An absolute dream! from start to finish ♡

If I could rate this hotel a billion out of ten I would, we had our wedding in December, and everything was decorated beautifully, it was so cosy and romantic. The rooms are all stunning with a great breakfast included. The day before our wedding our photographer became unwell and had to cancel, the staff being so kind stepped in and helped us take our photos of us and group ones with our guests, we owe them so much for capturing our day out of the kindness of their hearts. The people in particular, Simone, Georgia and Rhianna have been essential in making sure we had the best day ever! all the staff were so accommodating and genuinely want you to have a great day. The whole year we spent planning, they were just a phone call or email away, it made the whole process seamless and very enjoyable, rather than the usual stress. The food was amazing, the service was incredible, I cannot recommend this place enough!

Wonderful Wedding!

We got married here on Monday (non exclusive intimate package) and had the best day/stay! The team at Berwick Lodge were so kind and attentive, and it was so easy to organise particularly when we only started the process in late August! Magdalena took care of everything and we pretty much just had to turn up which was perfect for us! We can't thank everyone enough for making it so special for us, we can't wait to come again to the restaurant or afternoon tea because the grounds and hotel are gorgeous - our guests all said it was the best wedding food they'd had! Thanks so much Berwick Lodge ❤️

Lovely venue and excellent staff

We had our wedding at Berwick Lodge recently and would highly recommend it as a wedding venue. The building itself is beautiful and the grounds were lovely, particularly as we had a few children at the wedding. The staff were fantastic. We are so grateful to Georgia, Rhianna, Tan and all the staff at Berwick Lodge, for being so friendly, kind and helpful at every stage of the journey. Georgia was very responsive and accommodating in helping us get everything ready in the lead up, and Rhianna was brilliant on the day, making everything go so smoothly - she was so calm and reassuring throughout. The food was great too! Overall, it was a perfect day!

Berwick Lodge gave us the perfect wedding day

My husband and I recently got married at Berwick Lodge on 31 August 2024, and what an incredible wedding venue it is. The team are worth every 5-star review they get.

We’re not from Bristol, but we chose Berwick because we loved how characterful, authentic and welcoming the property felt. For our 65-person wedding, it was the perfect size. We saw a lot of venues that felt purpose-built for the conveyor belt of wedding season. But that wasn’t Berwick at all. The exterior building is beautiful, of course. But what I loved most is the feel of the place inside, with its beautiful wood panelling, chandeliers, gorgeous bay windows, grand fireplaces, antique dressers full of glassware and regal green dining chairs. It’s so characterful that you feel like you are in a period property having the party of a lifetime. Guests said it was like a Bridgerton wedding (some also said Saltburn in terms of the luxury country manor vibe!)

I also loved that Berwick’s Hattusa restaurant was highly regarded in its own right. During our first visit, we overheard a local family thanking the restaurant “for another outstanding meal”, which sealed the deal for us. The quality really showed through in our wedding breakfast. Guests made a point of saying how good the food was afterwards, which says it all.

Honestly, the whole experience of organising our wedding at Berwick Lodge was flawless thanks to the wedding team. We liaised with Georgia in the run up to the wedding – from first visits, to securing our date and then arranging the menu tasting and the final detail meeting. Georgia was incredibly friendly, professional and helpful, and offered great advice when we needed it. The venue asks you to organise all the details of the wedding via a Google Drive, which was very useful and well thought out. The wedding pack provided us with pretty much all the information we needed, but Georgia was always there on email to answer any questions.

On the day, we were looked after by Rhianna and Tan who were both so calming and organised. What makes their service stand out is they are so kind and lovely to the couple. It just leaves you feeling reassured and looked after by your wedding venue, which is all you want on such a special day.

We had exclusive use of the wedding venue, with friends and family staying over in the hotel. Everyone was very happy with their rooms. Lydia, Phyrgia, Troya and Kappadokia were particularly amazing. Real wow factor rooms. My only regret is not taking the option to exclusively book out the venue for the night before the wedding.

