From the get-go we knew we loved Saltmarshe Hall. We had been viewing other venues but none of them ticked the boxes like this one, even boxes we didn't know we had! It has beautiful grounds, a fabulous mix of contemporary and classic decor and a vast array of period features to centre photographs around, including the walled gardens, Lime Tree Ave. and that incredible curving staircase in the atrium.

Amy couldn't do enough for us and was with us through every step of the planning, the meal choices and table plan, the taster evening and making time for our check-ins during the lead up to the event. She spent the whole two days corralling wayward guests and organising our outside suppliers, ensuring both myself and my new bride had everything we could possibly need, usually before we even asked for it.

All the staff were wonderful, exceeding all possible expectations. The pool party and barbeque the day before were lovely and the cooked breakfast really set myself and the guests up for the big day in the morning (bride had delicious fruit and pastries in the bridal suite whilst getting ready with the bridal party).

All the food was exceptional, far exceeding our expectations of wedding catering from previous experience as wedding guests, the three choices presenting excellent value for money (definitely go for that!). The canapes were delicious and a selection was brought to us separately, allowing us a quiet few minutes away from the hustle and bustle together before the next round of photographs.

Everything ran so smoothly and we just went with the flow, our trust in the staff and venue well-rewarded. It's true what married folks tell you: it goes so fast after so much planning: it really is over in a heartbeat, but I wouldn't change a thing about it, even the hour of rain we had in the evening reception didn't dampen any spirits, as the venue had ample space inside, and the covered patio was heated and comfortable.

We honestly can't recommend this venue highly enough. You may find something cheaper in your search but cheap doesn't always mean value for money. You will have peace of mind with a booking at Saltmarshe Hall, and for the most important day of your life you need all the support you can get so that you can focus on simply enjoying yourselves and spending time with the people you love.

We came to Saltmarshe Hall after a drive with my parents when we were discussing where we might like to host our special day and decided to come visit the hall as we were 15 minutes away and thought we might be able to see what it looked like from the outside. We arrived at the hall and from the second we stepped in the building we were greeted by Ashleigh who on the off chance had time to give us a quick tour. After looking around with her after 20 minutes we instantly knew that Saltmarshe Hall had to be our choice. After looking at other venues online we couldn't stop thinking about how this had to be the venue for where we got married. We booked the venue and were so so excited to start planning. 
The planning for the day was made so much easier and less stressful by the amazing team who were always so helpful and would respond to all of our questions and worries. We were always told how stressful wedding planning could be but the team at Saltmarshe made it so simple. 
When it came to the day we were so grateful to the team as they took every stress and worry of our shoulders. The team are so professional and made the whole day run like clockwork. Not only was the venue absolutely beautiful but everyone was so relaxed and had the best time. Everything looked and felt so much more magical then we ever imagined it would but it was completely us and felt so special. We felt so looked after and really enjoyed that the people that we spent a year and a half planning with were there to spend the day with us. Everything was thought about even down to being there for holding our champagne while we were having our photos taken. 
We are so grateful to the whole team and would one hundred percent recommend getting married here. Getting married at Saltmarshe was truly the most special day of our lives and we wouldn't have changed a thing. 

From first reaching out to Saltmarshe Hall about booking a potential wedding at their stunning venue we were met with nothing but kindness and professionalism.
After looking around at one of their wedding fayre’s we knew we just couldn’t get married anywhere else. The hall its self is just beautiful, with the option of having ceremony’s outside which is an added bonus as these areas are just as gorgeous and well maintained.

On the day of the wedding I was put at ease by our coordinator Ashleigh, who is so experienced in what she does. Nothing is too much to ask, she is so lovely and just the kind of person you need in charge on your wedding day. I had my heart set on getting married outside but unfortunately the weather was not on our side, but the way the ceremony room was set up for the ceremony (and the whole day) I was no longer disheartened after seeing it.
The food was absolutely delicious, since the wedding everyone has commented on the food and said they have never had food as good at a wedding.
The selection of drinks available at the bar as well - amazing!
The rooms available for guests to stay in have also been finished to a very high standard with the price including breakfast together the following morning, again absolutely lovely.

