Set amongst trees and meadows in the beautiful Henley on Thames, the River & Rowing Museum offers a unique and contemporary wedding venue nestled in the heart of Oxfordshire.

Our spectacular, licenced glass fronted Thames Room can seat up to 120 guests for a ceremony, 80 guests for a wedding breakfast, and 120 guests for an evening reception. The Thames Room also has an adjoining terrace, perfect for drinks, canapes or informal barbecues.

The perfect wedding venue in Henley, the Thames Room at the River & Rowing Museum offers impressive views of the surrounding willow trees and rolling meadows. Bringing the outside in, the room also opens out onto our beautiful terrace, where guests can enjoy pre or post wedding drinks. This outside space gives you the freedom to make the day your own: a themed bar; Moroccan themed chill out area; marquee; hog roast; BBQ; taco stand – the opportunities are endless.

The Museum has its own jetty, so your wedding party can make a dramatic entrance, or exit, by boat, making your special day even more memorable.

Additionally the International Rowing Gallery, laden with rowing history, is an extraordinary setting for your guests to dine in. It has a seating capacity of 160 people or can accommodate up to 300 people for a standing reception.

Our spaces are very flexible in terms of decoration and layout, giving you the opportunity to create a celebration that is unique to you.

Ceremonies, wedding breakfasts or evening receptions can be coupled with a champagne reception or evening party aboard a luxury passenger vessel from our private jetty. The Museum is licensed until midnight every day of the week.

Once your ceremony is over and you're officially a newlywed couple, the River & Rowing Museum can prepare a delicious wedding breakfast. We provide the best of seasonal British produce without froth or fuss! Our menus and prices vary, from formal three course wedding breakfasts, to informal sharing platters and barbecues. Whatever style you decide to have, both you and your guests will be in for a culinary treat!

The Museum is easily accessible by train, bus, car or boat. We have on-site car parking for up to 70 vehicles.
