    Worst wedding venue! Total failure

    Please do not consider booking a wedding here. They are scumbags. They will promise you a lot and do near nothing. We are literally considering all options to make they pay for everything failing. They failed us totally. Do not trust them. They stressed me as a bride out even on the day of my wedding. Honestly we only chose the venue because of the first events manager. Once she left, it has been horrendous. We were caught up with them because we had agreed to the contract. Once I have been advised properly, I will leave a more detailed review of what they did. Please do not trust them!

    Thank you for staying with us at Crowne Plaza Marlow for your Son's wedding celebrations during the bank holiday weekend Our congratulations again to the wedding couple .and we appreciate your choosing our hotel for this very special occasion.

    We are very pleased that the wedding was enjoyed by all and that your son and daughter in law were able to enjoy their wedding ceremony on the beautiful lawns adjacent to the lake following by their reception in the new Winterlake Suite. We received very positive feedback from all the guests on the day which is always positive .

    I apologise if you were in any way inconvenienced by the routine request for a pre authorisation of £ 50 per room for incidentals against your card. This is the standard published hotel policy for all our guests.

    As you unfortunately have chosen to post a review online regarding the damage your chair provider caused to the brand new floor to ceiling wooden door , i am now obliged to reply.

    During the course of the day you arranged for a large quantity of timber chairs to be brought into the Winterlake Suite and stacked in very high piles very close to the wall and door whilst our events team were in the gardens setting up for the ceremony on the lawns. Due to the manner in which your chair provider stacked the chairs far too high and too close to the wall and door, one of the chair stacks fell and in the process, a very deep and large scratch /dent of circa 100cm in length was caused on the new door due to the impact of the falling stack of your chairs.

    In order not to cause any issues to you at the start of the celebrations when this was noted by the Events Operations Manager and his Assistant Manager, they waited until after midnight when the bride and groom had left before speaking to you in person, to show you the damage . At no stage did either of them speak to the bride or groom and it was in fact yourself who then went and called the bride, who then started shouting at the long tenured assistant events manager.

    The Hotel Operations Director who had just left the hotel for the evening , was asked to return to speak to you It was a very amicable discussion and you jointly assessed the damage and were explained that under the contract, this damage would be the responsibility of the bride and groom .

    Your husband assured the Operations Director that he wanted to accept full responsibility for the damage and he provided his contact details and credit card pre authorisation with regard to any potential costs to reinstate the damage to the Winterlake suite door

    The Operations Director committed to see whether the damage could be resolved by the maintenance manager and if not
    your husband and yourself fully accepted that you would be liable for any reinstatement or replacement charges . The maintenance manager attempted to resolve the damage to the door the following week, but despite repeated attempts, it became evident that the impact of the chairs had irreparably damaged the door and it will need to be replaced. You were provided with a detailed explanation as well as a photograph of the door taken following the repairs, and were invited to come and view the door if you wanted to do so. A French polisher attended too , but due to the depth of the damage, the French polisher advised he would not be able to resolve the matter and the only solution was to replace the door

    You were informed that a requested for the replacement cost of the door from the original supplier had been made and that the indicative costings had been advised at £ 1,750. In the interim you were charged with £1000 to your credit card as provided to guarantee the reinstatement charges, and you were further advised that as soon as the final costing had been provided and the door replaced, we would be in contact for the balance to be settled . You were further provided with the initial invoice for your records . I apologise for any disappointment but trust you recognise the above true and factual accounting of what actually occurred .

    As you will be aware you were upgraded to one of our new Club Rooms with Club Lounge access for yourself and your husband during your stay. Following the wedding reception, you invited a large group of your guests into the club lounge, where a selection of drinks are provided between 17.00 - 19.00 only, and you forced open the fridge and removed 8 bottles of wine which you and your guests consumed in the early hours of the morning.

    Great service

    I stayed here the night before my wedding and I cannot recommend the hotel highly enough. The staff couldn't do enough to help me and Mihaly the rooms manager went far above and beyond to help me and ensure my stay was comfortable and as good as it could be. He even phoned the room to check all was ok.

    Perfect

    Thank you so much again to the Crowne Plaza for your service on 04/06/2011. Everything was perfect. Guests thought the venue was amazing. Kate McGovern and the operations team were extremely accommodating and moulded the day to fit our theme and requests.
    Location for photos were gorgeous and the building was modern yet fitting for all themes.Food for the meal and nibbles on arrival was fantastic. everyone was so impressed.

    Magical Day

    I had my wedding at Crowne Plaza Marlow in December, it was like a winter wonderland. When you enterted the hotel, their was a beautiful christmas tree in the centre, which set the scene. We had our civil ceremony, in the conservatory, which over looked the lake, it looked stunning. we then had our wedding breakfast in the winterlake suite, the food was amazing and the staff were so kind and friendly. All in all a magical day, I would recommend everyone to have their wedding here.

    Great Wedding Venue

    We held my daughters wedding at the hotel on May 1st 2010 . From the outset everything was "spot on" . The wedding organiser Amy Williams took care of even the smallest detail and on the day the food , service and atmosphere was highly commended by all our guests . I can highly recommend Crowne Plaza Marlow .

    Brilliant Day

    We had such a wonderful wedding day at the hotel in January - the area was covered in snow which made for some fantastic pictures. In the warm, the food and service were perfect and all our guests had a fantastic time.

    Such a perfect day!

    I was bridesmaid for my best friend last month at the Crowne Plaza and I would just like to thank all of the staff for making her day so special.

    The venue, the food, the service were all excellent.

    Wonderful hotel

    We had a great time, the food was delicious and lots of it and the staff were great so a big thank you to all of them, including the chefs of course.