Everything ran so smoothly, all the staff at Saltmarshe were so kind and helpful, to give context my daughter misplaced her teddy every one of them helped us find it, so nothing really is too much to ask.

Saltmarshe has had a special place in my heart from being a little girl and walking around the grounds with my Dad, so having our wedding here has just made it all that bit more special to me. I can’t thank Ashleigh and the team enough you really are all amazing at what you do and I wish I could do it all over again!!!

I’m not sure that we’ll ever be able to put into words our gratitude to Ashleigh, Amy and the entire time at Saltmarshe Hall for all that they all put into our wedding and everything leading up to it, but we will try our best...

From our first visit to Saltmarshe for a show round we know we’d found somewhere very special. Its rural, river-side setting is unmatched by any of the other venues we visited local to our respective family homes in Yorkshire and the Cotswolds, with its totally enchanting grounds and gardens, spending time there is nothing short of magical. The Hall itself has been so sympathetically and comfortably restored, we were really impressed by how the elegance of its original Georgian features is complemented by relaxed modern interior decoration and furnishing, all of which we knew would require very little dressing up at all for the wedding, which is exactly what we wanted. We therefore couldn’t believe our luck where we were able to book our wedding and a post-wedding pool party over an August Bank Holiday weekend.

Despite this, It’s fair to say that I was initially very reluctant when it came to wedding planning, having been through a really stressful time around booking the wedding and thereafter, we were feeling really anxious about it. We therefore hadn’t really engaged at all with Saltmarshe Hall or in wedding planning (and had booked nothing) when we were invited to our first details meeting, six months before the wedding. So, in a panic, I called and explained our situation to Ashleigh and I’m so glad that I did as I instantly felt better — she couldn’t have been more understanding, caring and reassuring. This was a huge turning point for us and we were finally able to start feeling more excited than worried — I will always be so very grateful to her for that.

We first met Ashleigh in person at our first details meeting, which we left knowing we were in the most capable hands possible — we trusted her entirely. She went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and to help us catch up with anything we’d missed. She, Amy and their chef even organised an extra tasting evening for us, which we enjoyed so very much. The food was not only delicious but presented with such care and attention to detail, including the dish the chef had made specially at our request. (We thought there was absolutely no way that it could possibly be as good on the day, but, spoiler alert, if anything, it was even better!) Throughout the months leading up to the wedding, no request we made, no matter how big or small, was ever too much for Ashleigh, who was always on hand to help and, we really felt, couldn’t have been more invested in us or our wedding day. She is truly one in a million and we couldn’t feel more lucky to have been able to work with her.

From start to finish, Ashleigh, Amy and the Saltmarshe team ran our wedding to absolute perfection. They were always ten steps ahead, anticipating and being prepared for every possible eventuality, planned or otherwise. This meant that we were able to be totally in present in the moment with our guests (and I am not someone who switches off easily) and make the most of every single second. Ever since the wedding, our guests have also had no end of compliments for Saltmarshe Hall and loved it for all the reasons we did and more. It would therefore be impossible to note everything that impressed us and them over the weekend (the list would go on forever), but just a few of the highlights include: the friendly front of house staff who looked after everyone and couldn’t have done enough for us; the absolutely delicious and beautifully presented food, which was enjoyed by everyone regardless of their dietary requirements; how well my Mum was accommodated as a wheelchair user; the impeccably kept grounds and gardens; the sheer peace and quiet of its location that made us and our guests feel like we were in our little world… Our only complaint is that we can’t do it all over again!

I cannot stress enough how our expectations have been beyond exceeded by Saltmarshe Hall and every single member of its exceptional team, we are beyond grateful to them all, and especially Ashleigh, for giving us and our guests the wedding weekend that dreams are made of — thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

We look forward to taking every opportunity to come back and spend more time at Saltmarshe Hall and with the team in the future, and we wouldn’t be surprised if we had a number of our very impressed guests in tow!

