Facilities and Capacity
At The Birch Hotel, you and your guests can enjoy a touch of history as you relax fireside in the wood-panelled lounge or walk the length of the Victorian interiors. Alighting down the grand staircase, the stage is set for you to tie the knot in the beautiful Sussex Room, witnessed by 60 loved ones. Afterwards, you can toast your long-awaited union in the modern bar area. During the Summer months, you can take full advantage of the garden area as you sip on a celebratory Pimms or Bucks Fizz. These pristine grounds are ideal for capturing your wedding photographs before beginning the festivities indoors. If you adore the outdoor views, the light and airy Courtyard Room allows you to continue to enjoy them through its large windows. Boasting a barrel-vaulted ceiling, this rustic space can hold up to 70 seated guests or 120 for the reception. Alternatively, you can return to the Edwardian-inspired Sussex Room for an intimate sit-down meal of 40. With ample accommodation offerings, you will also have the opportunity to host a breakfast for the following morning before saying your goodbyes.

Amazing beautiful Venue
Thanks to Izzy -wedding coordinator who was outstanding/ amazing, she made us feel very relaxed about the arrangements and planning for our big day. Nothing was too much trouble and always went the extra mile with every detail of the event from the day we all met. Took out all the stress which usually comes with the planning/ wedding day
Hotel manager Nick was also very professional, welcoming and ensured everything was going well & to plan.
The food / menu was excellent. All the guests were extremely happy & impressed with the wedding breakfast & evening buffet - chef was extremely accommodating with all requirements too.
Ceremony room was beautiful & dining /reception area was great. DJ was excellent

Izzy, Nick & Patrick where incredible from start to finish.
We had been speaking with Izzy for 2 years before our big day and she was always quick to reply to my emails and calls. Izzy was always so friendly, happy and bubbly and kept my crazy mind at ease throughout.
On our wedding day Nick and Patrick took over and it was absolutely seamless I couldn't fault them or there service at all. Once again both where incredibly helpful and friendly.
The food and service provided from the rest of the team was secound to none in fact so many people commented on how lovely the food was.
For the price we paid I feel like The Birch exceed all expectations and if we could do it again we would.
I can't thank them enough for how perfect our day/night was it was definitely one to remember thank you!!
Wedding 2019
Izzy and her team were absolutely amazing in organising our big day at the hotel which took a lot of pressure of us both, leading up to the big day.
On arrival to the hotel everyone was greeted with a glass of Prosecco in the lounge and the staff were so friendly and welcoming.
The wedding breakfast was fantastic with three different options to choose from which catered for all our guests very well especially those who had dietary requirements. The Birch organised our DJ and Photo Booth operators, where the staff were so professional throughout the night.
The hot fork buffet in the evening was again absolutely amazing with more than enough food to go around for 120 guests, and the staff continuously topping up the food. We had the honeymoon suite on the night of our wedding which was wonderfully decorated in rose petals and candles. Thank you so much again Izzy and her team this really was the best day of our lives and was all down to the hard work which went on preparing making this day so special for us. Thank you so so much.

A very good experience! Our wedding was perfect for our budget
The wedding package was adjusted for our needs as we had a specific number of guests for the ceremony followed by more guests in the evening for the reception. Izzy at the hotel was very helpful and we managed to organise the venue decorations, hot food, DJ, dance floor, drinks, discounted room rates for guests as well as the ceremony itself and putting money behind the bar for guests to have complimentary drinks, through her with ease.
The food was fantastic opting for a fresh high tea after the ceremony for our immediate guests, followed by hot food buffet in the evening. Catering for vegetarian and vegan guests with ease.
I can’t really fault anything, we wanted everything to be in one place for our guests to be able to relax and enjoy themselves making use of the rooms at a discounted rate, flexible free parking and disabled access rooms. As well as the outdoor space as the weather was fantastic.
The hotel isn’t 5 star but we didn’t want it to be. We genuinely felt we got good value for money and it surpassed our expectations. The staff were attentive, and the food, drink and atmosphere was perfect.
We had originally planned for a Christmas wedding in 2022 but due to finding out ab immediate family member had a life limiting illness the hotel were very understanding and managed to move our wedding forward to the summer (July 2022). Meaning that she could attend our wedding before passing in September some 8 weeks after the wedding. This is one reason as well as many others why I am so grateful and pleased that the Birch Hotel, the staff and Izzy (wedding planner) and management, handled our wedding. It’s means a lot to me for so many reasons and I will always remember the day with fondness.
A great venue for your wedding if you want something that suits your requirements and your budget. Great value!
