We hosted our wedding day at Bigstrup Farm in July 2024 and could not have asked for more from our venue and the team we worked with.
We live locally in nearby Haddenham and couldn't believe our luck when we found it. The property and grounds are absolutely stunning, including two barns (the beautifully restored Tythe Barn and spacious Meadow Barn), courtyard garden with covered bar area, playroom, and large gardens with sweeping views of the Chilterns. This provides couples with flexibility to devise their day in a way that suits them, and (fortunately for us!) means there are always options for wet weather.
Will was fantastic to work with throughout the process, from our initial site visit to recommending suppliers to helping keep things running on the day. I can't think of anything we requested which he didn't offer a solution for, and his communication was great throughout. Will managed a fantastic team on the day who ran the drinks service, ensured the spaces were set for different parts of the day, and even helped get some guests home when taxis no-showed! Bigstrup Farm is a family home and family-run business, and you can see this through the tremendous care of the property and pride taken in delivering an amazing experience.
Some helpful pointers for couples considering Bigstrup Farm...
1. It's a DIY venue which means you'll need to source your own suppliers, including catering, and decor. We loved this as it gave us total control on who we worked with and how much we spent, and we had some great recommendations from Will for suppliers they'd worked with previously.
2. They don't have a licence, yet, which means you'll need to consider a licensed venue for your legal wedding. There's a beautiful church in Dinton if you're local, the registry office in Aylesbury is nearby or there are other licensed spaces in the area, but again worth considering. We had a blessing in Bigstrup Farm's stunning Tythe Barn and it was perfect.
3. They only do one wedding per weekend, which (for Saturdays) gives you x2 days for set-up and Sunday to pack everything down. This was a huge advantage compared to other venues that might pack in three weddings per weekend and really squeeze your time on site, and you'll be especially grateful for the lie-in the morning after!
In summary, we were absolutely delighted to have chosen Bigstrup Farm for our wedding. Will, family and team - thank you for everything. Susie and Mike x

We had our wedding here last weekend and it couldn't have been any better. The venue is amazing, and the service and support from Will and the team was first-class. Everyone who came said how perfect it all was. I'd recommend this place to anyone. -

Amazing Wedding at Bigstrup Farm
Thank you to Will, his team and all at Bigstrup Farm for making it an incredible day for us. The venue looked beautiful and everyone commented on the day about the service, the environment and how stunning it all was. Will was massive supportive throughout and we couldn’t have been happier. Fully recommend Bigstrup Farm if you’re looking for an amazing venue for your wedding. -

Perfect countryside venue!
Bigstrup is a perfect countryside venue if you're looking for a low-key venue, where you can add lots of personal touches! We can't thank Will enough for all of his help in the lead up to our wedding weekend and the weekend itself. Will and the team are so lovely and did everything they could to make the day run smoothly.
So may of our guests commented on how beautiful the farm is and how relaxed it was. It was everything we ever imagined and more!

We recently had our wedding reception at Big Strup Farm and there will never be enough thanks to say to Will and his team - they went above and beyond to ensure we had a perfect day - even getting a Guiness tap installed at our request ! The venue is absolutely beautiful and has everything that you would need for your day , all my guests said how stunning it was and how they wished that their wedding was there ! -we had so many comments about the the bar staff on the day and how kind and polite they were and made sure everyone had there drinks ! / To us and all our guests we could not of wished for a better venue and only wish we could do it all again - thank you so much Will we all have wonderful memories from our day - Big Strup Farm will forever be in our hearts ❤️ -

Will and the team could not have provided a better service throughout all the planning and on our wedding day. The venue is truly beautiful and fitted the relaxed feel we were looking for. The separate areas for dancing, chatting and eating around a courtyard meant no waiting around for rooms to be swapped and allowed our guests to relax along with us but still feel connected, something that is rare in a wedding venue. It is also very family-friendly with lots to entertain the little ones - a pirate ship climbing frame, actual pigs and a play area. We have had so many comments from our guests telling us just how much they loved Bigstrup Farm and we could not agree more.
The team on the day were extremely friendly and professional and helped wherever required to make our day extra special. Will is exceptionally personable and made us both feel extremely relaxed and confident right from our first meeting and it was a pleasure to work with him and the whole Bigstrup team. His communication in the lead up was incredible, answering literally all our questions in record time, photos, recommendations and all. It made the whole process so much easier. He was also open to the few suggestions we had to allow us to make our day our own, including adding some local gin to the bar menu.
Overall, Bigstrup was instrumental in making our day all we could have dreamed of. If you are looking for a beautiful, friendly, relaxed, family-orientated wedding - look no further. We could not recommend highly enough. -

After attending a wedding at Bigstrup Farm 2 years ago we couldn't think of a better venue for our own special day.
The setting is perfect and as for the high quality of service we received from Will, it was outstanding, nothing was too much trouble.
The setting is beautiful and relaxed and all our guests have commented how excellent everything was
Will, you and your team are so professional and I can't praise you or thank you enough.
Our day was perfect THANAK YOU !!
