A Perfect Wedding - exceptional venue and incredible team

My husband and I celebrated our wedding reception at The Orangery on the 3rd of August, and we couldn’t have imagined a more perfect setting. This exclusive English country estate was our only choice from the moment we first saw it—around four years ago! The venue itself blends timeless elegance with a warm, relaxed atmosphere, creating a stunning backdrop that we and our guests adored.

From start to finish, the team at The Orangery, particularly Karen and Sara, went above and beyond to make everything seamless. My husband and I celebrated our wedding reception at The Orangery on the 3rd of August, and we couldn’t have imagined a more perfect setting. This exclusive English country estate was our only choice from the moment we first saw it—around four years ago! The venue itself blends timeless elegance with a warm, relaxed atmosphere, creating a stunning backdrop that we and our guests adored.

From start to finish, the team at The Orangery, particularly Karen and Sara, went above and beyond to make everything seamless. Karen was incredible, even holding dates to ensure we could book the photographer we wanted. We never felt pressured into decisions or payments, and with several meetings and ongoing message threads, the team was always prompt and professional, offering invaluable experience and advice that made us feel supported every step of the way.

Karen and Sara helped guide us through our church ceremony rehearsal as well, offering a wealth of insight. They provided table seating plans, easels, and other essentials that helped take away so much of the stress of planning. They also liaised directly with all our suppliers—even managing a few dramatic ones—to ensure the day ran smoothly, allowing us to enjoy every moment leading up to it.

Karen recommended Tom Coe Catering for our wedding breakfast, and our tasting experience with him was fantastic. They arranged the tasting session and wine tasting at The Orangery with great attention to detail, even working with their sommelier to recommend wines that perfectly complemented each course. The food and wine were exceptional - our guests have continued to rave about it!

On the day itself, the team looked after us flawlessly. They worked quietly in the background, keeping an eye on everything, ensuring all our guests were comfortable, and even guiding the MC when we needed to rearrange responsibilities last minute. We rented the cottage from the Friday night, and they kindly gave us early access to both the cottage and The Orangery itself to start setting up the week before. Karen’s assistance even continued the next day, as she helped take down the flowers.

We truly couldn’t have wished for a better venue or team, and we highly recommend The Orangery to anyone considering it as their wedding venue. The countless messages and comments we’ve received about the day reflect just how special it was. Thank you to Karen, Sara, and the entire team for making our dream wedding come to life!

Dream wedding

The Orangery is unlike any other venue wedding venue we have come across and it was the perfect place for our wedding. The location itself is idyllic, private and uniquely stunning. From the gorgeous Italian touches like the beautiful frescoes to the tempietto in the gardens, there are so many exquisite details which set this venue apart. It is also next to a historic church, with a lovely Vicar, which was a beautiful place to get married. The proximity also meant that there was no time wasted on travel in between the ceremony and reception – we made the very short walk from the church to the Orangery itself along with all of our guests in procession which is...

The Orangery is unlike any other venue wedding venue we have come across and it was the perfect place for our wedding. The location itself is idyllic, private and uniquely stunning. From the gorgeous Italian touches like the beautiful frescoes to the tempietto in the gardens, there are so many exquisite details which set this venue apart. It is also next to a historic church, with a lovely Vicar, which was a beautiful place to get married. There is also an incredibly charming onsite cottage which you can stay in, and meant a short walk to the ceremony on the wedding day (and more time to get ready with the bridal party!).

As well as the stunning location, the Orangery offers a truly bespoke experience. Karen and Sara were a joy to work with and extremely generous with their time; sharing their wisdom down to the finest detail in our planning meetings, which was truly invaluable. Karen and Sara were also extremely helpful in recommending suppliers and sharing design ideas, as well as directly liaising with the many suppliers on our behalf in the lead up to the wedding (confirming directions, arrival times, important information etc), which took the pressure off our shoulders. We are also very grateful to Karen and Sara for allowing us to have access to the venue in advance for the week of the wedding too (unheard of at other venues), so that we could enjoy the set up without feeling pressured. Every detail was considered, down to the smallest touches and both Karen and Sara were there on the day to ensure everything ran as it should from behind the scenes, so that we could totally immerse ourselves in the joy of the day with our guests. All of the staff on the day were lovely and the service was second to none.

We could not be more appreciative and cannot recommend the Orangery more highly. Thank you so much!

Dream Wedding at The Orangery at Settrington

The glass-fronted Orangery is incredibly well-lit with natural light and the space was incredibly versatile where a well-rehearsed team seamlessly transitioned the space from our ceremony to the wedding breakfast and later to the dance floor.

The gardens at The Orangery are impeccably maintained, offering a range of picturesque settings, from the Rose Garden and Tempietto to the fountain and lake and every corner of the grounds provides a stunning photo opportunity. Although the venue is dog-friendly, we chose not to bring ours - they would have likely spent half the day in the beautiful fountain!

