friends that had travelled up and gave us our own private dining experience.
All the staff at Abbey House went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and even let us plant a sausage in the gardens in the hope of good weather for our wedding (it worked).
The food was amazing and it was such a nice touch to be able to offer our guests a variety of dishes for our wedding breakfast rather than a set meal.
The other wedding suppliers that the coordinators recommended was so helpful as well when planning a wedding in an area not local to us.
The grounds are beautiful (hence why we wanted an outdoor wedding) and just a short stroll takes you to the Abbey ruins.
The rooms are next level in terms of decor and cleanliness and the honeymoon suites are just incredible.
We will 100% return for our 1 year wedding anniversary, if not before.
Abbey House is so reasonably priced whether you're going for a short stay or thinking of booking your wedding or special occasion with them and we cannot praise the staff, building and grounds and location enough. Just unbelievably amazing!

Firstly, a HUGE thank you to all three of you. Lauren and Laura, you were both unbelievably fantastic in the planning process, planning a wedding throws so many obstacles in your way that you absolutely do not anticipate when you book your special day. However, Michael and I were extremely fortunate to have such supportive and caring people at the other end of the phone if we needed it in yourselves.

We’ve said right from the beginning of the process that the one thing we got “right” was our venue at Abbey House and when the day finally came around our thoughts on this were cemented! From start to finish, it felt flawless! Nothing at all was too much to ask or to handle and we really felt like we could relax because you guys were taking care of everything to the highest of standards!

Our guests have complimented the venue so much since the day, they’ve commented on the beautiful building and surroundings, the amazing food, the friendly and approachable service and how everything felt so seamless.

In our opinion you guys are the best in the business and it’s absolutely clear that the three of you love your jobs and you do absolutely everything you can to ensure your bride and grooms have the day of their dreams.

A shout out to Michael, the manager at Oscar’s too - we’ve enjoyed the food at Oscar’s regularly since we booked our wedding and the service and food there has always been exceptional. We truly appreciated the touch of chateaubriand (prior arrangement) for the night after the wedding, cooked to perfection as always!

Incredible Wedding Venue

Abbey House are just amazing. Not only were they massively accommodating during a pandemic when we had to postpone, they were excellent in the build up to the wedding, ensuring our day went perfectly. The staff are so lovely and approachable, and the venue itself is just beautiful. If there were any issues on our day, myself and my husband wouldn’t have known due to the expertise of the staff. I’d get married here again tomorrow!

Abbey House are just amazing. We got married here on 18th June 2023 and the day couldn’t have been more perfect. We booked our wedding 3 years prior to getting married so there was a lot of planning and organising to do. Without the help of Laura and Lauren, the day would not have been as smooth running as it was. They were fantastic from start to finish and no problem was ever an issue for them. Rob was also a huge part of our day and did everything he could do for us, along with the other staff members at Abbey House. The day was just magical and we had zero complaints about anything. I would always recommend getting married here. Incredible and personal service from all involved which made the day stress free and very relaxed.
