Shaw Hill Golf Resort & Spa Hotel is a wedding venue situated in Whittle Le Woods, in the heart of the Lancashire countryside. This gorgeous Georgian mansion is perched on 192-acres of woodland. It is a quaint venue that is ideal for couples seeking to escape the hustle of the big city and say "I do" in a splendid English countryside setting.
Facilities and Capacity
This hotel has three stunning event spaces to celebrate your ceremony and reception. The Gold Room is a charming space great for smaller, more private ceremonies. Complete with a chandelier, Georgian-style decor, and views of the golf course, this area can host up to 60 seated guests. The Brand New Allamby's Restaurant makes for memorable wedding ceremonies for up to 90 people. The elegant room benefits from elegant bay windows that provide a panoramic view of the golf course. The Penina Suite is the largest of all three event spaces. It can be arranged in several ways and fit up to 200 guests while still having space for a dance floor and live entertainment. The suite can also be divided into separate rooms, for smaller gatherings. Upon request, couples may exchange vows and happily wed on the property’s grounds and golf course during the summer months. Further facilities include accommodations, a 72-par golf course, and a state-of-the-art spa with various relaxing treatments.
Accommodation
Shaw Hill offers a plethora of glamorous en-suite rooms with 24-hour room service for further convenience. There are 30 guest rooms over three floors that include modern amenities while highlighting the building’s Georgian past. The Deluxe Rooms are the largest suites and is ideal for newlywed couples. Featuring comfortable bedding, a chandelier, and views of the golf course, these rooms kickstart any marriage on the right foot.

The most perfect, personalised and wedding
The most perfect wedding venue!
Hannah, our wedding coordinator, Alec, our master of ceremonies and all the team at Shawhill were absolutely incredible throughout the planning process and on the big day itself.
It was the wedding of our dreams and we had the best day of our lives.
All of our guests loved the venue which has produced some stunning backdrops for our photos; unreal, delicious food ;and top quality service from staff. From the level of care and support early on in the planning process after we were let down by our last venue, we couldn’t fault Hannah, Alec and the team. Every little detail was how we imagined and staff went above and beyond for all our guests to enjoy the day (especially accommodating our grandparents).
We can’t recommend you all enough!
If you are looking for a wedding venue that are personal, easy to communicate with and truely care about you (and we can vouch that not all venues truely do care), then you won’t find a better local venue than Shawhill!
We will definitely be back to share the memories and enjoy you food in the near future!

10/10 Would get married again!
From the very start of mine and my wife's wedding planning journey, the team at Shaw Hill have been amazing. Hannah has been an absolute star in professionally supporting our vision of our big day.
Over the course of 18 months of planning, she got to know us and what we wanted our day to feel like. Providing expert advise and support throughout the planning process. Not once did we ever feel there was too stupid a question or too many for Hannah and the team to answer.
Then came the big day, and alongside Hannah, our master of ceremonies, Alec also played a huge role. Together, they both made sure we did not want for anything on our big day. Whilst it took some getting used to being the "stars of the show" and having our questions and requests answered to within seconds, it was amazing to know that Alec and Hannah would make sure that nothing went wrong and we had everything we needed.
We truly cannot thank them, and the wider team, enough for everything they did for our special day. I would highly recommend getting married at Shaw Hill. It was an amazing day for obvious reasons, but from a venue point of view, Alec and Hannah made it that much more special.

12.10.24 - Wedding
We had our wedding day at Shaw Hill on Saturday and it was amazing from start to finish. The whole wedding team and everyone else were on hand for anything we needed. This also goes for Hannah who never failed to answer any questions, however small, in the lead up to the wedding.
Hannah and Alec, what can I say! They genuinely really care about making your day special and went above and beyond all day (and night). Even down to the finer details of dealing with a very nervous, then giddy bride!
The food was amazing, we had so many people comment on the day and since. I think about 90% of our entertainment was recommend to us by Hannah and it was all amazing. Shaw Hill work with some great suppliers as part of their packages; the venue was dressed beautifully and our table seating plan was perfect.
If you are still at the venue selection stage of planning and are looking for somewhere magical for your special day, I can not recommend Shaw Hill enough.

Our wonderful wedding
Throughout the whole process from booking the wedding, through to the day after the wedding, the hotel and staff have been amazing. So flexible and catering to our every need. I could not think of a more well organised, professional and beautiful place to get married. Hannah and the team are fantastic and will change things to suit you (even at the very last minute) without an issue. All I can say is we will have the best possible memories of our special day thanks to all the staff at Shaw Hill Golf and Spa Hotel xxxx

Words are not enough...
Where do I start? Hannah has been amazing. Nothing was too big of a job for her. She helped out with ALOT of questions. Even with the numbers changing last minute!!
The day itself was brilliant and everything we asked for was met. Special shout out to Stu and Alec who practically waited on us hand and foot! All of the staff were aware of a surprise (box of trainers) I had for Hannah (my now wife!) and kept it a secret and then help me give it to her.

Perfect day!
Our experience with Shaw Hill from the very start to the wedding day itself and even after was fantastic! Communication was great and they were able to accommodate everything we asked for. Hannah was brilliant helping us to plan our special day. On the day, the service was phenomenal and the whole day was absolutely perfect thanks to Hannah and Alec. They checked in on us often to make sure we had the best day possible, there were no issues of flaws anywhere! Can’t recommend Shaw Hill and their fantastic wedding team enough!