We recently celebrated our wedding at Saltmarshe Hall in March this year, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect venue. From start to finish, the staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly professional, making the entire experience unforgettable. A special thank you to Ashleigh, whose attention to detail and impeccable organisation sold us on the venue from the very beginning. Her dedication ensured everything ran smoothly, and we felt completely taken care of.
We hosted 96 guests across both Friday and Saturday with exclusivity, and the entire weekend was a dream. The Hall itself is stunning, with its amazing bones and features that have been sympathetically decorated to enhance the elegance of the space. The neutral backdrop allows you to create any atmosphere or colour theme you desire, making it versatile for any vision you have in mind. Which made it a perfect choice for me.

We had the most amazing wedding day in April 2024.

We originally viewed saltmarshe at an open evening in July 2023 and fell in love with the venue. There were no summer 2024 dates left, but Amy contacted us to let us know of some April deals where they offered a discount rate and money towards the amazing All occasions of Howden.
After some thought, we decided to take the plunge and plan the wedding in 9 months.

We visited Saltmarshe for a couple of meetings in the planning stages, and we got more excited every time. Amy was always enthusiastic and would handle our requests at ease - even when we had numerous changes to the meals.

We booked all the rooms for two nights and felt like royalty for the weekend, having all our family and friends there for two evenings. We chose the family style meal for the night before the wedding and it was such a special evening spent with close friends and family.

We had our ceremony in the morning room, which was light and beautiful, even if you have a rainy day! We also chose the morning room for the wedding breakfast, and it looked incredible with the beautiful styling.

The venue itself was stunning and we had so many guests compliment it. There are beautiful walled gardens to have photos in, and we loved the set of the venue itself with areas that guests could relax, such as the library. The bar is just down the corridor from the morning room, so we also opened the outdoor bar for the evening to reduce pressure on the bar.

Amy was fantastic on the day, and managed to manoeuvre all the guests with ease so we could get all the shots we wanted. Tim was also amazing at ensuring everything ran smoothly and all the guests were happy.

Compared to other venues we viewed, Saltmarshe is a great value, high quality venue and we were able to add all the extras we wanted to truly make it the best day ever.

We had a fantastic wedding at Saltmarshe- we got married under the trees with the festoon lights which felt magical. Everyone was so impressed with the venue when they first arrived and it looked brilliant with a black tie dresscode! The food was top notch and Amy and Ash are very helpful with ensuring that everything ran smoothly. We had the best day and wish we could do it all over again!

We got married at Saltmarshe Hall in July 2023 and I am absolutely lost for words on how amazing it was. From booking to the day, everything was absolutely seamless.

Ashleigh was our main source of contact and my goodness, this woman is just incredible at her job. She made sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. The meetings felt so easy and stress-free. We came away feeling confident that we wouldn’t need to worry about a single thing on the day which was absolutely the case.

All the staff here from reception to waiting to kitchen were exceptional we have had so many guests tell us after our day how amazing and accommodating they were for guests of all ages.

The venue itself is just stunning, with so many options on where to have the ceremony and photographs. There’s also ample space indoors for guests if the weather isn’t great. The venue is also very well lit, which is perfect if you want lots of natural light in your photographs.

The food here is absolutely incredible. I got told as a bride I wouldn’t really eat anything on the day but believe me I ate every single course. Myself and my husband are veggies and usually vegetarian options and weddings are pretty basic and a bit boring… Saltmarshe have an ENTIRE menu for vegetarian food and it was all unreal. We did not imagine we would be completely stuck for choice when choosing our food options!

Ashleigh and the Saltmarshe team made our wedding day a dream come true. There are so many wonderful things to say we do not know where to begin.

From the first moment we walked into Saltmarshe we knew it was the place we would get married and make the most wonderful memories - it is a stunning venue. The gardens, the building, the rooms, the woodlands are all beautiful.

