The Bedford is a wedding venue located in Wandsworth, London. Dating back to the 1930s, this property has undergone a multi-million-pound renovation. Featuring many original architectural features, this site is ideal for those seeking to tie the knot in a truly one-of-a-kind venue.

Facilities and Capacity

The private dining room is a light and airy event space that makes for romantic ceremonies. Seating 32 people, this spot enables you to exchange vows in front of all of your close friends and family. Once you're hitched, you have a range of options when it comes to your drinks reception. The cocktail bar is filled with stunning artwork and 1920 art-deco charm. Here, you can chill with loved ones, sip on beverages, and raise a toast to your love story. Alternitivley, the Saloon Bar and main Bar are also great settings. Memorable receptions can follow in the Club Room. This round room mimics a vintage cabaret suite and is complete with a staging area for a DJ or live band. Here, up to 150 people can dance the night away as two families become one. Other event spaces include the ballroom and mezzanine.

Perfect venue, perfect day

As soon as we visited The Bedford, we knew it was the venue for us. It had everything we had been looking for - ceremony and reception in one venue, late licence, great London location and hotel rooms - and all the spaces are so unique and beautifully decorated. The fact that it's a minimum spend, rather than paying a flat hire charge, was also very appealing and a model that more venues should use. Anne and the team were fantastic throughout and made the whole process stress-free, which considering we set the date only three months before the wedding was very welcome! The day itself was perfect. The team are clearly very experienced and managed the whole day so slickly and professionally, and were so friendly throughout. The food was absolutely delicious and so many of our guests complimented it, including a professional chef. The hotel rooms are also lovely. The main pub area was a great space for those staying the night before to have dinner and drinks and then have breakfast the morning after the wedding. It was the perfect day and we are so happy we chose The Bedford. We can't thank you enough!

Perfect venue for our special day!

We loved our wedding at the venue. We hired the ballroom and cocktail bar for our reception. Everything was perfect, from the decor to the food! Leading up to the event, Ann was so helpful and accommodating and even allowed us to make our own ‘off menu’ food choices for the dinner. Ourselves and many of our guests stayed at the venue and we were able to book out areas of the pub for our guests to have dinner the night before and breakfast the day after the wedding. Would thoroughly recommend the Bedford for a wedding!

Just an amazing wedding experience

From our very first meeting with the team at the Bedford, we were really amazed at how welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about weddings they were. They do not charge for the planning service but they really put everything into making sure we were happy and that things were ready for the big day which we appreciated. On the day, I cannot fault them at all - everything was PERFECT. I had the best day of my life and that was down in no small part to everyone at the Bedford and how hard everyone works. Thank you, thank you! The venue itself is just incredible as well with so many interesting quirky bits and amazing photo opportunities.

I can wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone wishing a (relatively) stress-free wedding experience. You are all amazing.

Fantastic. Great venue and a great team looking after us.

Becky and the team at the Bedford were brilliant. Very thoughtful, very flexible and very professional. Our civil ceremony was great fun thanks to them.

Absolutely amazing, the best place for our best day

As soon as we had our initial meeting with The Bedford we knew we were in safe hands.

Anne and the rest of the team could not have been more kind and helpful throughout every step of planning and executing our wedding (particularly with handling several last minute/nervy emails and requests in the final run up to the big day). It is the most wonderful and unique space (with so many options for different rooms you can use), giving such a fantastic and fun atmosphere.

We could not be more grateful and happy about how it all went; we wanted a more lowkey/relaxed but fun day, and The Bedford was the perfect place for this. We practically had to drag most of our guests off the dancefloor at the end of the night! as everyone was having too much fun!

We absolutely loved it and I can't recommend The Bedford highly enough.

Brilliant Venue All Round

My partner... now wife!!! and I held our small reception in the Ballroom at The Bedford Pub. We are locals and wanted to keep it local after a boozy day so this was the perfect location.

The staff were extremely attentive all around leading up to the day and helped with setup and arrangements throughout.

Would highly recommend if you want something a bit down to earth with value attached.

A wonderful Venue!

We got married at the Bedford in May and cannot sing their praises enough. We had the best day and the staff were incredible from the event planners & management ahead of the day to the waiting staff at the meal. Would 100% recommend, it all felt so personal and we were really well looked after!

Best wedding venue in London!

They say your wedding day is the best day of your life and thanks to the team at the Bedford, ours really was! 3 months later and everyone is still talking about it! We loved everything about The Bedford; the food/drink, the awesome staff and the beautiful and effortlessly cool setting was exactly what we were after. Cannot recommend The Bedford highly enough for a wedding! Thanks again guys!

The absolute best!!

We can’t recommend this place enough, as soon as we walked in we knew it was the right vibe for us and Anne, Becky and all the staff were such a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Our day couldn’t have been more perfect and we felt like we were in the best hands. The hotel rooms were lovely too. There is nothing about it we would change! Thank you thank you thank you :)))

Great wedding at the Bedford.

We chose the Bedford, Balham, partly as it was a very local venue. The venue has the ‘club room’ famous for its shows, but it also makes a great location for the ceremony itself. Combined with the dining/ball room upstairs this allowed us to hold the whole wedding in one place. In the run up to our wedding the Bedford gave a professional service and on the morning Becky was on-hand to help us set up the dining room exactly as we wanted it. For the size of the venue we were towards the upper end in terms of guests, but the team were helpful ensuring we could fit everyone in. We also had quite a large number of children at our wedding and The Bedford kindly supplied a room for our childrens’ entertainer.

Overall the team at the Bedford made our day a great success and feedback from our guests was that they loved the venue too.
