Unique in many ways, The Barn is a centuries-old wedding venue beautifully reconstructed in the heart of Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Intended for deeply personal events, this barn effortlessly reflects the traditional Kentish style. Its oak beams and columns come together in a sweet harmony that creates a truly distinctive atmosphere. Delightful in every imaginable way, the team is pleased to extend the sole and exclusive use of this historic setting with absolutely no hire charges and ample room to make it your own.
Facilities and Capacity
The Barn is licensed for civil ceremonies, which can be held with great flourish in the new Orangery. Overlooking the award-winning courtyard-inspired gardens, this chic country space is a perfect blend of rustic style and easy elegance. During the summer months, the windows can be opened while the scents and sunlight drift inside.
For the wedding breakfast, 70 guests can dine and regale in the characterful restaurant, soaking in its charm as they muse over each course menu. After the meal has come to a close, the venue opens up to accommodate up to 150 evening guests who can indulge in drinks and dancing. As dusk envelops this enchanting setting, you and yours can revel in the romance as the venue and gardens ignite in a crescendo of twinkling lights.

Amazing day
The most beautiful wedding venue with incredible staff
A Wonderful Wedding Venue
The location of The Barn is really accessible being in the centre of town, with plenty of places for guests to stay nearby, yet it feels very private as it is set away from the main road down a private street with no passing traffic. It is a gorgeous venue, really intimate but with plenty of space for our 70 guests, and the team had done an excellent job of setting up and laying out our table decorations beautifully; it was a wonderful space for us to connect with our guests.
All the staff were professional, friendly and helpful throughout the event; many of our guests commented on how lovely they were, along with how fantastic the venue was.
The food was delicious, guests choose from 4 meals on each course, and every one of them looked amazing, we’ve heard many compliments of every option. Service throughout the meal was excellent, a good level of attentive, efficient and unobtrusive, they served a large room at a good pace.
The whole running of the day was done smoothly, changing areas worked really well, we hardly noticed the hard work going on downstairs while we had our meal.
We can’t thank the team at The Barn enough for helping us have such a wonderful day and we highly recommend this wonderful venue!

A wonderful Wedding Venue
On viewing The Barn, we both instantly fell in love with this beautiful venue which is also in such a perfect location in the centre of Tunbridge Wells, so convenient for our guests, many of who would be staying in nearby hotels. Having a smaller wedding, we were also thrilled that we could have the exclusive use of the venue for the whole day which later proved to add to the relaxing atmosphere of the occasion.
Philippe was so friendly and helpful in guiding us with our choices which made everything so much easier and ensured all ran smoothly on the day.
Throughout the process, Janet was amazing too and always answered my questions promptly, nothing was too much trouble.
Like many couples who get married here, we had our photos taken in Calverley park, which is just across the road from the venue, again so convenient as we did not have to leave our guests for too long.
The food was delicious, and we had many compliments, it was also wonderful to be able to offer our guests individual menus from the various choices available, a feature I would not have previously thought was possible. The welcome canapes and the evening buffet were also very well received.
Luke Swift, the resident DJ, was great too and kept the dancers on their feet.
We are so pleased that we chose The Barn for our wedding and can not recommend this venue highly enough. We thoroughly enjoyed the day and all our guests had a fabulous time.

Truly Magical
We instantly loved the venue when viewing photos online, and when we viewed the venue for the first time in February 2019 alongside Philippe, who was so welcoming, we booked the venue straight away without wanting to see any other venues.
Our wedding was originally scheduled to take place in April 2020, but due to COVID it was pushed back several times. Luckily, after waiting 18 months, we finally tied the knot in September 2021.
Janet was absolutely amazing throughout and was always there to answer our questions. It took us five attempts, but we got there in the end, and Janet could not have been more accommodating.
The Barn is such a beautiful venue and perfect for the 64 daytime guests we had. It was intimate, especially the ceremony, which is exactly what we wanted. Phillipe and the rest of the team decorated the venue so beautifully; it was honestly better that we could have ever imagined. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly and this made the day run smoothly. The food was amazing; from the canapes, to the sit-down meal and then the evening buffet. They also have so many wonderful additions that you can include in your package and we opted for the sweet cart, which everyone loved, and even made use of The Barn's "Mr & Mrs" canvas and easel for our welcome sign.
The venue is in a fantastic location, with great transport links and a beautiful park across the road, which is where we had our gorgeous wedding photos taken.
The Barn provide a list of outstanding wedding suppliers, which was a great help when planning our wedding as we didn't really know where to begin. We were fortunate enough to work with some of their recommended suppliers; Helen England as our photographer, Cut Above Productions as our videographer, Colonnade Florist and Luke Swift as our DJ. All are AMAZING and we would highly recommend each of their services.
We cannot recommend The Barn highly enough. It is the perfect wedding venue and all our guests adored the venue. Janet and Phillipe, from the bottom of our hearts, we cannot thank you enough! We will certainly be returning each year for food and drinks, and to reminiscence our special day.
