Located in the idyllic village of Long Melford in Suffolk and dating back to 1450, the Bull Hotel is a stunning and unique heritage Grade 1 listed venue. Today, wooden rafters, carvings, exposed oak beams, and large feature fireplaces proudly reflect the hotel's historical personality. Visitors from all over the world come to visit the Bull to enjoy its outstanding hospitality, and now it has also become a unique wedding venue.
Facilities and capacity
This hotel is perfect for wedding celebrations for up to 120 people. There is also a choice of three fully licensed suites to choose from for all types of civil marriage and civil partnership ceremonies:
- The stunning and charming Mylde Suite for ceremonies from 20 to 60 guests seated
- The historic Martin Lounge Suite for up to 80 guests seated
- The Kentwell Suite for up to 90 guests seated

Cuisine
They are known for their exquisite cuisine and their chef's specialities. The Cordell and Kentwell Restaurants cook tasteful meals, all enhanced by a superb range of fine wines.
Accommodation
Their stylish bridal suite includes a fantastic four-poster bed and a lounge area surrounded by the original oak beams that make up the fabric of this beautiful old building. The bathroom is adjoining.
Should your guests need overnight accommodation, the 24 guest bedrooms are also all en-suite, well-appointed, and very tastefully furnished in keeping with the hotel's style. They also have larger rooms for those with children.
Location
Long Melford is known as one of Suffolk's most beautiful picturesque villages. It is aptly named after its extremely long high street, which is lined with attractive historic timber-framed buildings and Tudor cottages.
The large village Green nearby features the impressive 15th-century Holy Trinity Church, famous for its exquisite stone and wood carvings and priceless stained-glass windows. The River Stour is only a stone's throw away from the Hotel, and these all combine to offer numerous stunning photographic opportunities.
The Bull Hotel is easily accessible from Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge, Colchester, Hadleigh, Ipswich, Halstead, Braintree, and Stansted Airport, all within easy driving distance. For your convenience, ample parking is available right across the main frontage, at the back of the hotel, and throughout Long Melford Village High Street.
