Shotton Grange met all of our expectations and more! From the minute we booked I felt at ease with the planning process as Emma was so on hand with everything. Nothing was ever to much trouble and she was always there to answer any questions no matter how silly they were! On the day itself it was a lovely touch that Emma was there to say hello as I made my way to the aisle. All staff were absolutely amazing, everything flowed perfectly and that’s all down to their hard work on the day. We are so appreciative of everyone’s efforts the staff are amazing. Aswell as the staff Shotton Grange is stunning, the grounds are beautiful and it’s the perfect sized venue. We are so glad we picked this venue for our special day. It was absolutely beautiful!

Getting married at Shotton Grange was easily one of the best wedding planning decisions we made. From discovering this hidden gem when diving into the depths of Google Maps for North East wedding venues, we instantly knew this venue was the one for us. It had everything we hoped for and more - from the exclusivity of the venue, to its beautiful gardens and decor, all the natural light and even the duck breast main! The venue ticked every box, added extra boxes, and then ticked those.

Emma, our Wedding Coordinator, was fantastic from start to finish. We had MANY questions and she was there for them all. Communication was out of this world throughout - 99% of all emails were responded to within 24 hours. Whenever Emma wasn’t available (which seemed very rarely the case!), another member of the team would swiftly pick up our emails. If you want to be fully in control of your day with everyone kept in the loop, Shotton Grange (or their sister venues), is the venue you need.

Rachel, our Master of Ceremonies, and all the on-the-day team were amazing. The whole day ran so smoothly and we were able to just spend the day as Bride and Groom. The day flowed beautifully from one stage to the next, and everything was as we'd envisioned in the planning.

From our private venue tour right up until the day after our wedding, Shotton Grange has been a delight. The initial, halfway and final meetings that took place were very helpful to us - we never felt rushed in the meetings or to make any decisions on the wedding, they helped us to generate ideas on what we wanted from the day, and on top of that, we were able to spend more time with our lovely venue in the lead up. The menu tasting night and supplier open days were also great, and we even visited the venue for our Valentine’s Day meal which was fantastic.

We hope to visit again in the future, whether that be for one of their events, another wedding, or to host another event of our own.

Shotton were the most spectacular hosts. They went out of their way to make us feel like the most special people on our big day. They carefully ensured that every plan we had was meticulously followed, and everything went to plan, and then some! The best day our lives hosted by the best team.

Shotton Grange made our whole wedding experience very easy, uncomplicated and very special!
Right from when we first booked Shotton Grange, the process felt seamless and very personal to us. One of the reasons we chose Shotton Grange in the first place was because they appreciated that every couple is different, and that they would help us achieve what we wanted specifically. Throughout the whole process Emma was wonderful, easy to contact and replied quickly and in a helpful and friendly manner. No question was a stupid question and she made us feel at ease - as for a lot of it we were clueless! Rachel, our wedding coordinator on the day- was absolutely amazing. Despite it pouring the hole day of the wedding, I didn't even realise because Rachel had changed everything to fit with the weather accordingly. She asked our opinion on things throughout the day in a non-pushy or obtrusive manner. More importantly she made us both feel very special, and not like we were the hosts. I didn't feel stressed once during the day.
All our guests commented to say what a wonderful wedding it was, and we also received many compliments on the food.
I can't thank Shotton Grange enough for making our day so magical.

After my husband and I got married in our village church we headed over to Shotton Grange for our wedding reception. It was the most lovely day! We had around 50 day guests and a few extra evening guests.

Having private access to the whole venue was perfect and was one of the major advantages and reasons we chose Shotton Grange - it meant that everyone on-site was there for only our wedding and it allowed us to avoid random strangers and/or guests from other weddings accidentally gatecrashing.
We also liked that there was a good menu selection for both the wedding breakfast meal and also the evening food. We enjoyed attending the menu food tasting evening, during the planning process, and we liked the fact we got to pick 3 options per course from the menu so we could then offer a choice for our guests.

The grounds were very pretty. Initially we were a little concerned about the road noise from the motorway as it was quite loud when we visited for an open day but on the actual wedding day we didn’t really think about it and once the evening music started it masked it anyways.

Having the extra side rooms like the Snug, the Lounge and Drawing room in the Manor House, in addition to the Coach House, was very useful! The layout of the venue allowed us to set up various evening entertainment like a casino table and photobooth in the Manor House whilst the live music and DJ were in the Coach House!

