Located in the heart of our organic farm between Bury St Edmunds and Sudbury in Suffolk, Shimpling Park Barns is a unique and magical spot. With two converted victorian barns, the Tall Barn and The Lantern Barn, both leading out onto two southfacing courtyards (one grass, one stone) and an additional enclosed garden, this venue has huge amounts of space for you to arrange as YOU want. (Games? outside drinks? outside dinner or ceremony? ) Because there is so much versitle space, you will be able to plan a pond side ceremony with use of the beautiful countryside woods and trees and photos, but should the English weather require it, you always have a back up of a beautiful inside alternative at a moments notice.

With the historic villages of Lavenham and Long Melford just a stone’s throw away, this is the perfect venue for a weekend wedding in the countryside.

Facilities and Capacity

Shimpling Park Barns is suitable for smaller celebrations as well as larger ones. With a formal "breakfast" seating for up to 90, there is plenty of space for up to 150 guests if you want more in the evening or want more casual fayre. Couples are offered exclusivity for the duration of their set up and their wedding day, ensuring they can enjoy the preparations. Begin your day in an elegant get-ready suite equipped with everything you need for relaxing and pampering, including a hair and makeup bar. Their stunning barns offer a blend of rustic and contemporary aesthetics, allowing versatility with your theme and colour palette. Your wedding photos will look timeless with its exposed red brick, large windows, and soaring arched ceiling as a backdrop. You are welcome to use the pond side for your ceremony and photographs.

Shimpling Park Barns are heated with renewable woodchip produced on the farm. The farming business is carbon negative (ie sequesters more carbon than it emits ) so you can rest assured that your celebration is environmentally kind. It also means that whilst this is a "barn" wedding, both barns are underfloor heating and can make for toasty winter weddings.

Services Offered

Shimpling Park Barns is available for hire throughout the year. We will share our list of trusted and wonderful caterers with you and you will be free to book them direct. We charge no commission, nor any corkage and will help where we can. There are no hidden charges. And yes, we love pets (as long as they are on wedding behaviour!)
