Sewerby Hall and Gardens is a countryside wedding venue situated in Sewerby, East Riding of Yorkshire. This historical estate features a magnificent nineteenth-century Orangery that overlooks spectacular landscaped gardens. The original Georgian house was constructed in the 1700s, with additional extensions added over the centuries. Here, amidst 52 acres of picturesque grounds and a Grade I listed building, you can curate your dream day with the help of a dedicated team.

Facilities and Capacity

In 2014, Sewerby Hall was restored to Edwardian glory circa 1910 and features stunning antiques and decor from the Victoria and Albert Museum. Wedding ceremonies take place in the airy glass conservatory, which opens onto manicured lawns and lush gardens. The Orangery is decorated to match each couple's tastes and theme with additional florals and chair covers provided. This airy botanical space has a capacity of 120 guests and is licensed for civil ceremonies. Afterwards, while you explore the grounds for photo ops with your love, guests can enjoy a drinks reception in front of the main house. During this time, The Orangery is transformed for your evening reception, with floorplans laid out to match your event style and theme. Loved ones can even take a trip on the decorated Land Train to the north promenade and cliff top during their time at Sewerby Hall.

Services Offered

The dedicated team at Sewerby Hall offers a range of services to make to-be-weds planning experience seamless and efficient. From organising a pianist to play at your ceremony to arranging reception decor, there is nothing the hospitality team won't do to make your vision a reality! You can host a relaxed buffet reception or a Vintage Afternoon Tea for 70 guests following your nuptials. Other catering options include a cold seated buffet, for couples seeking a more formal dining experience. The esteemed staff serves a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to suit all tastes and age groups. The in-house wedding coordinator would be delighted to connect with you and begin curating your special day.

The most perfect venue for a wedding

We were married in The Orangery on 14 June 2008. The whole experience from booking the date in Nov'06 to the Day was so well managed by Graham and Margaret and the team. Nothing was too much trouble and every request was catered for. The venue is stunning, the grounds are amazing and have produced some fabulous photos. The Orangery creates such a romantic atmosphere and all of our guests were delighted with everything. We booked the land train to get all of our guests to the venue on time and back again - they all loved it. We had the most perfect day thanks to all at Sewerby Hall. Five star service - thank you

Picture Perfect

We are both originally from Yorkshire however currently we are living in Dubai and wanted to head back to our roots for our special day.
We researched into other locations however immediately loved the Orangery Room and cliff drop views along the coast from the gardens.
Graeme and Margaret were truly the best hosts you could ever want to organise your special day as their attention to details were exceptional from when we first said hallo to "I do !!"
The relaxed atmosphere at Sewerby whether in the Hall or the Beautiful gardens made the day for us both. We really appreciated the service provided by all the staff at Sewerby Hall as your always guaranteed a smile and a warm welcome anytime you visit.

Beautiful venue and wonderful people

I strongly recommend Sewerby Hall & Gardens as a wedding venue. My partner and I both live in Essex but have family in East Yorkshire that would have found it hard to travel, and so we chose to have our civil ceremony at Sewerby in May this year. I was very worried about planning my wedding so far away from the venue but the Staff at Sewerby were amazing. They really went out of their way to put into effect the wedding of my dreams. Planning a wedding is very stressful & it is always good to have people that listen to you and ensure everything runs smoothly. They never made me fell like I was a nuisance & always set aside time to discuss with me the running order for the events of the day, without me having to remind them. The gardens are a credit to the venue. The backdrop of the sea from the cliff top teamed with the colourful flowers just enhanced in my photo''s what was an unforgettable day. Very much a thoughtful & reliable service.

Fantastic wedding at a fantastic venue

I had my wedding & photographs at Sewerby Hall in September 2005. We could not fault the organisation and the venue is stunning. It''s easy to see why the beautiful gardens have won so many awards. Being situated on the cliff-top, the view over Bridlington Bay is breathtaking. My wedding day went perfectly thanks to Graham, Gerald, Margaret and the rest of the Sewerby Staff.