Our Perfect Wedding at Shaw Hill
We got married at Shaw Hill on the 6th May 2023.
Hannah (wedding coordinator) was absolutely amazing from the start of the process, she made it so easy and stress free! On the day Hannah was amazing, there for everyone and was on hand throughout the day! Her support was unreal!!
We chose the platinum package so all of our extras for the day (centrepieces, chair covers, lighting, fairy light etc) was all included with Sophisticated Events - who were also brilliant!
The day before the wedding we spoke with Alek - master of ceremonies, who was so lovely and reassuring. This continued into the day when he came to check on me and the bridal party in the suite and throughout the day made it run so seamlessly! So thank you Alek for doing such a brilliant job 👏
The staff at Shaw Hill as a whole are brilliant, know their roles and work brilliantly together - again were on hand if we needed anything at all!
Overall, our whole wedding experience was amazing at Shaw Hill and we couldn't recommend the venue enough! A special thankyou to Hannah and Alek who were just a pleasure! X

No better venue for a wedding!
Our daughter and her husband had their wedding reception here on Friday. To say it went perfectly is an understatement! There are not enough words to describe how fantastic it was. Nina was just incredible to have as a wedding planner and from start to finish nothing was too much trouble. We had everything we wanted and more beside. Lauren and Tony were on hand afternoon and evening to help with anything we needed. The food was served quickly and seamlessly with nobody waiting whilst others ate. There were many comments about how impressed guests were by the standard of food and service. In the evening Guy, the resident DJ was lovely, very accommodating and created a fantastic family party atmosphere.
The setting is just glorious and with the lovely weather we were blessed it was stunningly beautiful. Very happy with how all our wedding stuff was tidied away by staff and stored away ready for us to collect the following morning and even then we were not rushed out. We all enjoyed a family breakfast together after a very comfortable night and waved the bride and groom off on their honeymoon in a relaxed manner even though the staff were now extremely busy preparing for another bigger wedding that day.
We truly grateful to them all for making the wedding day as amazing as it possibly could be. Thank you so much to everyone involved."

The whole package and experience was excellent in every way possible
We had the pleasure of holding our wedding at Shaw Hill on the 22nd July 2021. I appreciate that everyone says their wedding was magical but ours truly was . The reason for that was down to the friendliness , professionalism and expertise of the whole staff team and of course Nina . All of our guests where taken care of throughout the whole day and were amazed at the level of care and attention shown , numerous comments like - ‘’ this is the best wedding we have ever been to’’- all completely genuine , the venue was dressed to perfection, the backdrop utterly beautiful, the food was absolutely delicious and the staff available to us on the day went out of their way, nothing was too much trouble. Given this was 2 days after ‘freedom day’ post covid snd the hottest day of the year , it could have gone very wrong . It didn’t !!! I have to be honest , we have been to many many weddings where you try and overlook the things that could have gone a little better. This is not the case when you have your wedding at Shawhill . It really is first class every step of the way and very reasonably priced . I really cannot thank the staff team at Shaw Hill enough and will recommend to everyone I know.

Dream wedding venue & more!
Shaw Hill is now our new family wedding venue! From start to finish, Nina, our wedding planner was so kind and helpful especially during Covid and trying to sort things out last minute. She was very accommodating to our religious and cultural needs which made our experience even more perfect! The venue is so idyllic and is a great space for family and photographers. I would do it all over again with no regret or changes! The catering staff, kitchen facilities, accommodation rooms and everything else ran so smoothly I had no stresses as the bride and I am extremely grateful for everyone involved for making the process so easy. I would highly recommend Shaw Hill as your wedding venue :)

Nina and the team are an efficient team in supporting the planning and organisation of weddings. We didnt need to worry about anything. We were planning our wedding during the COVID-19 pandemic and felt at ease with the support provided.

9th July wedding
We got married at Shaw hill on 9th July 2021. We originally booked Shaw hill in 2018 for 2020. Due ot the pandemic we had to postpone 3 times. Nina and her team were nothing but helpful understanding and flexible. They made the stress of rearranging an entire wedding easier. They were able to work with us on the current restrictions and ensure we had a perfect day.
The food is amazing and full recommendations for you to try could not fault. When our day finally came around Nina and her team ensured the day ran smoothly everything was in place and if there were any issues ( we had a nightmare with our cake ) they handled it without worrying us in our big day.
The room was decorated amazingly and it was truly a perfect day. All of our guests commented on how well the day was run and how nice to spend time with people considering the pandemic.
We also booked external entertainment. Who Shaw hill liased with well for set and take down to allow the day to run smoothly
1000% recommend lovely hotel and amazing wedding staff team who are very helpful and creative to make your day truly amazing

We had our wedding here at Shaw Hill in December and it was a fantastic experience and a brilliant day! Thank you!
Nina was always fast at getting back to us on anything we needed with the lead up and planning of our wedding and she was always happy to help. All staff at Shaw Hill where all friendly and helpful. Amazing and Beautiful Day
After having our Wedding Day cancelled twice due to Covid , we eventually had our Beautiful Day happen. Nina and her Colleagues were Amazing and went above and beyond to make our day so special , can't thank them enough. Shaw Hill is a Stunning venue with amazing views of the golf course , we loved every minute of our day , didn't want it to end. Highly recommended Shaw Hill Golf Resort and Spa Hotel.
