Heron’s Farm is AMAZING! The perfect venue! From the moment we walked in on our first viewing we were treated like family!
They couldn’t have done more to help!

The venue is a stunning farm, with a beautiful barn, courtyard area, walled garden and pavilion! You can choose any place to hold your ceremony, ourselves choosing the walled garden for our ceremony which was stunning.
The venue (Nicky and Maggie especially) literally said to us ‘tell us what you want and we shall make it happen’ and that was basically it! Other venues we looked at were very stuck on their packages and even refused to swap a Prosecco for a kir royal (that we offered to pay more for) as ‘that’s not in our package’!
Nicky went above and beyond with organising all the elements of our day, and always answered all question quickly and always helped keep costs down.

Maggie who mainly runs all the accommodation was also amazing! She was very attentive to any questions and needs of guests, plus makes a mean full English breakfast the next morning! All rooms were throughly cleaned, inspected, with tea and coffee stations in each!
The food was just delicious, the meat was beautifully cooked, great portion sizes, hot when served and not one person had anything bad to say!! The drinks were top quality, including the wines on the table, the toasts and welcome drinks. Actually tasted alcoholic unlike some watered down drinks.
The venue also has a very well stocked bar for guests to use throughout the evening!

Nicky helped our day run really smoothly, and greeted my new husband and I straight after the ceremony with a drink to calm our nerves. So attentive to anything we needed and checking in on us to ensure we were happy and we have everything we needed.
Everyone working at the venue made us feel like family, and absolutely no bother, anything we asked for was sorted, put into action and done before we could even say thank you!
Even small stuff like when the barn was flipped for the evening, Nicky and team went to great lengths to decorate and re-disperse to make the venue look stunning. We didn’t ask for this, but they care about your wedding and want the best for you!

Please just book to go and visit this venue, because as soon as you do you will fall in love with it like we did! Already been invited back for a picnic and drink with the team which we shall be doing soon!

We recently held our wedding at Herons Farm and couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. From the first enquiry via RS Catering, through to regular emails and calls with Linda about accommodation, the team were extremely helpful and made organising our wedding as stress-free as it could possibly be.

Everyone in the family/ wedding party stayed on site at Herons Farm and all were complimentary about the cottages. Breakfast the morning after the wedding with all our nearest and dearest was fabulous!

From our first meeting with Richie, RS Catering and follow up chat/ meeting with Charlotte, we knew we were in capable hands and our drooling over the food suggested to us, wasn't unfounded as many complimented the food on the day (including my new mother-in-law saying it was the best lamb she'd ever had!). They also managed with various dietary requirements with such ease.

Linda helped me to arrange all things accommodation and Maggie was fantastic on the day of the wedding and morning after.

If you want a run of the mill, conveyor belt wedding, go to a package deal from a bog standard hotel. But if you want to tailor your wedding to your wants and needs, and within a decent budget, then Herons Farm can definitely help you!

"We'd spoken to a few other caterers about our wedding Farmer's Market idea but no-one really seemed very creative or interested in developing the concept; that is until we spoke to Richie Sanderson. Richie took all the thoughts on-board and then grew the concept with us to another level to create EXACTLY what we had in mind. The paella on a 5 foot pan looked fabulous, the presentation of the soup station and all the Mediterranean delicacies of olives, breads, kofta, hummus, grilled vegetables etc etc looked incredible and tasted even better. Richie was a true sport and a delight to work with - dealing with the chef makes such a difference and we had full confidence in him and his team delivering on the day - which they did with bells and whistles!

It's really great to hear from you - it's odd not having our daily conversations where I panic about what I was suppose to do and what I've forgotten...
I think you're very deserving of a extremely positive testimonial given the efforts that you put in and quality of food and service you managed to deliver... I think without exception everyone we have spoken to following the wedding was in awe of your achievements. It seems a ridiculous claim, but everyone was unanimous in agreeing that this was the best food they have ever experienced at a wedding. it's the first thing they talk about!

But I think the quality of the food and execution is only half the story. From our perspective the most pleasing thing was your genuine willingness to listen and accommodate our whims. Your bespoke service enabled us to impart our personality on the day and in the weeks before the wedding you made yourself available at every possible opportunity and invested significantly more time than I would have expected.

I don't think we could have asked for anything more from the day and everything you or your team (Charlotte, Liam, Terrance, James et. al) had input into was a massive success... from the choice of food to the bar, to the cake, to the table decorations, to the venue etc etc. We had fairly high expectations but on each occasion you exceeded these.

On reflection it's difficult to put into words exactly how grateful we are because it sounds a bit naff but you have an amazing team and offer a fantastic service. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to friends and family and I think you are deserving of every success in the future.

We had a fabulous wedding at Heron's Barn, Richie & his team couldn't do enough to help us out both on the day itself and in the lead up to it. From sourcing glasswear to showing our photographer round, nothing was too much trouble. The barn is rustic and beautiful and can be decorated to suit your colour scheme. Both ourselves and some of our guests stayed the night before and the wedding night and the cottages are lovely, full of character and allowed us not to worry about travel on the big day. The food was superb, not a crumb was left over and many of our friends have commented that it was the best wedding food they have ever eaten. We would not hesitate to recommend Richie and his team for your big day, our only regret is that it's now all over and we want to do it again!