Ultimately, Berwick Lodge is a fantastic wedding venue. Our wedding day ran smoothly, everything was high quality and well-presented, and our guests had the most fantastic day. We would definitely recommend it to other couples.

Perfection

There is not a single thing I can fault. My mother was ill the day before my wedding and was dreading having to run around sorting things out but when she arrived staff were all over it. Immaculate service. The wedding coordinators are some of the most lovely people you'll meet and so phenomenal at what they do. Tons of my guests raved about the food. I'm sorry but if you book any other venue you're missing out big time. Massive thank you to every single member of staff. We really appreciate you.

Dream Wedding Venuw

Our wedding venue! If it were possible to give a rating higher than 5, we would.

When we first started looking for a venue for our small wedding, we really struggled to find somewhere. We visited a few places that said they could cater for a wedding of less than 20, but then they seemed a little uncertain about what to show us or offer when we had a show-around. That's when we started looking further afield and came across Berwick Lodge. From our first visit, they blew us away. The grounds are beautiful, the hotel itself is full of character and charm and importantly for us, they were really enthusiastic about our small wedding, and were the first venue to tailor their show-around. When we mentioned having kids, they incorporated things they might enjoy into the viewing. From our first chat, they started offering up ideas to make our day truly what we wanted.

As soon as we booked our date, we were introduced to our wedding-coordinator Magdalena who was wonderful. Always quick to respond and eager to help, Magdalena made sure that we felt supported for the entire year in the run up to the wedding. Just a few weeks before the wedding, we had our final meet up to go over the plan and she walked us through the whole day in complete detail, meaning we could leave comfortable in the knowledge that everything was in hand and nothing was overlooked. All that was left to do was get excited!

On the day of the wedding, Berwick Lodge gave us all we could hope for and more. Our guests were blown away by the venue, their rooms and the delicious food. There was way more than we could eat or drink, and nobody was left wanting. Knowing about my son's food allergies, they made sure he had plenty of options suitable for his diet well in advance. Our kids and grown up guests had a wonderful time exploring the grounds with all of its hidden gems during the day. In the evening, in the glow of chandeliers and candlelight, the hotel looked truly magical. But what impressed everyone most was the team at Berwick Lodge. Everyone was warm, welcoming and just went above and beyond to make us feel special. While my groom and I were off having photographs, they saved us a plate of canapes to make sure we didn't miss out. When I was ready to put my bouquet down, Nicoletta at Berwick Lodge swept in and offered to put them in water.

If we could do it all again, we would in a heartbeat. Berwick Lodge is an incredibly special place and we're so glad we found it.

5* Professionalism for the Whole Package

We cannot recommend Berwick Lodge enough. Not only is it a beautiful venue in a stunning location, but the Weddings team were awesome in helping us craft, plan and execute our wedding day.
Prior the the day, the wedding coordinator Georgia, who is amazing at her job, kept us on track with what we needed to sort by when and helped us with the finer details. On the day itself, we had a fantastic duo of Rhianna and Tan to ease our nerves and make sure the day operated flawlessly. They are all such lovely people that it was a joy to have them as part of our day - it made all the difference.
The venue itself was ideal for our wedding of ~50 people, but I'm sure would work well with more than that. We were blessed with great weather, so had a lovely outdoor ceremony by the fountain, and then our guests enjoyed drinks in the grounds for most of the reception.
The food is amazing - we got a ton of compliments from our guests that it was the best they had had at a wedding.
The rooms are also so nice - my wife's niece said it was like being in Buckingham Palace!
All in all, couldn't rate it enough and if you are considering Berwick Lodge, we'd encourage you to go and take a look around!

Beautiful June Wedding

Berwick Lodge is quiet simply breathtaking! It is reviewed often as a "hidden gem" and more than lives up to its title.

We found this wonderful place in Jan 23 and instantly fell in love with the gorgeous building, stunning grounds and most of all the people. We spent 18 months planning our wedding day and the level of care, service and quality of it's wonderful staff was second to none. On the day, everything went off without a hitch, food and drinks all superb, rooms of the highest standard and care from the staff was amazing.

