Magic at The Manor House

We enjoyed our fairy tale wedding at The Manor House in October 2024.
We initially viewed The Manor House in August 2022, from the second we walked in the staff were welcoming and warm, we felt like they knew who we were as soon as we arrived.
We met Cassie the venue coordinator who wanted to get to know us, she took an interest in how we met, our story, our engagement and what we were looking in a wedding day - there was no pushy sales conversation or pressure to sign a contract (unlike other venues we had viewed).

We enjoyed our fairy tale wedding at The Manor House in October 2024.
We initially viewed The Manor House in August 2022, from the second we walked in the staff were welcoming and warm, we felt like they knew who we were as soon as we arrived.
We met Cassie the venue coordinator who wanted to get to know us, she took an interest in how we met, our story, our engagement and what we were looking in a wedding day - there was no pushy sales conversation or pressure to sign a contract (unlike other venues we had viewed).
We left with lots of information and knowing that Cassie truly loved her job and believed in The Manor House and the team there.
Life happened and we got busy, living abroad the wedding planning took a back seat when we left the UK. Cassie touched based here and there, but didn't press us to sign a contract or hound us with promotional info and emails.
Fast forward to April 2023, we reached out to Cassie again for a second viewing, we'd pretty much made our minds up - we couldn't stop talking about the venue for close to a year, the setting, the attention to detail from the team, everything felt perfect, even from afar. We re-met with Cassie, who remembered all the details we had covered in our initial meeting, it was like she'd known us for years, we felt comfortable as if chatting with a friend, and of course, we booked! We stayed the night and ate at The Bybrook (which is highly recommended in itself) the news of us signing the wedding contract spread to the staff, who at every interaction congratulated us and made us feel like we were the only guests in the house, despite being a fairly busy evening.
We visited the venue July 2024 to complete our menu tasting and confirm the final details with Cassie, again, she and the team were fantastic, the attention to detail from everyone was incredible and no matter how detail orientated we were and wanted to be on the day, Cassie and the team matched our energy. There wasn’t anything that we asked for that they didn’t find a solution for.
Communication with Cassie was a breeze, from the moment we booked until the day itself, living abroad didn't make any difference, she was always there, at the end of the phone or an email, no question to small or silly. She accepted deliveries for us, she unpacked items and sent us photos, she even helped us track down a lost invitation – that’s dedication!
Finally, it’s the week of the wedding, we arrive on Tuesday for our Thursday wedding. Cassie greets us with a huge hug each and reassurance despite the last-minute tasks. The team were ready and on hand to unpack the car, run errands, help with unpacking boxes, nothing was too much trouble. The house still had other guests staying that weren’t part of our party, but again, we felt like we were the only priority.
On Wednesday we met with Emma who oversees the day-of running with the events team, within 5-minutes we felt like we’d known her 5 years. She’d read through our function sheet and studied it so she knew all of the little details and double checked exactly how we wanted things to run. Cassie popped in after the meeting with Emma and excitedly wanted to help me hang my dress up ready to be steamed, she ooooohed and aaaaaahed at it, I felt like a true princess and it wasn’t even the wedding day yet!
Morning of the wedding and the bridal prep room is a hive of activity, staff continuously congratulating me, helping us run gifts and cards to guests and keeping us both updated on the arrival of suppliers, in a reassuring rather than stressing way.
I walked down the aisle on my own and Cassie knew how important this was for me, I was dressed and ready to go with Emma waiting by the door for the cue to head down to the ceremony, and a knock at the door, Cassie arrives. She hugs me and insists on helping to carry my dress down the stairs and gave me all the reassurance I needed while waiting to take my solo walk down the aisle, she even nailed the dress fluff perfectly!
Once you visit The Manor House you will fall in love with the charm of the house, the village and the fantastic team. You’ll be in safe hands and once you’ve viewed, it will be impossible to get The Manor House out of your head. The day was seamless, we were the Lord and Lady of The Manor and we couldn’t have imagined a better day, we don’t think it would be possible to top our experience!

Perfection

This place is incredible. Every detail from the grounds to the rooms to the food, and the staff is so lovely and attentive we felt like we were the only ones to ever get married there. Cassie in particular is so warm that you feel like she is a member of your family. Could not recommend more highly our wedding was perfect in every way!

Outstanding from start to end

Wow, what can I say about The Manor House and the team! Truly an incredible team, our wedding day was just perfect! I would highly recommend, the service was fantastic, grounds just beautiful, hotel is amazing!

Wedding ceremony & reception at the Manor House

The Manor House was the first venue that we saw for our wedding and our first choice. Located to the amazing village of Castle Combe and surrounded by tall trees, lakes and streams makes it a place straight out of a fairytale. The hotel itself is glamorous and grand. The wedding coordinators are excellent in debriefing every detail, being flexible and walk by you throughout the process. Everything was perfect in every detail. The food, the canapés, the wine. All personnel in our toes. Our day was celebrated and honored . We are going back for our 1st year anniversary .