From our first consultation to the final farewell, Karen and Sara were attentive, professional and genuinely invested in making our day personal and unforgettable. Because The Orangery only hosts a handful of weddings a year, Karen and Sara were able to take the time to learn about us as a couple and help us ensure our wedding was perfect for us. They were also able to suggest a whole range of suppliers that they thought would be well-tailored for our wedding.

On our wedding day, Karen and Sara were the epitome of reliability and professionalism. They worked tirelessly around the clock and no stone was left unturned to ensure that our day went smoothly and any little hiccups we encountered (such as the bride’s dress needing extra attention!) were promptly met with a solution. Their experience shone through and their expert coordination meant we could focus on enjoying our celebration without a hint of worry. The whole front-house team were smart and friendly and suppliers were able to seamlessly work together like cogs in a machine.
If you are searching for a wedding venue that combines elegance, romance, and impeccable service, you will find no better venue than The Orangery at Settrington. We are profoundly grateful to Karen, Sara and their team for hosting our special day and helping us create memories that will last a lifetime. We cannot recommend The Orangery at Settrington highly enough for any couple searching for their perfect wedding venue.

Just the most amazing venue. Karen and Sara were first class and I couldn't recommend more

Where to begin?! The Orangery at Settrington took my breath away the moment we entered through the gates for our viewing. Karen, the estate owner, personally greeted us and gave us a tour. We never felt rushed, and she took the time to answer all of our questions over a lovely cup of tea. The venue itself is stunning – the grounds are picturesque, and the gardens are nothing short of spectacular. One thing we particularly loved was the proximity of everything. We married at the charming All Saints Church, just 100 metres from The Orangery, and stayed in the cottage on the grounds, making my morning walk to the church a blissful two minutes! From a planning perspective, I couldn’t have asked for more. Sara and Karen were always available to answer our questions, offered excellent supplier recommendations, and worked tirelessly on the day to ensure everything flowed seamlessly. We met with them in person several times before the big day, and each time, I left feeling reassured that everything was under control. The itinerary was clear, and Sara coordinated directly with our suppliers, making the entire process stress-free.

While the venue isn't the cheapest, we genuinely felt it was worth every penny. The Orangery offered a level of personalisation and flexibility that we didn’t find at other venues. Unlike some places that felt like "wedding factories," The Orangery allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the experience. We arrived on Friday and didn’t leave until mid-afternoon on Sunday, giving us an entire weekend to enjoy the magic of the venue.

If you’re searching for a venue that offers exquisite beauty, unparalleled personal attention, and a flawlessly executed wedding day, look no further. Karen and Sara, you didn’t just deliver our dream wedding – you surpassed it in every way possible. We’ll forever be grateful to you both for creating the most magical weekend of our lives. On a practical note, a church next to the venue is very convenient for those who want a religious ceremony. The quaint town of Malton is nearby for guests to stay.

The venue and setting are just breath-taking and the cottage on site was the most idyllic place to stay the night before. We fell in love with The Orangery on our first visit, so much so, we emailed Karen as soon as we got home and didn't look at anywhere else.

The support we then received as we worked closely with Karen and Sara throughout the planning stages, which I must add they really drove forward for us, was outstanding. Supplier recommendations, suggestions on entertainment and added extras, and also finding us a super videographer when...

The caterer we selected from their preferred supplier list ( Tom Coe ) only added to the exceptional service. Every step of the planning process ( 16 months from booking ) was personal, friendly, attentive and nothing was too much trouble.

The day itself ran like clockwork and we have had so many compliments - both on the day and afterwards - on the service and the venue. The team ensured we were where we needed to be at each moment, and whilst we fell behind (of our own doing!) we were never alerted to the fact so we never felt under pressure! Was everything we imagined and more.

We honestly can't speak highly enough of Karen, Sara and the team and the venue itself. As soon as you visit, you will fall in love.

Very special and unique venue

It's a very special and unique venue with stunning grounds and beautiful interiors. We knew that the gardens would be lush and green and the interior of the venue would look beautiful with the summer light streaming through the big windows. The Orangery staff made the wedding planning easy and stress-free. Nothing was too much trouble. The Orangery is the perfect venue with a knowledgeable, kind and genuine team. The Orangery only holds 12 weddings a year and they like each couple to have their undivided attention in the run up to your day. There are very few venues that offer what they do - they are truly amazing!

First class wedding venue

I don’t know where to start. The venue itself is breathtakingly beautiful and is uniquely different to anywhere else we looked at in the area, we knew instantly it was ‘the one’. It’s highly versatile, has plenty of character and most certainly has the WOW factor, our guests definitely agreed with us. Karen, Sara and Jane, were all absolutely amazing. My dream wedding wouldn’t have happened without them. From the very beginning of planning to the very end, they were always there with great advice (I used several of their recommendations for other suppliers and was not disappointed with any). A magical and dream wedding day!
We had the most perfect and magical wedding at The Orangery. It was a complete dream come true and was even more perfect than we could have hoped for.