Every room in Berwick Lodge has a uniqueness to them but all share a high quality and luxury feeling. All of our guests were stunned and loved their stays. We stayed in the Lydia (bridal suite) and it was the best, with a beautiful bathroom, bedroom and view from the balcony. Perfect way to wake up on your first day of married life.

The food and drink is exquisite! From the selection of canapés for our reception, the wedding breakfast (lamb main) and evening food, all were delicious, tailored for us and presented beautifully. The chefs, kitchen and waiting staff deserve such high praise for not only the quality of the meal but their attentiveness to our guests throughout the day and night making sure everything was on time and glasses were always kept topped up. Just excellent.

The wedding day was faultless, made possible by many people but most of all Georgia Bradley. She is incredible in all ways possible, everything you could want in a wedding co-ordinator and made our day so special. Her support during the entire planning stage was professional but above all caring, helping to make our day unique and exactly how we hoped.

The seamless execution of the day was flawless down to the hard work and friendliness of all the staff who are fantastic. Special mention to Tam our restaurant manager for the brilliant running of the wedding breakfast and evening event and Sarah the owner of the venue for bringing such a high quality and beautiful aesthetic to Berwick Lodge, and being there on the day to share the celebrations. Thank you all for making our day so memorable.

I cannot recommend this idyllic place for your big day, any occasion or simply a great getaway with fantastic scenery, dining and hospitality. Berwick Lodge is incredible. 5 Stars!

A dream come true

I haven't got a single bad word to say about Berwick Lodge. We opted for their elopement package and from the moment we arrived we felt at home. Every single member of staff we met was kind and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. The food was sublime and the room (Lydia) was beautiful. Magdalena (our elopement coordinator) made sure our wedding day was easy going, stress free and most importantly exactly how we wanted it. As a package the elopement option is the full deal, a two night stay with meals included and an hour with a photographer all organised for you. The package is also flexible so if something isn't your style it can be tweaked. I would recommend Berwick Lodge over and over again.

The BEST wedding venue there is!!!

We got married at Berwick Lodge in spring this year, and choosing it as our wedding venue was the best decision we possibly could have made! If, like we were, you are reading reviews and trying to choose a venue, I can’t recommend enough that you drop everything and book a viewing to see this incredible place for yourself!

From our very first viewing, the care and attention that we received from the team at Berwick, especially the wonderful Georgia, was second to none. They made the process of planning our wedding so smooth and enjoyable, and were always happy to help with any questions we had. On the day itself, the whole team couldn’t have been more kind and helpful, with everything running in a really calm and organised way thanks to their hard work. Georgia and the staff at the Lodge really do think of everything to make your day as special as it can be - there were so many little details which helped make it unforgettable for us!

The Lodge itself is unbelievably beautiful - it was a magical place to get married in and has so many lovely spaces, whether you’re hoping to hold your whole day indoors or spend most of the day outside in the stunning grounds (or a mix of both, like us!). Both indoors and outdoors are beautifully and uniquely decorated, full of charm and character. The bedrooms are jaw-droppingly gorgeous (especially Troya!) - it was fantastic to stay overnight, with plenty of rooms for family and friends to stay too, and breakfast the next day was delicious.

Which brings me to the food - it was AMAZING! Everything we had was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented and generously portioned, eliciting lots of great feedback from our guests! There are lots of options to personalise your wedding food for your day, and the team and kitchen were fantastic with dietary requirements. They were kind enough to invite us to a tasting evening a few months before our wedding, which was great fun, and everything we tried was stunning.

On a practical note, Berwick Lodge is fantastically located - it has the feeling of a remote country venue because of the surrounding woodland, but it is a stone’s throw away from hotels at Cribbs Causeway and Bristol itself. We found it to be more competitively priced than similar types of venue we also viewed in the local area. And, because it is a hotel and restaurant when not closed for a wedding, there is the lovely option of coming back again and again to celebrate your wedding anniversary - which we can’t wait to do!

Overall, there really are no words to describe what a magical place Berwick Lodge is, and we couldn’t be happier to have got married there. Thank you Georgia and the team for making our wedding day so special!