Ashleigh was so very lovely and super organised on the run up to the wedding - nothing was too much and no questions went unanswered. It meant that we were stress free and were therefore able to enjoy every single moment. A stress-free bride is very hard to achieve - so amazing work!

From our arrival at Saltmarshe on the Thursday afternoon to our departure on the Saturday morning every single member of the Saltmarshe team we encountered were friendly, attentive and well presented! No ask was too much! Many of our guests commented on how wonderful they all were.

Ashleigh and Kates efforts on our wedding day were exceptional, particularly on the wedding morning. Their kindness and reassurance that everything was taken care of put us all at complete ease and let us enjoy every moment without worry. They made it run like clockwork - it flowed perfectly! A very tall task with a large wedding party and a lot of guests.

The transition from day to evening was seamless - turning a beautiful day into the most amazing celebration!

The food was fantastic. The chef and the staff did an amazing job providing such a high standard and catering to the many dietary requirements. They made sure a whole lot of guests were happy with full tummys all day!

You've looked after us every step of the way from the first time we set foot through the door Jan'22 (how is it so long ago?). And on the rare occasion you weren't available, any other member of staff were so extremely helpful.

During meetings to plan our day you already had the answers to the questions we'd jotted down before we even had a chance to ask them - it's at this point not only did we know that the venue with it's amazing rooms, grounds and changes that we're coming such as the gorgeous new bar was exactly where we wanted our special day to be, but that we also had that special person to help look after our day and the confidence of knowing we wouldn't have anything to worry about.

The special day arrives and you are on it with calmness personified. The day was smooth and seamless thanks to you and your team.

We (and our guests who also commented on this with the same words) will never forget that 15 minutes of madness during speeches when the heavens opened and you shifted into 5th gear to ensure 85 people were kept dry....and you got absolutely drenched and kept everything on track.

But the biggest compliment I think we can give you is that you made us feel like the first and last wedding you'd have. Like we were all that mattered even though you probably have 2 or 3 + per week.

Thank you for making our special day your special day (Thank you also to your staff). It was the most amazing 36 hours of our lives and we just want to do it all over again. It feels surreal to know we won't be chatting to plan our big day with you any longer but anyone else is lucky to be in that position knowing they have you to look after them and hopefully we can pop by in the near future to see you and say hello.

From the first moment we walked into Saltmarshe Hall we knew it was our venue. Even with the Morning room having improvements and a change of bar, we knew it was going to look amazing. The venue has such an amazing atmosphere. The whole team made us feel super special from the very first moment we stepped inside to the moment we left as husband and wife.

Our original meetings were with Ashleigh who had so much enthusiasm and ideas for our day which helped the day go perfectly. We loved going over to the venue for meetings and to see how the building improvement were getting on. It wasn’t until our final meeting that we met Amy who was amazing. She felt like a friend we had known for ages adding suggestions to improve our day. No ask was too big or too small. We knew we were in good hands and the stress was completely taken away.

Ashleigh, Amy and the team made our day so special. We cannot thank you enough for all your hard work. The whole day was perfect from start to finish. We don’t think anything we could write down in words could do this place and the staff the justice they deserve.

The food was amazing and our guests made so many compliments. The running of the day like clockwork everything was perfect. If it wasn’t I didn’t see it anyway ! We were so luckily with the sun and having our drinks reception in the beautiful grounds was amazing.

We feel so lucky to have found this place and the team who will hold a special place in our hearts forever. No amount of thank you’s could ever be enough.

Literally the best day ever!

We had planned our wedding at Saltmarshe Hall for around 18 months and leading up to the big day, I did start to over think everything! Amy and Ashleigh were amazing in calming me down and reassuring us all would be fine. We attended the tasting session 6 months before and that’s when we first met Chloe, who was super impressive. Fast forward to the day, and from Ashleigh bringing me constant picture updates of the ceremony room as the visuals developed, to Amy checking on the timings and structure of the day, to Chloe, later on, commanding the evening celebrations .. ladies…no words can describe. Your professionalism and personality shone through to make sure we had the best day ever!
