Facilities and Capacity
At Runa Farm, relaxed Spanish influences augment the venue's rich farming heritage to create earthy, elegant, and beautifully immersive spaces. The ornate tented ceiling, smooth polished stone walls, statement staircase, and shimmering lanterns of the Runa Farm Chapel combine to create a wonderfully ethereal effect.
The Old Barn is the perfect setting for eating, drinking, and merriment. This delightful timber and exposed stone building is brimming with character and is flanked on two sides by picture-perfect private terraces that will make you and your guests feel like you're living in a dream. Of course, life on the farm is all about the outdoors, so whether you want to have welcome drinks in the courtyard or dine in the meadow, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the fresh air and the open spaces.

Our beautiful, magical, perfect day.
Out of this world best venue
Jenna our wedding coordinator whom morning was too much trouble to all the brilliant staff at Runa farm I’m only sorry I didn’t get all their names! So I’ll list the ones I can remember - the lady who walked us round the night before and tended bar during the day (eve, Ava, Eva possibly) lovely lady. The lady on the front desk who late into the evening before when we realised we were scammed by our photographer came to the rescue and called Tom another member of staff who wasn’t working the day of our wedding but took the time to come and shoot our wedding between studio time - a budding photographer whom I’d recommend to anyone showing us shots along the way that look to be amazing without taking our masses of time of our wedding day. We can’t thank him enough for his time and pricing.
Few other shout outs - Ian our master of ceremonies what a guy just had us feeling at ease all day and couldn’t do enough for us. The lady also running our day I didn’t catch her name but she took the time to check on my 6 year old nephew when he became overwhelmed with emotions and had to sit in the bar area during speeches to chill out. There was also a waitress short hair with red in just lovely always a smile on her face. All the staff infact just fantastic and professional.
The food! My word so many complements that it was the best wedding food they have ever had! So well worth the money. For context we had breakfast bites arrival bites, canapé reception after ceremony. For the wedding breakfast we had gourmet bbq with pimp your own fries, crepes and waffles with lots of different toppings. Then fish and chip cones in the evening food along with the cake.
Venue itself just stunning from top to bottom.
Out of this world
We used the farm house the night before which was well equipped and such a gorgeous place to get ready. It’s such a relaxing environment to calm any nerves!
The day its self was managed by Emma, who had initially shown us around, and she went above and beyond to make sure it was perfect. She took away any stresses or worries I had straight away.
Ian was our master of ceremonies and he was great, nothing was too much to ask and he was great with our boys.
The serving and waiting staff were fab but special mention to Lewis who was there from the night before until we checked out the day after, he was very helpful and friendly, an asset to the venue.
The only negative I have is that the day is over and we can’t do it again!
I would recommend Runa to anyone looking for a well run, organised, stress free wedding in an outstanding location and beautiful venue!
Perfect day start to finish
From the first step into Runa Farm we were looked after. We were fairly certain from the images online that it was the wedding venue for us but seeing it in person was just another level! It’s the perfect mix of rustic and elegant and the ceremony room is just dreamy!
Our wedding coordinator Jenna was incredible throughout the whole process and I don’t think she could have made us both feel any more confident about everything if she’d tried. Her communication was amazing and everyone went above and beyond accommodating any requests that we had. We could tell that we’d chose the right venue and company.
Each and every part of our day ran perfectly and that was all down to the staff. All of the waiters/waitresses and bar staff were so lovely and the bar staff especially made us feel super special throughout the day. The food was also incredible!
Emma who was at reception on arrival started off the few days perfectly and set the tone making us feel really excited. Our meal on the evening before with our family and friends was also lovely in the Smithy.
Becca our wedding manager made us feel at ease from the get go during our meeting the night before. She didn’t miss a single detail and was happy to make any tiny changes that we needed. On the day she was so relaxed which wore off on me, my husband and the rest of the bridal party. Even though she was really laid back, I could tell she was also amazing at her job and was going to make sure all the details were spot on.
A special mention has to go to Ian the MOC on our day. Ian was actually at our food tasting evening back in December, so it was lovely to see his face again. His aura just makes you feel instantly at ease and you can tell he truly loves what he does. Myself and my husband could rave about him all day long, he looked after us like we were royalty. My Mum also had so many good things to say about Ian. He really made her feel comfortable and helped her whenever needed. Ian is the perfect MOC and he is absolutely amazing in this role.
From start to finish our day was just a dream and we can’t thank everyone enough!

The wedding of our dreams
From the start, the whole team were incredible, and our wedding coordinator Jenna was helpful, kind and attentive to everything we needed/wanted.
The venue was everything we could have hoped for, from the decor, service, rooms and food, it was all perfect.
Major shoutout to our wedding manager on the day, Emma, and out MC Ian, who were utterly perfect and made the day go off without a hitch. Couldn't fault a single thing they did, they went above and beyond to make it the most stress free wedding day for us both.
10000% would recommend anyone to get married here, you won't be dissapointed, and all our guests commented on how incredible the venue and staff were!

The staff, the venue and the location are all amazing!!
Situated near Barnard Castle, plenty of accommodation nearby. However, the rooms at Runa are unreal! With scenic views and landscapes, even ponies!
The venue itself was breathtaking. From the chapel with it's grand staircase, to the reception room with the overview balcony.
All of our guests could not believe how magical the venue was and all said they would definitely return for a weekend away.
Cannot fault this beautiful venue! It went beyond our dreams!!

Hitched without a hitch- a 5 star wedding at Runa!
We just wanted to pass on how amazing the day was for us and to thank everyone for how smoothly the planning and organisation went.
We also wanted to thank those like Mark who showed us around last year and immediately made us want to get the day booked, the catering team- we know we're biased but it's honestly the nicest food we've ever had at a wedding!
The accommodation rooms were absolutely gorgeous- and the venue itself is just such a show-stopper, there's nothing quite like it.
Rebecca, who saw to everything the night before with me at the Farmhouse and wedding morning- she was absolutely phenomenal, covered every single base and everyone kept saying how calm I was on the morning and I think Rebecca was a main factor in this so a big thanks to her!
Bar and reception staff were all lovely to deal with too- the lovely blonde lady at reception actually stopped us forgetting our wedding cake as we went out the door so a special shout out to her too haha.
There's absolutely nowhere quite like Runa, it's a very special place and you've clearly got a fantastic team of people all top of their game- I'd be scared to be your competition! Thank you so much for accommodating all our requests and helping us get hitched without a hitch!
Lauren Martin was absolutely perfect as our wedding planner/co-ordinator; a pleasure to chat too, very friendly and completely put us at ease with the whole process. Lauren always dealt with our queries very promptly and nothing was ever too much trouble, which is exactly what we needed in a planner- calm organisation, support and reassurance! Thank you so much for your services, you're clearly very good at your job and a credit to the Apartment Group.
