A perfect day

We had the most amazing wedding at the Moat House, we already had high expectations and they were completely exceeded. When we initially came to view the venue it was the one we had our hearts set on, but we were expecting it would cost us too much - so we were incredibly surprised at how reasonable it was when we got the quote.

The other big selling point was our wedding co-ordinator Vicki, from the initial meeting she was way more organised and easy to deal with than anyone from the other venues we went to, and once we booked the venue she took incredible care of us every step of the way. She was there...

We had the most amazing wedding at the Moat House, we already had high expectations and they were completely exceeded. When we initially came to view the venue it was the one we had our hearts set on, but we were expecting it would cost us too much - so we were incredibly surprised at how reasonable it was when we got the quote.

The other big selling point was our wedding co-ordinator Vicki, from the initial meeting she was way more organised and easy to deal with than anyone from the other venues we went to, and once we booked the venue she took incredible care of us every step of the way. She was there on the day and made sure everything went off flawlessly. You often hear stories of weddings being incredibly stressful to organise but that was never the case for us, and I think Vicki had a large part to play in that.

The venue itself is stunning, and there are plenty of options for where you can hold your ceremony, wedding breakfast and reception. The team are really accomodating in allowing you to use the venue in a way that works for you.

The other big draw for us was the food - we intially wanted to view the Moat House after seeing that the restaurant has two AA rosettes. It was absolutely incredible, and several of our guests told us that it was the best wedding food they'd ever had. I may be biased in this respect but I fully share that sentiment.

Lastly but far from least, I should shout out to how well all of the staff treated us on the day. Such a professional and friendly operation - there's nothing they wouldn't do to ensure we were happy and everything was running smoothly. We didn't get a chance to speak to a lot of the various servers, cooks and bar staff who were involved but we could definitely see what a thorough job they were doing.

I wouldn't change a thing about our experience that day, and it's something my wife and I will remember and treasure for the rest of our lives. If you're thinking about getting married here then take the plunge, it doesn't get better than this.

A magical wedding day

We had our day on the 28th December and it was perfect from start to finish thanks to Vicky, Emily and the team. All through the planning process the communication , responsiveness and professionalism has been first class, nothing is ever a problem. The actual day was perfect and we felt so well looked after by everyone . Anything we wanted was in place even before we realised we wanted it ! All our guests commented on the level of service and quality of the food and one guest commented that ‘I never saw Vicky without a big smile all day ‘
Thank you for making our special day truly memorable.

Christmas Wedding

Emily Hewitt and the rest of the Moat House team were absolutely incredible in helping us to organise our Christmas wedding.
We chose to have a celebrant - Tracy Munday - to conduct our wedding ceremony, which took place in the intimate Colin Lewis Suite, located upstairs above the restaurant. We chose Little Events to organise our wedding styling.
Emily Hewitt helped to liaise with our chosen wedding team to ensure that our day ran beautifully. The downstairs venue looked fabulous and the canapés were delicious.
Despite an unforeseen power cut, there were no other hitches. The Moat House provided candles - which only added to the romantic mood. With lighting sorted, speeches done and drinks in...

Stunning Venue with Exceptional Service

On the wedding morning itself I felt treated like royalty enjoying a beautiful breakfast buffet in the private library where we were able to get ready.

When my husband and I returned after our church ceremony Emily greeted us at the car door with glasses of prosecco and announcing our arrival to our guests!

She was on hand with whatever we needed all day and even had a pizza from our evening food saved and sent to our room with a suprise bottle of prosecco for us at the end of the night making us feel truly spoilt.

We cannot recommend The Moat House enough and are extremely excited to return on our 1 year anniversary.

Short Notice December Wedding

My partner and I would not have changed a single thing about our small wedding. We started planning our wedding in September for the December. Emily and the team went above and beyond for us to make sure that our day was perfectly planned. No matter what the problem, they were able to find solutions and no request was too much for them! We only had 10 guests and the team made each and every guest feel welcome and were there for us throughout the day. Emily decorated the ceremony room for us on the day, creating an intimate and cozy feeling; exactly what we wanted.
The venue offered many different photo opportunities and being a dog friendly...

Fantastic Wedding (5th July 2024)

The Moat House was a brilliant venue for our wedding. The location and hotel are wonderful and the staff exceptional, especially our wedding coordinator (Emily).

We got married at The Moat House in September and cannot recommend the venue and Vicky and the team enough. From the day we first went to visit the venue everyone was really friendly, helpful and welcoming and we definitely got a good feeling about booking our wedding there.
Nothing was too much trouble for the team, and everything I asked for or wanted was fulfilled with a smile. Vicky in particular was just amazing both leading up to and on the day of the wedding, she made everything just perfect and we can’t thank her enough. We had the best day and want to do it all over again!

Our perfect wedding 19/10/24

We cannot recommend The Moat House enough. Vicky and the team have given us the best experience from day one, and we've been made to feel special throughout. Everything on the wedding day ran like clockwork, the food was delicious, the rooms were dressed beautifully, and the grounds are lovely for lots of photos to capture precious memories. Vicky worked her socks off from first thing in the morning, right through to late into the evening, making sure everything was perfect for us and our guests. Thank you so much for everything!

Absolutely Amazing Wedding Day

The Moat House is such a beautiful wedding venue with a choice of reception rooms and the library to prepare in and of course the stunning grounds and lake.
Nothing is to much trouble for the staff they are so accommodating.
Emily was our coordinator and she kept the events going to perfection from start to finish.
The food was amazing. Plenty of rooms for guests.
We had alot of complements off our guests about the venue and the food being brilliant.
Get married at The Moat House and you will not be disappointed.

Absolutely no doubt in recommending The Moat House
