  Wedding disappointment

  We had our wedding here in May 2024. Would not recommend. Our meetings running up to the wedding were very positive and attentive. Unfortunately on the day staff were noticeably absent whenever (multiple) problem arose. Not everything that was discussed and agreed on was delivered. The provided DJ was awful, played very little of the artists requested in advance by email in and caused a couple of embarrassing moments (trying to encourage the first dance whilst everyone, bride and groom included, was gathered at the cake for the cake cutting). The wedding breakfast had mixed feedback. Allergen requests were not appropriately catered for (3 GF portions agreed, only 1 provided, nothing on the buffet was labelled for allergens). Breakfast was very slow,. multiple items were cleared out within minutes of being put out and there was then a lengthy wait for more to be cooked. These are just some of the issues. The venue itself is looking very tired in places. Feedback was sent to the venue 8 days post wedding (whilst on honeymoon!) and it has taken multiple chasers and 95 days for them to reply and the situation is still not resolved.

  Wedding planning made simple!

  We have had nothing but positive experiences in planning our wedding day from start to finish with The Potter's Heron. We found it incredible that compared to other venues they don't charge a premium rate for the time of year to get married so we were able to have a summer wedding like we wanted at no extra cost. The actual cost of the wedding was extremely reasonable for what you get and we were able to discuss amendments to the general package inclusions so that it would fit the needs of our wedding better.
  Communication was fantastic throughout and I knew I only had to send Rachel an email whenever questions popped up along the way and it would be answered. We loved our food, the wine selections, choice of food for buffet and we were never made to feel like we were just another wedding booking of the busy summer period. Our needs were taken into account to enable the whole day to run smoothly and all of the staff were so friendly and welcoming to not only us but our guests too. The venue and its staff gave a real feeling of 'family' working together and this was really nice to experience on such a personal day.
  Cannot rate this venue and its staff better, and thank you for making the biggest aspect of our special day the easiest part to plan!

  Outstanding very helpful

  Best Experience

  We just wanted to write to you and thank you for all of your and your teams work with us. We had the best experience from start to finish and couldn’t have asked for a more lovelier group of people to help us with our wedding.
  As soon as we visited The Potters Heron we knew it was the right place for us to start our married life together, it’s been more than a perfect experience from helping us with all our queries to letting us have Alpaca on the day! The food was absolutely delightful and the atmosphere was incredible all the way through the day and into the evening.
  Our family and friends have all said how much they enjoyed everything and will be coming back for a visit soon I should imagine, as will we.

  Huge thank you

  Just a note to say a HUGE THANK YOU for making Ben and Rachel's wedding such a success on Saturday. All the guests said the food was amazing, best they'd had at a wedding, and the atmosphere lovely and friendly. Jean was great and enabled the day to run so smoothly - Thank you

  A big thank you

  Just a note to say a big thank you to all your staff in helping Kay and I celebrate our wedding at the Potters Heron. They were all first class from the time we arrived on Friday evening to set up, through the ceremony and the excellent wedding breakfast, the MC was superb and the following celebrations, just amazing. And to you of course for making it all go like clockwork from our first meeting many months ago. Very professional throughout

  The day was everything we could have hoped for

  Now that things have settled down a bit for us I just wanted to send you a message to say a big thank you for making our special day so wonderful. Everyone at the hotel was absolutely brilliant from yourself helping us organise things, John keeping things running smoothly on the day, the ladies at reception being so very helpful and friendly and the bar and waiting staff being lovely and even having a dance behind the bar at the end of the night which was nice to see (working in the industry ourselves we know that it's not always easy to stay happy and perky all of the time)! Please also give our thanks to the chefs, everyone has told us how fabulous the food was and we couldn't agree with them more!
  
  The day was everything we could have possibly hoped for and we have taken away the happiest memories.

  A well organised, happy and memorable occasion

  Our Golden wedding reception was such a well organised, happy and memorable occasion. The Tables were beautifully laid , the serving staff were kind and helpful and the guests all said how delicious their meals were and how efficiently they were served.
  One of the guests wishes you to know that of the three golden wedding receptions she has recently attended, in "comparable hotels" ours was the best one in every respect.

  You would be hard pressed to find a better place

  Joanne and I would like to say a massive thank you to Nina and all the staff at The Potters Heron Hotel for making our wedding on 5th December 2015 such a special day. The hotel looked amazing, all the staff were fantastic, the food beautifully cooked and presented. We can't thank you enough and anyone looking for a venue for their special day would be hard pressed to find a better place. Thank you again:)