The venue has decent sized bathrooms - particularly useful when the bride has a large skirt and needs hers bridesmaids’ assistance haha.

There is a reasonably sized, private (and free) car park on-site which was very useful for our wedding guests.

Shotton Grange has several bedrooms and this allowed the option for our guests to book onsite accommodation if they wished to do so. My bridesmaids and a few other wedding guests stayed onsite the night of the wedding and enjoyed breakfast the morning after.

We appreciated that Shotton offers optional add-ons and extras. We decided to have a few canapés during the drinks receptions - they were tasty and did the trick to tide us and our guests over before the wedding breakfast.

As someone who doesn’t really drink alcohol and we had a few of guests who don’t drink alcohol, Shotton has a good range of non-alcohol alternatives, which I particularly was impressed with.

The venue has a good drinks menu and has 2 bars which was good for guests getting served. Whilst the venue does not offer corkage, there were various drinks packages available- we opted for one of these and our guests really enjoyed the extra beer and Prosecco! We also added on a cheese and meat board, patio heaters, fire pit tables and fire pit - which were great during the evening reception!

The events team were very friendly, professional and brilliant to work with throughout the planning process and on the day of. They answered all our questions and were quick with their email response times! They were very accommodating when trying to arrange our meeting dates as well as allowed us to set up and decorate the Coach House the day before the wedding (since there were no other events scheduled for that day). In addition, the contract and planning documents that we were sent, which were discussed in the meetings, were very thorough and helpful during the planning process.

Amongst our wedding guests, there were several allergies/dietary restrictions. The events team and kitchen took these seriously and handled, managed and communicated these well with us.

We also appreciated that in the brochure everything was itemised, prices were all clear and upfront and there were no hidden costs.

Overall, we are very pleased we chose Shotton Grange for our wedding reception venue!

We held our wedding reception at Shotton Grange in April and had the most perfect day. Communication was excellent, the staff were so responsive to emails and the whole process was seamless from day one. Nothing was too much trouble and the advice we received was so helpful in planning our day. A big thank you to Emma who guided us through the process and was so lovely. The day itself was so special, and we must mention Roseann who greeted us from our ceremony and was wonderful throughout the day making sure everything went perfectly. All of the staff were excellent, and so friendly - they make the venue even more special. Our food was delicious, and our guests with food allergies were catered for brilliantly. The grounds are stunning and the house itself is beautiful, our guests loved being able to stay overnight and enjoy breakfast the next day.

We are so pleased we picked Shotton Grange and can’t recommend the venue enough. Thank you so much!

Where do I start?
This time 4 weeks ago, we were dancing the night away with our nearest and dearest, living our best lives in literally the best wedding venue EVER! (I even still get emotional that it is all over, and I am very jealous of others that have this venue planned!)
From planning our wedding for 2 years with Emma and then all of sudden it stops, I literally feel like I have lost my right arm. Emma, was unbelievable to say the least. The most approachable, friendly, caring, kind, yet professional individual that helped me above and beyond what I ever thought I needed. No matter how many emails I sent asking the most random question whilst it was in my brain early hours of the morning, it would be responded to the next day! I literally could not have planned this without her, she's a credit to Shotton Grange!!
We couldnt thank Maz also, our master of ceremonies, who was a diamond! She made sure our day was everything we wanted at more, nothing was too big or small, and made our day flow effortlessly. She had a smile across her face the full day and was so happy to help us.
All staff we spoke to leading up to the wedding and on the day, were all lovely, friendly professionals who knew this venue inside and out, all with smiles on their faces no matter when you saw them, whether it be checking into the venue the morning of the wedding or at 12am when guests were leaving.
Shotton Grange was the only venue we looked at and immediately we cancelled the other venues we had planned to view. As soon as we walked into the coach house the 'feel' of the room was amazing. It was the most picturesque, stunning yet comforting room, and we knew there and then this was where our wedding was meant to be.
The walled gardens and outside of the house were immaculate, clean and tidy, So many photo opportunties!
The rooms were well presented, clean and overall beautiful. The bridal suite was perfect for the morning of the wedding too, brilliant size and so relaxing and calm.
The food we had was gorgeous, we decided on the hog roast, canapes and pizzas and all of our guests agreed they were all delicious, some guest shad 3 pizzas each!!