Ben and I were due to get married at the beautiful Manor House, Castle Combe on 29th May 2020. However, by the middle of March, the likelihood of our special day being a reality was getting smaller and smaller. When the situation first unfolded, Gemma was on it straightaway, put us at ease, and came up with a million solutions to help make our day happen. I knew instantly we were in very safe hands. The pandemic escalated very quickly after that, and by the end of March, we knew our day was not meant to be, and postponing was our only option. Gemma, again, jumped on the case immediately, was always so positive on the phone and by email, making me feel like I was the only bride in the world- which I know was not the case at all. We now have a new date for April 2021, and the transition was so smooth and easy, thanks to Gemma’s exceptional positivity and organisation. We have not lost a single thing, only gained an extra 10 months to enjoy the build up. We cannot wait to visit The Manor House again, as soon as it’s safe to do so, to toast our new date in the amazing gin bar - hopefully Gemma can join us!
If we feel the same love and support that we have received so far on our new date, we know it’s going to be a truly special day.

So, the moment came when we made the decision to postpone our wedding. There were quite a few tears, and the feeling of utter disappointment as the government confirmed weddings could not take place. We’ve been engaged since Sept 2018, and were due to get married on the 20th June 2020. So much preparation had gone into planning our wedding, The Manor House is where we got engaged and it is our dream venue. We were getting more and more excited as our day approached, only to have it taken away from us much like many other couples across the globe.

So, the moment came when we made the decision to postpone our wedding. There were quite a few tears, and the feeling of utter disappointment as the government confirmed weddings could not take place. We’ve been engaged since Sept 2018, and were due to get married on the 20th June 2020. So much preparation had gone into planning our wedding, The Manor House is where we got engaged and it is our dream venue. We were getting more and more excited as our day approached, only to have it taken away from us much like many other couples across the globe.

But postponing our wedding has been a positive experience, The Manor House (Gemma Smith our Wedding Manager) kept us up-to-date on the hotel’s situation and managed to book our new date next year with no issues. All of the suppliers that the hotel recommended were amazing, completely understanding and amended their contracts to accommodate us. They worked closely with us to switch to our new date seamlessly and to our absolute relief.

We had amazing support from our family and friends who were nothing but sympathetic and supportive. My partner was my rock and going through this has only made me want to marry him more. We celebrated re-arranging our date with a bottle of Champagne we had been saving for our wedding. The silver lining of this whole situation is when we are all able to celebrate next year, our day will be even more special. Nothing was more important to us than having our friends and family happy and healthy. Another silver lining is I have another year to lose some weight for my dress!

Our Wedding at the Manor House

My husband and I got married at the Manor on 14.09.19 and I cannot say anything better about our experience! The Manor House was gorgeous, welcoming, accommodating and beyond fun! I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a quintessential English wedding!

The Perfect Place for a Dream Wedding!

Where do we even start!!

The beauty of the Venue and grounds speak for themselves! I challenge anyone to not fall in love with the quaint cobbled Village of Castle Combe from the moment you step foot into it, let alone The 'Magical' Manor House!

We just want to say the biggest heartfelt thank you to all of the team at the Manor House. Jo and Gemma, the support and advice you gave from start to finish was amazing and made everything so much easier on the day! (even with all my questions ;p). Fab ladies, couldn't have done it without you!

Also please can you extend our thanks and compliments to the Chef (Rob) and his team! The food was INSANE! The number of guests who came up to us to say the food was the best they have ever had at a wedding (or ever).

So much love for the Manor House - such a special place!

Stress Free Wedding

We are both extremely grateful to everyone at the Manor House for making our wedding so enjoyable and stress-free. We couldn't have selected a better venue, both the hotel and gardens were so beautiful and represented the perfect setting in which to celebrate our big day. The team were fantastic, everyone was so friendly and courteous, always happy to help with any needs we had. Special mention must go to both yourself, as your diligent and fastidious planning made the day go so smoothly and of course, Karolina whose professionalism was second to none, a true star that attended to every aspect of our day.

The food was delicious, the wine delightful and we are all made to feel so special on the day. I recall that our photographer was especially impressed with his vegan meal and proclaimed that he had never had been so well looked after. You even managed to keep the rain at bay, which considering the bleak forecast a week beforehand, was such a relief!

We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone at The Manor House every success in the future, we will have to ensure that we return for our anniversary!

Two Grooms - One Amazing Wedding

Our wedding at The Manor House went beyond our wildest dreams. It was the storybook wedding we had hoped for made only better by the amazing staff, the beautiful grounds and the elegant grandeur of the buildings. Coming from the USA and having never visited the location before was an internet gamble that paid off big time. We were constantly put at ease by the open communication with wedding coordinator Gemma Smith and the staff. They were always available and helpful beyond belief. It made the planning our wedding easy and all the recommended vendors they suggested were top notch. When the day came, everything went off without a hitch. We were taken care of and treated like royalty....
