Riseholme is a period country home located within several acres of beautiful grounds, with far reaching views across the stunning Sussex countryside. Constructed in 1880, it's a classic example of a "house beautiful" period home and to date the current owners are only the fourth Custodians of the property-no one wants to leave!
The estate is convenieniently located within a 15 minute walk from Haywards Heath mainline train station, which is only 45 minutes from central London and 10 minutes from Brighton. Located in the pretty village of Cuckfield, known for it's indepdendent boutiques and cosy traditonal pubs, Riseholme is perfectly located for guests travelling out of London who wish to return the same day.
The current owners have carried out a three year, sympathetic, renovation of Riseholme, where every effort has been made to retain and return many of the original features back to their full period glory to keeo this beautiful property at is best for future generations to enjoy in years to come.
Riseholme offers a multitude of beautiful spaces to curate as you wish; the ability to move around these areas during your day allows for several different looks and a unique day for each couple.
Facilities
The Sunken Garden
Our licenced Sunken garden provides a very natural and intimate private space to host any kind of ceremony or blessing. It is a magical setting, nestled in a secluded and beautiful area in the grounds and suitable for up to 100 guests.
The Picture House
Newly constructed in 2022, the Art Deco inspired Picture House has it's own kitchen, wet room and mezzanine bedroom, accessed via a spiral staircase, as well as a bar. The large floor space allows for bridal parties and groomsmen to get ready in style and comfort, while enjoying a cocktail or two! The Picture House also doubles up as accomodation for two the night before the big day and on the day itself.
The Marquee Lawn
This area offers the perfect location for your marquee or establish socialising areas, which enables your guests to take in the far reaching views.
The Glass House
Situated in the location of the estate's original glass house, this newly constructed space offers a very dramatic setting with stunning panoramic views over the Sussex countryside. The Aga logburner keeps toes toasty for Autumn and Winter events and this dynamic, magicl space leads straight out onto the viewing terrace and Old English Orchard. Picnic hampers at the ready, with lashings of ginger beer! This space is suitable for intimate dining of up to 24 guests.
The Pool and Pool House
Our pool area and Pool House offers a unique party space that feels like you are in the South of France. The Pool House with its "Cocktail Window" and outdoor kitchen (featuring an Argentine Grill for fire chefs and Morso pizza oven) offer endless opportunities for the catering of your event.
The Meadow
Our wild meadows offer the opportunity for alfresco dining with a stunning backdrop, or is a suitable space for glamping.