We would recommend this venue to anyone who wants a wedding with a picturesque venue, unbelievable staff and literally a day to remember. You will not be disappointed!

Shotton Grange is the most beautiful, perfect, private and rustic wedding venue, and anybody would be lucky to get married there! We certainly feel very lucky that we chose this wonderful venue.

We had the most wonderful wedding day! It was literally perfect from start to finish, and there's not a single thing we would change about it. All of the team at Shotton are just wonderful. They couldn't do enough for us, from us booking our wedding in 2021 to the wedding day itself - nothing was too much trouble. This made everything run so seamlessly on the day. We are incredibly grateful for this.

That original show around with Emma in 2021 feels like such a distant memory now. We are delighted that we chose to get married at Shotton and would recommend it so highly to everybody.

We also received a beautiful card in our wedding postbox on the day from the Shotton team. It's stunning and was so very kind of them and a lovely touch!

We got married at Shotton Grange in January 2024. From the go the whole team were absolutely amazing in every way. Nothing was a bother in the run up, everything was explained in great detail and our meetings scheduled way in advance. They were incredibly responsive via e-mail and phone whenever we had any questions or changes we wished to make.

On the day before the team were on hand to help with anything we needed and ensured us and our guests had a comfortable nights stay in anticipation of the big day.

The day itself ran so smoothly and seamlessly. We had quite a few allergies and intolerances amongst our guests and the kitchen could not have been more accommodating. The canapes, wedding breakfast and evening food were all delicious and so well presented. All of the team working on the day were fantastic and so helpful.

Stunning venue, amazing staff. We had the most amazing day and will remember it forever!

We got married at Shotton Grange on 04/11/2023. The day was perfect - it was everything we wanted and more. The venue - rooms and grounds are beautiful and give plenty opportunity for photos. The food was outstanding - guests are still commenting on it now. Emma was our main contact at the venue and did most of our meetings - she is fantastic, helpful, friendly and nothing is ever a bother, she even popped to see us on the wedding day which was a lovely touch. Rachel was our master of ceremonies during the day and she was brilliant. We honestly cannot thank and recommended this venue enough.

We got married at shotton grand two weeks ago and it was everything I could have hoped for and more. Emma’s service, responsiveness and friendliness from our very first enquiry to popping in to see us on the day was perfect, we could not have asked for more. The amount of emails I sent asking for various things I thought they’d be sick of me by I always got a swift and friendly response! Our on the day MC Max was fab and kept us all on track saving us from worrying about timings and just allowing us so have the best time. The Venue and its grounds are stunning, the food is gorgeous and the memories we now have are brilliant. Thank you so much for giving us the best day we could have imagined for. Even with classic windy and rainy British weather there are so many beautiful spots to get photos. Our friends and family are still absolutely buzzing off it, and so are we obviously!!

We had the most perfect experience for our September wedding. The team did everything possible to accommodate any requests we had, the venue is stunning, and the staff are amazing. We had most of our meetings with Emma, nothing was ever too much trouble and she even stopped by on our big day despite having meetings, to see us both. We cannot praise her, or Alison, our master of ceremonies enough. The whole day ran perfectly, with no hiccups, and we had so many guests comment on how perfect the venue, food and service had been. We could not have been happier with our choice of shotton grange. I just hope we get to go to more weddings there as a guest, so we get to experience this amazing venue again. Shotton Grange were excellent to work with from start to finish. They responded to emails really quickly and the meetings we had with them in the run up to the day were very helpful. All of the staff were extremely helpful and made sure that everything went to plan on the day.

From our first viewing with Emma, we felt looked after and could truly imagine our entire day there. Everything from the location to the food was everything that we could have dreamed of, and our many meetings leading up to the day covered all of the finer details that we wouldn't have even though of ourselves.
One of the most attractive things about Shotton for us was the potential for so many unique photos. From the festoon lighting over the entrance, to the new water fountain, you wont be short of places to get some greast snaps!
Plus with it being exclusive use, it made the whole day so much more relaxing, knowing that the only guests arriving will be for you.

We had the most amazing wedding day at Shotton Grange and cannot thank all of the staff involved enough for everything they did to make it magical both in the planning stages and on the day itself! Alison, our master of ceremonies, went above and beyond to make the day run so smoothly; she really is an absolute star!
