Rydal Mount & Gardens is a picturesque wedding venue located in Ambleside, Cumbria. Nestled in the heart of England's Lake District, this property allows you to exchange your vows with stunning views of Windermere and Rydal Water. It was previously the beloved family home of William Wordsworth, and he lived here from 1813 until his death in 1850. It's still owned by the Wordsworth family today and has been lovingly kept to maintain a sense of comfort and hominess. Wordsworth, a keen gardener, designed the five acres of gardens himself.

Facilities and Capacity

At Rydal Mount & Gardens, you can host your wedding festivities in the front rooms, dining room, and gardens. There are rooms registered for civil ceremonies, which have space for seating up to 80 guests. Your vendors, meanwhile, will have access to the tearoom. Tents can be set up on both the Mount and Lower Lawn, so you can make the most of the stunning Lake District views. The garden's fell-side terraces and rock pools will be beautiful backdrops for your wedding photos. Parking is available on-site for several cars.

You'll be able to meet with them for an initial consultation to go over your day, and any ideas you have. You'll also have access to lighting and various items of furniture to streamline the planning. Additional extras are available to take the celebrations to the next level, including a tree-planting ceremony and a permanent personalised seat in the gardens.
